Review content:
I had dinner two times at this restaurant off of the main casino in the Venetian last week; both times when we were tired and didn't feel like going too far. The first night, the service was pretty good and food was great. I had the Santa Barbra Chicken sandwich, which was Grilled chicken with Avocado, Swiss Cheese and Bacon. It had tons of flavor and was very filling. The french fries served with this dish were so-so. Their ranch dressing is very garlic-y so be aware for that too. The second time I ate at the Grand Lux Cafe was less than pleasing. We had been seated and were not greeted by our waitress for about 10 minutes. After being greeted I ordered a drink and appetizer and everyone else ordered drinks. A couple minutes later the waitress stopped back to drop off drinks take our main order and left. We didn't see her again for about 30 minutes when she brought our appetizer. After she brought the appetizer it felt like it was an inconvenience to have her refill our drinks with her attitude. The main entrees came out about 20 minutes after we received the appetizer which was decent timing. Again, she disappeared for an extremely lengthy amount of time. I had ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo which was good and filling. The portion was gigantic and could easily feed two people. In fact everything at this dinner was gigantic. The chicken tender meal one of the guests at my table had was huge, couldn't even finish half of it. The other ordered the chicken sandwich I had the previous time here and the final guest had Chicken Parmesan which had a more than healthy dose of chicken and pasta. Overall, I would probably go back because it's convenient and the food is pretty good for the price (inexpensive for Vegas). The atmosphere inside is peaceful and goes with the whole Italian resonance of the Venetian. We never had to wait for a table but on the weekends I have seen a line out the door late night. The waitstaff could use a crash course in customer service which I am surprised at considering Vegas is the customer service capital of the country. Pros: Large Menu, Lots of Seating, Large Portions Cons: Neglecting Waitstaff
