Beware of Service Salesmen 9/14/2011

I recently took my Honda in for an oil change and to have the key lock mechanism looked at before my warranty expired. The service salesman first tried to sell me on over $300 ""30K mile"" service, which I declined. Just the oil, thank you. Then he said they key lock issue was my key, and not covered under warranty. If that were true, it seemed too coincidental that BOTH of my keys did not work. And then told me that I needed new brakes and they should be replaced within the next few weeks. I then took my car to my personal mechanic who lifted the car and showed me my pads. The front ones looked new, and the rear ones were about half-life, and I'm fine for another 20K miles. My mechanic used to work for dealerships and explained that he was probably just trying to improve his numbers for the month so he was selling me things I didn't really need. Unless it's warranty-related and you HAVE to go to the dealership, find yourself a good honest mechanic and save yourself some money. more

Purely Horrible 2/10/2010

I recently sold an SUV back to this dealer, it was originally purchased here a couple of years ago. They offered me the lowest price possible, I was in a hurry to sell this car, so I didn't have any other choice. I turned the titles over to them and dropped the vehicle off on Friday, this was scheduled a week and half ago. But they didn't have the check ready for me to pick up when I turned everything over that Friday. Instead, I was told to come back on Monday to pick up the check. So I drove 50 minutes again back to this Honda dealer on Monday, they didn't have the check. Again, they asked me to come back on Wednesday (which was today). I drove back today towards the end of the business hours, giving them all day to cut the check. They didn't have the check ready. I was told to come back tomorrow with no explanations. They wouldn't even bother to hear my questions, I was completely ignored. I'm going back tomorrow with police and my lawyer. Their customer services is terrible, uneducated and unpleasant.
