5 star salesperson 7/7/2010

Ok so today is June 30, bought the Santa Fe on June 29. JR was certainly a 5 star sales person. John was also excellent. As I have lots of experience purchasing cars- The experience was a 5 star. Pros: customer service was great more

will say anything to get you there 2/1/2010

I was contacted immediately about an inquiry I made on line. I was told there was a special on ALL the cars to make way for new vehicles and I was told wrong info about their warranties. When I arrived for that specific vehicle I made an appointment to see, they didn't know where the vehicle was. And the special did not apply for the one car I wanted to see. When I asked the salesman what he could do for me, he calculated what I would be paying for the car, when I did the math in FRONT of him, I pointed out that he was really doing nothing for me. He was just adding the price of tax and tags to the original full price, like I can't do math. Then another salesman came and tried to talk me into buying a new car. I thought my time was wasted, until I sat down to write this review. If this helps someone else, i feel there was some sense in this mess. I must say, I was so annoyed that I drove there on a day I was so busy. I couldn't even feel angry at the woman that gave me the wrong info on the phone. I think she was trained to mislead people, she was not ignorant at all. I think she was actually doing her job the way she has been trained to. Thank God I have a purposeful job. It must be aweful to do that for a living. Pros: none I've noticed Cons: unethical or ill informed- both a poor sign more

Bate & Switch Practices and much more! 1/5/2010

Giuffre Kia Mazda Mitsubishi Hyundai is a car dealership that preys on consumers. You will regret any dealings with them. They engage in bate and switch tactics, they provide consumers with incomplete and inaccurate information and they try to trick consumers into purchasing warranties that they do not need or want.\r \r At the end of December 2009, I called Giuffre and asked about the availability of a 2004 Lexus RX 330. They told me that the car was available and I went in to see it. When I arrived, I was driven across town to see the car and told that the vehicle was actually moved to another location only minutes after my call notifying them that I was coming in to see it. WHY? After this inconvenience and waste of time, when I arrived at the other location, I noticed that I was being shown a more expensive 2005 and not the 2004 that I inquired about. I was told by the agent that the 2004 was sold quite some time ago. ""Then why was I told it was here?"" I asked. The agent said that the receptionist probably didn't check. I had travelled all the way to Brooklyn from mid-town manhattan by train and figured I would go ahead and look at the 2005. When I went into the car, it would not start. I was told that it would need a jump and guess what, the cables were back across town at the other location. So why didn't I leave then you might ask? Because I had already invested a couple hours. When I went back to the first location. I was convinced to stay there and wait for the car to be brought to me. While waiting I asked to see the carfax report several times to no avail. Finally, after demanding to see it, I was given an abbreviated version that omitted all pertinent information. I became increasingly suspicious and called a friend who ran the report for me. The full report revealed that the car was in an accident - information that the dealers intentionally and deceitfully withheld. Hours later I was still at the dealership, I finally test drove the car, liked the car in spite of the accident and decided to purchase. (I know, in retrospect I realize I should have ran for the hills many times but understand, these people are very good at what they do. their tactic is to delay and wear out the consumer so that eventually, out of desperation and exhaustion, they agree to purchase.) I returned the following day to purchase the car. The agent who handled financing went over the terms and I heard him quickly mention the word ""warranty"". I asked him to repeat more slowly and confirmed that they were trying to sell me a $3000 warranty. I explained that I did not want to purchase it. And guess what, after 8 hours of my time wasted, travel expense to and from the dealership, Giuffre refused to sell me the car without the warranty. They figured that I had invested so much, I wouldn't possibly walk away. But I did. I wish I read these reviews prior to dealing with this shady company. It amazes me that this dealership is still in business. Pros: Non Cons: dishonest dealings in advertising, advertising, etc more

Dishonest dealer 6/15/2009

I should have believed what the reviewers have said. This dealer is dishonest. They will try to do any to get you in. Will not honest their quote. I was quoted a Entourage 2008 and just hours before I go in, I called and they said they have a few of it available. I arrived at my appointment, and there is no car. I was there for 5 minutes and left. Cons: Will do everything to get you in more

Watch Your Pockets and Count Your Fingers 1/9/2009

This place is soooooo bad. They make Madoff look like an angel. They lie more than any place I have ever been. If every time they told a lie a little dark spot would appear on their teeth, you would see a black hole when they smile at you. They write things down then take it back because they say they don't want their competitors to know what their prices are. Give me a break. Stay away from here if you don't want to get robbed. \r They ripped off my aging uncle and could care less that they were doing it. They had him hood winked and he was smiling as they hosed him. Completely contemptable and without any ethics. File a complaint with the City Department of Consumer Affairs and write a letter to Hyundai management about them. Pros: They are professional liars Cons: This work speaks for itself. more

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! 11/17/2008

I found the sales reps to misrepresent the cars. They are eager to sell but unfortunately not helpful when assistance is required. Management is too arrogant and not interested in the customer. Only the sale. Poor customer service in the sales area. I will not purchase another car from them. I am on my second Hyundai (I love Hyundai -- absolutely do not care for the dealer -- too shifty for my taste.) They get no stars from me. Pros: sweet talkers Cons: unreliable with customer service follow up. more

Not Recommended! 10/23/2008

I recently purchase a vehicle from this dealership and they bascially did not follow through on their verbal agreement about the financing, which means you should go by the old saying, always get it writing, although the sales manager did write down what he offered on a piece a paper, he somehow sneakily took it back under noses when we left the dealership, plus I made the foolish mistake of taking his word, so bottom line, the sales staff is totally unethical and will say anything to get you buy, and their service department is useless as well, I tried to call and complain about the matter, but they would not comply, I know there are other dealerships out there like this, but I'm sure there are better ones as well, this is one of the bad ones, I certainly do not recommend this place, and I should have done more research and read all the bad reviews that are listed for this dealership before I stepped my foot in, I guess I learned my lesson the hard way, so now I'm stuck with the car, which knock on wood, is fine and close to what I was looking for, but I'm probably paying more than I should beacuse I was double talked and minipulated, so unless you are car buying savy and or the agressive type, I recommend you go to other dealerships. Hope this review is useful and will stop people from making the same mistake I made. Pros: None that I can think of Cons: Unethical sales people, Useless service dept, Low class environment more

If you would like to chuck your money/time/energy away, then go to them!! 8/5/2008

They are bunch of bustard and liar working and owning this dealership and causing Mazda, Hyundai to lose their reputation. \r \r First of all, please tell your friends and relatives NOT to go to this dealership ever. There are bunch of sales agent working there who are uneducated. Their boss (Mr. Iggy Giuffre) is also a nice little scammer. If you are stuck with them, I would say do not seek any help from them; please contact your legal representatives or file a formal complaint to Mazda/Hyundai Head Quarter so that they can revoke this freaking dealership?s franchises. \r Pros: If exists-only GOD knows Cons: There are many...don't know where to begin...... more

worst dealership I ever dealt with 7/28/2008

this company made one deal with me and changed the deal. I asked for the original deal in writing. The salesperson told me that the deal changed once I got in the room with the finance guy and that wasn't true. The finance manager(who is no longer there) wrote it down and said he was putting it in the sleeve. When I got home it wasnt there. I believe he did it purposely. So that's where the problems began. So they are denying our original deal which was they were going to make three payments of 656.98. In addition, they added a warranty to my contract and told me I had to take it if the deal was to go through. They asked me not to cancel it until 61 days. they will not have earned the money. They(vinny the old floor manager) also said they wouldn't charge me the percentage fees on the warranty if I came back to the guy who sold the car who is now denying he ever said that. I've tried to cancel on numerous occasions and got the run around until the president told me today that he is not cancelling the warranty because he needs to make his money. The contract clearly states that I can cancel the warranty but it?s the dealer?s responsibility. Also I told vinny I would not take the car if the insurance was too high. I called a couple of places and it was too high so I wasn't going to take it. He said call my guy Angelo from network agency he works with different insurance companies. I called angelo qouted me a rate that was affordable and vinny agreed to pay the downpayment so that I can take the car. However, two weeks later I received a letter from eveready insurance company stated the insurance was going up 1200 dollars. When I spoke to the supervisor of the company Maurriccio he stated to me that the agent knew I would not have qualified for that rate. Now I beleive that Angelo and Vinny may have been in cahoots to get the sale on both ends. When I called angelo back concerning the matter He never called me back as promised and he's not take anyof my phone calls. Pros: none what so ever Cons: don't stick to deals made with clients more

SCAM ARTISTS AT GUIFFRE MAZDA! 2/10/2008

INSTEAD, ITS WORTH THE $9 TO GO OVER THE BRIDGE! Pros: NOTHING Cons: PRESSURE TACTICS, OVERCHARGING FOR NO REASON more

Best Hyundai Dealer in the TRI-State 5/2/2007

I went to every Hyundai dealer in the Tri-state and I got LOW Balled by everyone, Manfredi, Scamsone, Plaza and I finaly went to Giuffre Hyundai. It was the best Hyundai dealer by far. I had a great salesman and the Managers was qa pleasant to buy from. \r \r I wish all dealer's was as nice friendly and up front like Giuffre is. Service is excellent and you get a loaner car If you need to leave your car for service. If you need a great salesman see Freddy at Giuffre Hyundai. Giuffre is the BEST Thank you Pros: Great staff, great deals, Freddy Cons: Manfredi, Scamsone, Plaza Auto more

Worse salespeople I've ever encountered 1/27/2007

I visited this dealership after receiving a scratch off in the mail that said I was a guaranteed winner. I am an economics major in my last year of college and have heard of schemes of this nature so I was a bit skeptical about this and decided before visiting them to call ahead and see what the ""catch"" was. I spoke to a Debra and a Ryan on two different occasions and they both assured me that I was a guaranteed winner and stated that I could have won the grand prize which was a car or a cash prize which was 1 : 350,000 chance that I could of won those or a $1,000 online shopping spree. They assured me once again there is no catch, to just come on down and claim my prize. When I got there I asked for Debra as she told me to do and I was seated. I spoke with an Al Stevenson who then showed me a chart that said since I scratched off three cars I am guaranteed to win an online shopping spree and $2,500 off a car. I told Mr. Stevenson that I did not come here to buy a car and that I was told by the two representatives on the phone that my intentions were to just claim my prize since they said I was guaranteed to winner. Mr. Stevenson kept persisting and I realized at that moment that this was indeed a bait and switch scenario. He then brought over his manager which not only insulted me but asked why I came down here to waste their time. He began to throw more insults at me and stated how I had not read the fine print and that I cannot read and obviously I am not that smart. He did not only insult me but he also insulted my friend who had came down there with me. I did not throw any insults back at them and I simply walked out because I chose not to argue with obviously deceitful people. I walked out with no prize even though several of the employees claimed I was a guaranteed winner. This was the first time I've been the victim of a scam and such unprofessional, questionable, downright deceiving business practices. Pros: none! Cons: will start to insult you when you decide you do not want to buy a car from them more

Ok dealer with a small show room. 12/15/2006

Pretty good dealership, the price on the car was about what I expected. The dealer?s representative explained the price to me in a way that I could understand. The cons are that they have too little space on the lot and do not like waiting for the customer to come back with a bank check so I had to get three credit inquiries in all three agencies from 2 sources. One of their nice employees drove my car home for me while I took my rental($20 US I think it was) to my house and then I brought the guy back to the dealership. Basically I had a similar experience buying a Mitsubishi Galant 5 years ago.\r \r \r Be careful with the loan/finance officer, he is a bad speller.\r \r If Hyundai had a great suspension I would recommend this dealer even more. Pros: Easy to buy a car from. Cons: Finance officer is a bad speller. more

Stay away from anything that has the name Giuffree in it!!!!! 10/26/2006

I recently did the wrong mistake of my life and bought a car from Giuffree Hyundai. They charged me points, high interest, anything that could be added to the price of the car, they added it. It was my first time buying a car, they told me the banks were closed and please sign these papers. End result - I paid an extra 8k for the car. I could have bought a nice acura, or a used bmw. Now i drive around with a stupid Hyundai, with no power windows, no power doors. I used to have some respect for Hyundai, now Im thinking of putting this car up in flames. What an idiot I was to go to them.. Learn from my mistake, keep 20000000 miles away from them. Cons: Service, Knowledge, professionalism all zero more

AVOID THESE GUYS!!!!!!! 9/20/2006

Please, if you have to buy a car, don't go to these people. We went last week to buy our Mazda CX-7 and the dealer WITHOUT OUR knowledge gave us a replacement policy worth $2300. \r We just found out that we have such a thing, when my husband went over there to find out why our payments came up so high. Then he found out that our dealer cheated us so badly.\r We will take this to court, we won't leave this like that..\r But so much stress this has caused us..The staff is so unfriendly, they have never returned our calls and emails.\r Please avoid them as much as you possibly can.\r Cons: DON't GO THERE FOR ANY REASON! more

Horrible service, dishonest staff, zero follow through 7/16/2006

I purchased a car from the New Car lot of Giuffre Mazda/Hyundai. Here's just a snapshot: The dealer couldn't answer my questions, the manager misquoted the version of the car that we were negotiating and couldn't imagine my dissapointment when test driving a different car then was promised. Staff wasn't knowledgable about a rebate that was advertised online and was unable to negotiate its use. Calls were never returned from staff. The finance officer that closed the deal misrepresented an additional insurance policy. I later found out that I was locked in for years to it and it couldn't be cancelled, the opposite of what was promised. The financial officer refused to even discuss the matter over the phone and didn't return calls. I have considered taking the company to court but no longer wish to deal with this company in any fashion. Stay clear of these guys! Pros: Selection Cons: everything else more
