We moved literally around the corner from a 2400 sq ft, single story house to a 3000 sq ft, 2 story house. Virtually everything they were to move was in a box that had a colored label on it (to indicate which floor in the new house the box was to be taken) and the name of the room was written on this label. In the new house there was a sign indicating the floor colors and each room had a label showing the name of the room. It took this moving company 3 days to move us 2/10 of a mile and she charged us $3000! Toward the end of the 2nd day, one of the workers hurt his back so badly that he was vomiting but Glenda Smith insisted that he keep working until we intervened. I would highly suggest that no one ever use her company again.
RESPONSE FROM Glenda Smith Movers:
Scott,
I apologize you feel unsatisfied with your experience. We went out of our way to accommodate your last minute change in schedule, and I was upfront with Stacy about the time and how difficult it might be due to the schedule change.
As I explained, all my trucks were already booked long distance & we would have to use our 20 ft, fully-enclosed, and very nice trailer to make several trips. When we arrived & I viewed everything, I stated it was going to take 2 days & maybe more. I always make sure my customers know exactly what to expect. That is why I am surprised to see this review. Any move with 425 plus items is never a small move nor a small price!
Also, I appreciate the concern you show for one of my movers, but I assure you I would never allow an injured member of my team to continue with a move. That is the reason we left early on Saturday. I care for my movers like family.
Finally, after 2 attempts, I hope you will please allow us to pick up the rest of our equipment: 3 flat dollies, mattress covers, 1 full roll of shrink, bungee cords, tape, 5 heavy duty quilts.
Respectfully,
Glenda Smith
