Editorial review from Citysearch 5/3/2013

I had a great experience and since my original knee injury goes back 30 years, I've seen a lot of orthopedic doctors and had a lot of surgeries. Retired military and I have Optim insurance as well, I made an appointment to see Dr. Glasson. She was very complete in exam and reviewing MRI's I had sent prior with me. Since I don't want a knee replacement at this time, I'm back in Physical Therapy and they are great as well working on some other issues such and other knee, back and hips that have deteriorated over the years do the initial injury. Not in nearly the amount of pain I started with a month ago. more

Highly recommend Dr. Glasson!! My husband had to have complicated shoulder surgery. His arm is back to normal with full range of motion. I was shock when he had to be at physical therapy 17 hours later. Put she knows her stuff, she is a pro with a God given gift to heal. She does not believe in tons of pain killers. She preaches lots of physical therapy. My husband had hand surgery a year earlier from another doctor in another city nearby. He still does not have full range of his hand, fingers, etc... Highly recommend doctor Glasson to anyone!!! more

This place is a scam! Charge you your 5/29/2012

This place is a scam! Charge you your co-pay and you never see a DR 45 minutes after my appt. time i was told it would be another 30-45 minutes untill the Dr. could see me. My shoulder hurts so bad and i need to get it fixed, but not by a Dr. that can not tell time. more

Avoid this place! 10/18/2011

I wish I had read the negative reviews here before sending my daughter there. My daughter was a very active girl, a competition gymnast for many years. She developed lower back problems about 2 years ago. We took her to a specialist who recommended physical therapy. She underwent PT for about a year with no improvement. We were then referred to Glasson Sports Medicine. Dr. Glasson indicated that not all PT are specialized and she recommended that we undergo treatment at her PT, because they specialized in this type of treatment. My daughter went to therapy there, in in the same building right opposite her consulting rooms for several months. After the first treatment my daughter said that the pain was relieved. We were very happy but the pain returned after a couple of days. So we persisted with the treatment for many months, hoping it would cure her rather than provide temporary relief. The PT then informed us that most probably my daughter would never be cured and would have to undergo PT for the rest of her life. That was unacceptable to me so about 2 months ago stopped we the treatment and I called her office to speak with her. I was told to make an appointment to see the Dr. She was only available in about a month from then, which is when I had a business trip so the next appointment was another month later. (Today). So today I arrived, was told to update all the forms, and then they asked where my daughter was. I told them we made the appointment for me to see the Dr. to discuss how to proceed because the current treatment was not working. I was then told that she would not see me and because my daughter was not present they would charge me a no-show fee. I wanted to see her only for a few minutes. I was told she is busy seeing patients and would not see me. I left and by the time I got home they had left a voicemail saying that we needed to call to schedule a follow-up appointment for my daughter because she may need more specialized PT. I called them back stating that I was very unhappy that I had to cancel a business trip to make this appointment and the Dr. would not take 15 out of her day to see me. I I was told that she would not see me because without my daughter present, she could not bill the insurance company!!! They also stated that we had not used their physical therapy but went somewhere else when in fact we went to their facility. They clearly are disorganized, in our case ineffective, and care only about getting paid. more

Glasson Sports medicine-non atheletes need not apply 6/7/2011

I made appts to see Dr. Glasson & kept seeing the same P.A. who cheerily advised me each time that I should see Dr. Glasson. I would make another appt to see her, and see the PA again. Since that happened repeatedly, one assumes that it must add more visits to the bottom line. more

Dissatisfactory Care 10/16/2010

About four weeks ago, I fractured my foot in three places and rolled my ankle. After going to the emergency room, I was sent to see an orthopedic surgeon. Apparently, unless you've had surgery, you cannot see a doctor at Glasson Sports Medicine. Initially, I was put in just a post op shoe and they refused to try putting me in a walking cast (or boot), which would have stabilized both my foot and ankle. In the post op shoe (which is nothing other than a flimsy shoe with a non flexible sole), I was in excruciating pain and was in tears (and I have a VERY high pain threshold) before even getting to the lobby. The next day, I went back and they put a cast on me. The nurse who put the cast on was really, really nice and I appreciated her care and attention. After only two weeks, they took the cast off, took new x-rays and determined that my foot was still fractured. However, the P.A. said he wouldn't put me into another cast and just to wear the post-op shoe. On top of that, he said that they no longer needed to see me back. It's been almost two weeks since I got my cast off and the pain has become excruciating again. I went to my PCP yesterday who confirmed that the cast came off WAY too early and judging by the swelling in both my foot and ankle that I needed to go see a doctor to discuss putting on another cast or get a ""boot"" and discuss physical therapy. She has referred me to another doctor to see next week. I am 27 years old, a Navy wife and mother of two toddlers so, needless to say, my lifestyle is an active one. I am extremely dissatisfied with the care I received at Glasson Sports Medicine. The only saving grace of this place are one or two nurses there. Otherwise, they are not military-friendly and if you are not an athlete, their bedside manner is less than caring. Unfortunately, this was where Tricare sent me. I would never, ever, ever recommend them to anyone and I think they need to take a step back, listen to their patients and actually take care of them. I am planning on writing a very strongly worded complaint letter to Tricare regarding this. more

Awesome Physical Therapy 10/15/2009

I have had shoulder problems for the past 2 years. Was seeing another Dr. when my insurance switched me to Dr. Glasson. Immediately I was given a diagnosis my other Dr. had not come across. Within a month I had my surgery complete and am now going through therapy with them. I am seeing graduate progress in the pain in my shoulder and I'm currently regaining my strength. I was afraid the damage was already done, but it seems to have been fixed. Thank you Dr. Glasson and all the therapists! Pros: Great Therapists; Knowledgable Doctor more

Ditto first two reviewers 4/1/2009

Had same experience re billing. Got collection notice MONTHS after treatment ended, despite no bills in interim, and was floored to learn of a small outstanding balance despite regular co-pays and payment in full for orthotics (not covered by insurance) at time of pick-up. Cons: billing, responsiveness, poor access to doctor, misdiagnosis more

Great Physical Therapy, but on the doctor side, not so good. 10/16/2008

Never had a problem with the Physical Therapy, they have great peronal attention. On the Doctors side, if I desired to see the head doctor, I would have to wait months, so I settled for her assistant. When it comes to my spine, I do not like seeing assistants. Pros: Physical therapy staff. Cons: Long appt. wait for the head doctor. more

Bad doctor, bad billing practices... keep away! 2/28/2008

Dr. Glasson's office was horrible. I was a patient from October 2006 through April 2007, and I am still getting bills. I finally had to have my insurance company call them! They gave me an incorrect diagnosis- thank goodness I got a second opinion and didn't have to go through the surgery they recommended! I would not recommend this place if my life depended on it. Too much trouble. more
