Good Option For Busy Day 5/20/2010

I had dinner two times at this restaurant off of the main casino in the Venetian last week; both times when we were tired and didn't feel like going too far. The first night, the service was pretty good and food was great. I had the Santa Barbra Chicken sandwich, which was Grilled chicken with Avocado, Swiss Cheese and Bacon. It had tons of flavor and was very filling. The french fries served with this dish were so-so. Their ranch dressing is very garlic-y so be aware for that too. The second time I ate at the Grand Lux Cafe was less than pleasing. We had been seated and were not greeted by our waitress for about 10 minutes. After being greeted I ordered a drink and appetizer and everyone else ordered drinks. A couple minutes later the waitress stopped back to drop off drinks take our main order and left. We didn't see her again for about 30 minutes when she brought our appetizer. After she brought the appetizer it felt like it was an inconvenience to have her refill our drinks with her attitude. The main entrees came out about 20 minutes after we received the appetizer which was decent timing. Again, she disappeared for an extremely lengthy amount of time. I had ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo which was good and filling. The portion was gigantic and could easily feed two people. In fact everything at this dinner was gigantic. The chicken tender meal one of the guests at my table had was huge, couldn't even finish half of it. The other ordered the chicken sandwich I had the previous time here and the final guest had Chicken Parmesan which had a more than healthy dose of chicken and pasta. Overall, I would probably go back because it's convenient and the food is pretty good for the price (inexpensive for Vegas). The atmosphere inside is peaceful and goes with the whole Italian resonance of the Venetian. We never had to wait for a table but on the weekends I have seen a line out the door late night. The waitstaff could use a crash course in customer service which I am surprised at considering Vegas is the customer service capital of the country. Pros: Large Menu, Lots of Seating, Large Portions Cons: Neglecting Waitstaff more

The best part of the Venetian 5/19/2010

I have now stayed at the Venetian twice for work. While I find that most things in Vegas are way over priced, the Gran Lux Cafe is awesome. It's affordable and you get a lot of great food and friendly service. I know this sounds crazy, but trust me, you have to get the sloppy joe's. They are incredible !! I only wish I had a Grand Lux cafe close by so that I could have another one. Pros: Great food, friendly service & affordable Cons: none that I can think of more

Eat GLASS at your own risk 4/13/2010

If you have an accident at the Grand Lux Cafe, expect to be ignored, your accident report will be misfiled and you will be conveniently forgotten. The one desert I ate cost me hundreds of dollars because I had to pay for the damages it caused. Over New Years I stayed in a suite at the Las Vegas Venetian and visited the Grand Lux Cafe three times without incident. The last day I was there I persuaded a friend to try their creme brulee and halfway through eating the desert, I bit down on some GLASS and got it stuck in my tooth. I managed to extract the chunk of glass from my molar (with difficulty) and spat out the shards of glass that filled my mouth. I called the waitress over and advised her that the soft creamy desert was filled with glass and she disappeared into the restaurant before allowing me to finish what I was saying. Eventually the manager, Pablo Cardona, came out and confirmed it was glass by rolling it between his fingers. Mr. Cardona asked me to fill out an accident form and then told me they would remove all the sugar in the area of the kitchen where the creme brulee had been made. He also asked me to call the Hotel Reception during my stay if I had any emergency medical problem from having glass in my food (like a cut esophagus). Luckily I had managed to remove all the glass from my mouth before swallowing! After arriving home in California, I visited my dentist and sure enough I had damaged my tooth. I called Pablo Cardona and was told he was on vacation. I've been calling Pablo Cardona and Cheesecake Factory Risk Services for the last four months and they are always ""in a meeting"" and my calls go directly to voice-mail. Pros: food presentation Cons: customer service more

CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT 5/19/2009

First we were seated at a filthy table with dirty utensils as well as dirty drinking glasses. Also the food we ordered was not the food we recieved. Also the manager asked if we are sure of what we ordered. No compassion for guest and no adjustment to the bill. If you are considering rating here, I suggest looking at other options. Las vegas has many more wonderful resturants. Do NOT consider this place if you want to be treated with respect. more

Great Place, Lots to choose from! 4/9/2008

We have been going here for years. They have a lot of choices. The food is really good, the service is well too. The only reason I give it a 4 is because there late late menu does not have a lot of selection as their lunch and dinner. If you go to this place be sure to arrive for dinner not the late later dinner. They are open 24hr. They have one of the best French Fries you will ever have. It is in a good portion so you might want to share. They have good fresh fruit plates which i order on regular visits. I would recomend this place since it looks nice and the quality of food is good too... Pros: Great Service and Food! One of the best French Fries Cons: Late dinner menu does not have lots of choices! more

Great service, yummi food, affordable prices, quick meal! 1/2/2008

We went on a recent Vegas vacay, four of us total. We were seated about 15 minutes after putting our name in although it looked like the wait would have been much longer. Got a great little booth in a quiet section in the back of the hotel, which was fabulous. We all got drinks, which were good, except mine was way too sweat (Pomegranate Champagne drink). Got appetizers of the mashed potato spring rolls and edemame, both of which were really good. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and timely. I got the spring roll appetizers which were surprisingly good. My boyfriend got the southwestern salad which was SOOOO good!!! I was craving it days later. Our friends good some good plates as well, but didn't taste them. Overall it was a very reasonably priced meal, great service, and a good time. I wanted to go back before we left but we just didn't have time. We also realized there's a Grand Lux in Great Neck, NY close to were we all live, so I'm sure we'll try this place again soon afterall! Definately recommend this place. So much to chose from and the prices are fair. Pros: Great choices, good prices, attentive service, generous portions Cons: Not much. Some oft the drinks are a little too sweet. more

best dining experience on the moderate price side for our trip 12/27/2007

When we arrived there was a small wait (15-20 minutes.) The ambience reminded me of olive garden, busy and a little noisy, but also romantic. We started off with egg rolls stuffed with potatoes with cheese on top and sour cream dipping sauce. They were deliscious. You also get bread and butter which were good. Then we got our meals. I had the pasta bolganese and it was really good ( a tad bit salty.) My husband really enjoyed his meal also which had suatayed chicken. When you cut the chicken it was very tender and high quality. There were no veins or anything. The prices were decent. Mine was $15 and his was somewhere near that price range. It was good food and we felt like we were at a nicer restaurant. We eat at restaurants a lot and we would eat here again. Pros: deliscious food more

Poor Service Stay Away! 12/8/2007

Stay away poor service! We arrived at the Cafe around 9:45 and within 10 minutes we were heading back to our seat. When we arrived at our table it was not ready and the hostess ask us to wait a moment and she walked off. Five minutes later we sat down at the table after being asked to move out of the isle by several staff. After setting down the hostess finally returned and told us not to sit at the table till it was fully cleaned we asked her if we could sit at one of the other 4 tables they were seating guest that arrived after us, she told us no and asked us to wait again. About 2 or 3 minutes later she returned and sat us at one of the tables we originally asked to sit. I asked to talk to a manager. The junior manager came over and talked to me?situation resolved in my book. Pros: Cool looking place Cons: Poor service led by poor managment. more

Great Food and Service. Lives up to Cheesecake Factory's Reputation 10/4/2007

I went there after watching The Blue Man Group show, which by the way was great. The food was very good and the service flawless. The restaurant truly lived up to it's Cheesecake Factory's reputation. There is also a late night menu, which I plan to try the next time I'm out there. Highly recommend! Pros: Food, Price, Hours of Operation Cons: Ambience more

Best place to eat PERIOD. 8/10/2007

Feels like a 30$ per entree restruant for only 13$ per entree. I've been to quite a few places even shelled out 60$ at the chinese place, next to stack, and still i prefer the LUX. One of the few 24 hour restruants in vegasand definately the best late night menu. Breakfast or traditional burgers even some oddball dishes. Very friendly staff i was shocked how friendly my cook was... WOW Pros: Great late night menu Cons: nothing more

Great late night spot for the all night party crowd. 7/6/2007

This place has a great menu with a large amount of choices even after midnight. We were seated quickly and had a great server. The cost isnt bad for the amount of food they give you. Especially if you eat a breakfast type plate. Pros: Great selection of food, great service and decent price. Cons: I didnt see anything that could be a con to this great place. more

Eggs Benedict......simplly scrumptious 4/30/2007

I had terrific service and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The buffet looked delightful but was craving eggs benedict. It was the best I have ever had and I try them wherever I go. Will definately eat at the Grand Lux next time I am in town. I would love to try that terrific buffet, but knowing me I will order the eggs benedict again it was so good. more

great customer service 11/28/2006

We were seated promptly . The waiter was cheerful and pleasant. He was able to recommend some excellent choices for breakfast. My husband had the buffet and really enjoyed it. The food presentation was also very nice. Pros: Great service and food more

Awesome food! 11/11/2006

When ever I'm in the area of Vegas, I make sure I stop here for a meal. Almost every time I've gone the service has been good, the food is always excellent and with Cheesecake factory Cheesecake you've gotta save room for dessert. I love going here for dinner or anytime I can. I highly highly recommend it! more

great food, but.... 6/26/2006

you get served by 2 waiters/waitresses. a little annoying actually. one of the waiters was good - the other was extremely annoying and committed a lot of faux pas. for example, i ordered a pasta dish and i asked for a spoon. instead of handing me the spoon or placing it on a napkin next to me, the waitress stuck in my plate!!! are you kidding me???? a little loud, too. my dining partner and i had to yell at each other to converse. otherwise, the food itself was quite excellent. Pros: great food Cons: way too loud!!!! more

Great Breakfast 6/17/2006

We had a great breakfast. Not the buffet. Server was terrific. We've eaten there before and it has always been good. Associates had dinner the night before and thoguth it was great too. more

Great Breakfast Buffet 5/3/2006

The breakfast buffet was really good. This included juice and coffee as well. It was a good deal because if you order juice or coffee, that is already about $4.50 each. The breakfast buffet itself was around $13. The selection was limited but some food was good. The custom made omlet bar was really good. I ordered the waffle myself and my girlfriend ordered the buffet. The omlet was pretty good and I had no complaints about it. I think it was pricey overall for breakfast, but I already expected that since it is Vegas. Pros: quick seating Cons: pricey more

Bigger than it looks 2/24/2006

We stubled on the Grand Lux one evening and were astonished at how big it is once you get in. Rather noisy but service was friendly and attentive and the food very good. We ate there twice in our 4 day stay. Pros: food, service, drinks Cons: wait more

consistently tasty 12/29/2005

i came here on a saturday for brunch with friends. the service was fine, very attentive, but it seemed like we had three different waiters throughout the course of our meal. the menu was a smorgasbord of dishes from different countries. it was a bit daunting to try to get through in a timely fashion, but i think this would be a plus if there are picky eaters in your party. i had the duck potstickers and the parmesan potato cakes, both of which were delicious. my only complaint was the loud music playing in the background. granted, it's in the middle of a casino and it was the holiday season, but it was more than a little unnerving trying to enjoy a meal with the sounds of crashing symbols and a full choir overhead. Pros: lots of options Cons: loud, busy more
