My new favorite company! 9/3/2014

Had a great experience today! Dwight R. was knowledgeable, helpful and was an all around awesome guy! This company was the only company that could clear my line after 3 others including Roto Rooter tried! We were being told that the repairs were going to be close to $20,000 when Dwight was able to clear our line for A LOT less!! As a new homeowner who has only been in the house for a week we were going crazy trying to figure this out-thank goodness for Dwight and Gold Medal Service--I became a member and will be using them for all my repairs from now on! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED more

BEWARE! This company is a rip off. 7/29/2013

Beware, this company is a complete rip off. They also write their own reviews. They have lots of google reviews that are phony (not from real people). Their prices are astronomical. Way above competitors. They charge a $49 fee to come out and do the diagnostic. In my situation, they quoted a price of $1,270 to install a kitchen faucet and shut off valve. That is way too much money for such a small and relatively simple job . Just ridiculous! A few days ago, Roto-Rooter provided a quote of $400 for this same job. I thought the Roto Rooter quote was high so I went to Gold Medal Plumbing for a 2nd opinion. Boy was I wrong. The quote from Gold Medal Plumbing was 3x higher. The repair man tried to tell me he has more training than his competitors. So crazy!! When I told him I was not hiring him for the job, I was told I still had to pay the $49 diagnostic fee. I called their offices to complain and try to get my money back and was never able to get in touch with manager. He was always busy. I left a call back number but he never returned my calls. So unprofessional. This is a very shady company so be very careful. more

David was able to explain what he was doing and answer my questions in easy to understand terms. I was totally pleased with their work -- as I always have been with Gold Medal's work over the years. Installing my water softner 7/21/2011

Michael Jackson was polite, capable and very accomodating. He had to break up the installation time and did so graciously. He was neat and knowledgeable. The job was well done and he explained all the aspects of its operation. He was just great. Thank you vaery much...Gold Medal! He is a credit to your organization. more

Excellent consultation and installation 7/21/2011

I felt confident in Gold Medal from the consultant's first visit (Barry) through installation and review. Installers Pavel, John W. and John K. were quiet and professional. They answered my questions, did a thorough explanation and review of the work, and were very clean - they even cleaned the old cobwebs and dirt from walls and floor behind where the old equipment came out. John also took extra time to re-level the washing machine after the move. They treated each other respectfully throughout the long day as well, which is important to me. A good team. more

Fast, Easy, Efficient 7/7/2011

Called Gold Medal at 3pm about my AC. It is now 6pm and the AC is repaired and running better than ever. Serviceman Lou Polese was phenomenal! Studied the unit for a few minutes, checked chemical level, looked at wires and came back telling me exactly what the problem was and the most efficient way to fix it, as well as an estimate that was right on the money. One of the competitors came in earlier, looked briefly at the machine and told me that I needed to buy a new one today. You have won a customer forever!! PS - Give Lou a raise!! more

Finding the problem and fixing it- 1st time 7/6/2011

Good: Mentioned an issue to the technician, didn't really think it was a problem. He listented to me, investigated, found a significant problem and fixed it immediately. I have the maintenance contract and it did not cost me anything.. Bad: Everything was great!. Improvements: I cannot think of a thing they can do to improve.. Other: Their service is terrific!!!. more

No Hassle With Gold Medal 6/23/2011

Good: Gold Medal sent Alex F. to my house dressed in a white shirt to discuss the electrical work I wanted done. He was professional, knowledgeable and quickly gave us the information we needed. We had many questions, that were all answered. When we decided that we wanted the light fixture installed, he started work immediately, and was done in a timely manner. There was no mess left behind, and he even wore shoe covers. I didn't have to wait weeks for this to be done. Alex had all the supplies in the truck.. Other: The first time I used Gold Medal was an emergency situation, when we had a big plumbing problem and they replaced the busted pipe in no time and came immediately. After that, I have called them for an emergency in the middle of the night when the circuit breaker box stopped working.Their prices are always fair! The technician will look right in his book for the price of the job, in front of you.These are established prices. I know the cost before they start the job! Thanks for being there for the homeowner!. more
