Best

And why wouldn't it be crowded, this place has amazing food. Not your average diner. Quick delicious food with plenty of extras. They really know how to make you feel at home.

Worst

I order from takeout from Grampa's most weekends. The order is always right has extras. The bakery is the best. A great start to the day. more

Went here two times and shouldn't have done that as the second time was worse than the first. Nothing to look at either inside or out, food not so great, service terrible and I can bake better at home. Next food network show they will be on will be Restaurant Impossible!!!!!!!!! Only thing fast in this place is getting your check for food that you didn't finish and drinks you didn't get refilled. more

This restaurant has little german ROACHES. My husband and used to frequent grampas, but sitting at the counter one morning we witness a couple of roaches running around near the toasters where they also had exposed bread that could have very well been contaminated. We told the waitress which proceed to try to give us free bread! I guess that was like hush money. Lets just say I will never be eating there again yuck!!!! more

To those who dissed Grampa's, all I can say is that they need to take their snobby gourmand attitudes and put them away somewhere. There is no other restaurant in the area that serves a big, hearty meal like Grampa's. No scrimping and no haute cousine here...just good old country cooking. Their mashed potatoes are real, not boxed or frozen. All their food is good from breakfast through lunch. And speaking of breakfast, their grits are the best I have eaten since my mom used to make them when I was a kid. The waitstaff is fantastic...always friendly and happy to see you. The bakery serves the best baked goods in town! I could NOT believe the person who said it wasn't good. They must have damage to their taste buds to say something like that. \r \r Bottom line: Excellent food, warm and friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. I would eat there every day if I could. Unfortunately, we live 12 miles away and even so, we make the trip every weekend for late breakfast. This place is the BEST!! Go and enjoy one of the best meals you have ever eaten. more

Tried three desserts from the bakery, all disappointing. Can get better stuff at Publix more

On vacation close by and came across Grandpa's -- figured Guy wouldn't steer us wrong. We guessed wrong. The place wasn't very clean. The service was below par. The amount of food you get was STUPID! Why would you put that much food on a plate?!\r \r I ordered the fried chicken dinner and can't say a positive thing about any of the items, even the mashed potatoes and gravey. Go to the freezer section at any grocery store and you can find a far better chicken dinner. My husband ordered the spaghetti meatball dinner. Again, a frozen dinner has the same or better flavor. Their bread and cinnamon rolls were below average.\r \r If you are looking for shear volume of food with little quality -- this is your place. We searched Urban Spoon and found Robert's. If you are looking for quality -- make the effort to find Robert's. more

went here after seeing it on triple D...what a mistake! this place looks like a dump from the outside...the food is just gross, nothing special about it at all, i mean if you like frozen out of the bag hash browns, burnt pancakes or full of grease soggy bacon, then yeah this is the place for you...and i'm not even going to get started on the RUDE and TERRIBLE wait staff they have! just gross!!!!! Not a good experience! 4/3/2012

We decided to try Granda's after seeing it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. What a mistake. My wife and kids ordered the french toast which was average at best. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. This was the worst biscuits and gravy dishes I have ever tried. I ended up eating three bites and waiting for the waitress to check in to see how things were. The waitress never checked in except to drop off the bill! She never asked how the food was nor did she ask why I hadn't touched my meal. At this point I just wanted to leave, but the kids saw the black and white cookies in the bakery and wanted to them. These were also not great and the kids refused to eat them after taking a few bites. I will definitly NOT return! more

Cute atmosphere, decor and very friendly waitstaff. They bring yummy pastries free when you are seated. Biscuits and sausage are the real thing but grits have been better in other places. My eggs were great. I recommend it! more

My partner and I ate breakfast at Grandpa's every weekend for about 3 months. They never have enough parking, and NOT ONCE did we get our whole order correct the first time. Frequently the table and menus are sticky with god knows what. Coffee tastes like dishwater. I have been served burnt toast, no toast, had our food dropped on us by a clumbsy waiter, been served the wrong plate on two occassions, Had my sausage forgotten, waited 20 minutes for the check because the first time I asked for it the waitress just added more coffee and told me "she didn't want me to leave". I will say this for them, they are cheap, and the items from the bakery are good, but the restaurant is a horrorshow. more

The food is great, the portions are huge, and the bakery has the best cakes I have every tasted. The icing is amazing. Jennifer is the best waitress ever....very friendly, quick, and efficient. Any of the bad reviews below must be expecting 5 star dining for a $15 meal, but this is a diner, so go here if you want good food, reasonably priced, not atmosphere. Pros: null Cons: null more

The cinnamon buns alone are worth the visit. This is not somewhere to go on a diet. The bakery is outstanding. Never had a bad meal there. And if you want to put on some more weight you can walk over to Jaxson's afterwards for some killer ice cream. more

My husband and I are here at Grampa's restaurant and so far the service hasn't been that impressive. Darrin was our server; who is more like Speedy Gonzalez . He did not show us any attention, he seemed to be on a huge rush, when it was not that busy. We ordered the Lamb Shank, which was ok , nothing to write home about. It definitely was not worth the drive; glad we were already in the area . more
