Poor customer service. Don't expect any help after your purchase. I purchased a 4x4 rear-end ($500). After using it for a short time in 2 wheel drive mode, I realized it was the wrong gear ratio. I spoke with management, requesting an exchange (or refund in case the correct part was unavailable). I was told they might consider an exchange, but they did not have the part I needed. They refused any and all requests for a refund (even a partial refund as well as my offer to pay a restocking fee), even though I offered to demonstrate that the rear-end was in good, working condition and not damaged in any way. Furthermore, I offered to let them inspect it or have a mechanic inspect it and subject it to any testing they chose, yet my requests were still denied. To my knowledge, they have no legal obligation to assist in any way with this matter; however, it is my opinion that many businesses would have been willing to help me out in this situation in the name of good customer relations. Based on this experience, I am left to conclude that customer satisfaction is of little interest to this business. more

hard to find parts 12/13/2011

I have a 02 Subrau Outback LL BEAN model. I needed a hood, grill and a headlight assembly, after a incident with a deer. After doing a state wide search, Givens was the only yard in GA to have a legacy outback (did not ask for LL Bean). After reading some of the bad reviews by others, I went ahead and called them was told a price that was reasonable and drove the 70 miles to the yard. The yard man showed me the parts that was still on the car to make sure its was what I wanted. they charged me the price that they quoted over the phone and helped me load it on the top rack of the car. When I got home, I looked at the headlight assembly and noticed it had the LL BEAN trim on it! I am one happy camper. Pros: null Cons: null more

I have been doing business at Givens Auto Parts for sixteen years and have been very satisfied with their merchandise and service.\r \r I recognize that this is a very labor intensive operation and many items are special order and it is my obligation as a customer to order the part I need; give the correct model, make and year. But if I make a mistake the staff has been willing to swap for the correct part.\r \r Forty- eight years experience is impressive and it shows with their skill to get all the info from the customer and offer money saving advice on what will and what will not work.\r \r Of course, the Givens team only sell the parts and the customer must make sure that the part is installed properly. The auto parts can only perform as well as they are installed. A poor choice in a mechanic can ruin a perfectly good auto part. more

I found the friendly hard working people at Givens Aito Parts to be very knowledgeable about auto parts.\r \r They have family owned and operated this business since 1962.\r \r I have been their customer many many times and always got extraordinary service.\r \r \r but then I have realistic expections and they have always been met.\r \r \r Give them a try. Large inventory of new and used parts.\r \r \r There is a great deal of skill required to do this repairing and using auto parts effectively.\r \r Many teenagers think they know more than 48 years of experience but they have too much time on their hands to print lies on the net and try to blame their failures on honest hard working people . more

RIP OFF ALERT 5/11/2010

DO NOT do business with these people. 1) They over charge. 2) They do not offer refunds even if THEY SELL YOU the wrong part or if the part that they sell you isn't the right size for your vehicle (all GM parts DO NOT fit all GM vehicles) 3)They act like they know everything about cars and will argue with you even if you have a certified mechanic try to put the part on your car and it doesn't fit and you try to explain to them why it doesn't fit. 4) They are rude and care nothing about customer service. 5) They treat you like an idiot if you are a female. So save yourself the hassle and take it from a 25 year old struggling to make ends meet on her own who is now out a working vehicle and $53 and research a decent, honest auto parts dealer, because the family of the family owned Givens Used Auto Parts are a bunch of sexists crooks! Horrible, defective parts! 4/23/2010

They sold me a defective engine. Said that they would swap it out with another one when I tried to return it. Instead I found them pour transmision fluid into the crankcase and try to fake it working. When I said that wasn't acceptable they refused to honor their previous statements, refused to swap it out, and refused to refund his money. A complete ripoff! They lied and sold defective parts. When I told another mechanic about this he laughed and said, "You can't buy decent parts from Givens!". Seems that other people know about this ripoff place. You need to know too! more
