We recently had a very serious plumbing problem in the basement. This problem has been on-going for a long time and we came to the conclusion that we needed professional help. Gillece was our choice after extensive research. They were recommended by several friends. We are extremely satisfied with the work they did for us. The problem was diagnosed on the first visit and the work was started and finished the next day. The basement floor had to be broken up for about fifteen feet to replace old and rusted out pipes leading to the main drain. The two men working the project were very professional. They not only told us what had to be done, but they also showed us everything step by step. It was an expensive repair, but much less than we expected. We do not regret the expense because we are sure that we are done with any more serious problems. The finished job shows a high level of expert workmanship and we would highly recommend this company! I know of three people that have been quoted total sewer line replacement at a cost of between 8,000 and 11,000 dollars. The real problem was that they had tree roots in the line. roto rooter charges 250 dollars for this service. more

After moving to Pittsburgh I have twice tried to use these crooks. First time was for a running toilet, "has to be replaced immedieately" with w $1700 quote. Bought the same toilet at the hardware store and installed in 35 minutes at $130.00. Then our heater was way over pressure and the radiators were jumping from air bubbles. You need a Spirovent, no bleeding the radiators wont owrk. With the Spirovent you will have to replace the system soon becuase the air bubbles will tear up all the controllers Quote of $2400 before a days labor. My neighbor purged the system and problem solved for a .39 rad key. I had them clean the system but low and behold my neighbor looked and they did absolutely nothing to clean the system. BEWARE of this company. Do NOT let them scam you in and talk you into proceeding with services. They charge 5-6 times what other plumbers charge and are horrible to you if you want to speak to a supervisor about issues....and won't put you through or call you back. They prey on you for being stuck and take advantage. We were LIED to and charged an excessive amount and then told massive work is needed and try to scare you into services. They should be ashamed of themselves the way they conduct business. Get a second opinion and STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! They should go be arrested and sent to jail. more

Outrageously expensive. If you are seeking a good value, look elsewhere. After spending $65 to have a plumber assess some repairs, we were quoted a price double that quoted by another company (which itself was outrageously expensive). I am an engineer who has been involved with plumbing and construction, so I had a good idea of various options for repairing these types of problems. The Gillece plumber was only willing to offer the most intrusive, expensive possible solution. If you want the gold-plated answer, go for these guys. Otherwise, recommend you call around. My wife and I had to have the exterior piping replaced on our new home due to the fact that the existing piping was composed of terra cotta. After contacting several plumbing companies, we decided to go with Gillece Plumbing. Not only did Gillece offer an extremely competitive price, but their service was absolutely spectacular on every front. Gillece efficiently and completely replaced all of our piping in an extremely timely manner. Additionally, whenever I had a question or concern I needed addressed, they saw to it that it was quickly answered to my satisfaction. However, perhaps the action that typifies the professionalism of Gillece Plumbing the most is actually something that occurred after the plumbing work was completed. Subsequent to the installation of the piping, my wife and I were having problems with our sprinkler system. They informed us that they had shut the valve off as a precaution and informed me where I could find it. All I can say is if you need plumbing work done, call Gillece as they are the best! Needed more than just an average plumber for a vry difficult problem. Had six different plumbers out to my house over the lat two years. Gillece was the first to send a true expert out that solved my problem with noises in the walls when I ran the water. I wish I had all the money back that I spent with all the other plumbers. Gillece came to my house on time, was knowledgable and professional, and did the work quickly. The problem, they replaced a capacitator (cost around $40) and charged me almost $600 and told me I was getting a discount. NEVER will they ever be used by me again.... more

Same day service guarantee can get you free work done if you have the time to be rescheduled. I sceduled an appointment for them to install a faucet in my kitchen that I had purchased at Home Depot. I didn't really need the same day service guarantee, but when they tried to reschedule me because they were busy, I reminded them of their ad in the phone book about same day service. The girl put me on hold and came back on a minute later and told me that my call qualified for the same day guarantee, and that they would be out the next day to install the faucet fior free and that all I would have to pay for was the parts. Guess what? They didn't even charge me for the parts that they used off their truck. If you have the time, wait them out and let them live up to theior guarantee. It worked for me. I called them on Wednesday when my air conditioner was just blowing and not cooling. I was a little upset when they called me back around 4 that afternoon and told me that because of how busy they were because of the heat that I would have to be resceduled for the next day. I was pleasingly surprised when they told me that because they couldn't get to me that day that they would come out the next day and do the service for free. This sounded too good to be true but sure enough they had a service man at my house at 9AM Thursday mornning. The best part is that they recharged my AC forn the cost of the freon only with no charge for labor. I only paid $34 for a freon recharge which they told me was the cost of the freon that they used to recharge my AC. I'm telling everyone I know to call this company for service and to hope that they are so busy that they cant get to you so that you get the service for free. Make sure that you call in before noon for service and request service thae same day and then hope that they call you and ask you to reschedule. If you have the time to wait it out this is the best deal in town. We had an electrician from Gillece come to our house about 2 weeks ago. We had some flickering lights and were concerned since our home is 40+ years old. He seemed to know his business. We were totally over loaded! Updated our fuse box to all new service. With breakers and a lifetime guarantee!! Probably saved our house from a electrical fire in the future. THANKS!! Snaked out sewer. Came out right away and gave a 1 year warranty for clog. Used video camera snake to show me the inside of the pipes to show that they fixed the problem. Pros: Good customer service, Workers very courteous Cons: None more

Had an emergency during the Super Bowl with no heat. Tony came out immediately (about 1/2 hour) and took the time to fix our furnace, explained all the things that we needed to have done and was not rushed at all, even though it was in the middle of the Super Bowl. Furnace is working fine, got a new thermostat that tells what the temp is outside. Highly recommend this company. Price was less than expected. Will definitely use this company again.
