Favorite Haircut I've Ever Had 11/27/2011

I have not had a professional haircut in over a year-I was putting my hair in a ponytail, flipping it over, and cutting in a straight line. I have really thick, rather wavy hair, and I always have loved the look of layers, but nobody has ever been able to give me layers that are as flowy as the ones that Nalyn did. Her use of the razor is exactly what she says-precise. She gave me layers that work with MY hair specifically, even the bangs that she gave me. (Usually I have to straighten or style bangs-these ones just naturally fall really nicely). The profile created by hair at every angle is everything I could want. I am so happy that my mother and I stumbled upon this little shop. Nalyn is amazing and vivacious and will make you feel even more excited than her great haircut already makes you feel. more

Gia consistently gives amazing haircuts 11/22/2011

I've been going to Gia's Elite Style for about a year and a half. The first time I went, I sat down with my plain long hair, and I couldn't tell her what I wanted. Something new. Shorter. But longer. Layers? Sure. She knew I was completely lost, so talked to me about a fantastic long, layered, wavy cut, and then she gave me that haircut. ""You're gonna love it,"" she promised, and I haven't gone somewhere else since. This evening, I went in (I called half an hour early, but I've also just walked in) ready to go for a more daring, shorter haircut, and I had some pictures to show. She told me what she thought about those options, and how I could tailor them to fit my hair and face better. I have never had such an awesome haircut. more

Nalyn is friendly and experienced 11/20/2011

Nalyn is experienced at hair and eyebrows. She is very friendly. She has often done me the favor of taking me without an appointment. If she is with another client, you can look in the boutique while you wait, although I don't usually have to wait long. She is very cheerful and makes you feel comfortable. She doesn't keep you long and asks what your preferences are. She does great work with eyebrows. Location is good--close to other shops so you can get your errands done in all one shot. more

If you are looking for designer labels at discounted prices - then shop @ Gia's! Why shop the main mall when you can get just what you are looking for and more right at the Triphammer Mall!? Gia's has all the greatest styles at very low prices! The owner is warm and friendly and always welcoming. Need a hair cut? Gia's can do it! Want a waxing done? Gia's can do it! Want to look sexy without braking the bank? Look no further than Gia's for all things stylish and within your budget! Go once and you will return again and again and be pleased EVERY TIME!!! more

Best Haircut I've Ever Had! 10/28/2011

Nalyn is amazing! I have very heavy, straight hair and have always gotten it cut in layers to help give it more body. At my first visit to Nalyn she recommended her razor cut to thin out the ends of my layers. I tried it and was amazed by the result! My hair looked fantastic and had so much body! I liked it so much I go back anytime I need a haircut or want to look great for graduation pictures or other special events. The best part is that it grows out beautifully without any awkward in-between phase since the edges are thinned and blended there is no obvious break where one could see that I used to have layers. So if you are like me and constantly switching from short to long hair Nalyn is the best choice! Unfortunately this means that I don't get to see her that often since I am happy with my hair for longer, but she always remembers me and greets me like a long-lost friend when I make it in. Her prices are very reasonable and she is willing to take walk-ins or last-minute appointments as long as she has the time. Strongly recommend for service and excellent style! more

Who knew you could get eyelashes tinted in Ithaca! Nalyn clearly has a lot of experience with the procedure, and has consistently done a terrific job for me. I wouldn't go anywhere else! more

Nalyn is a very experienced and honest hairstylist. I paid a little more than I am used to paying, but it was cheaper than salon prices and totally worth it. Nalyn listens and communicates clearly throughout the process. She is both artistic and precise, and very kind. I am relieved to have found a skilled and trustworthy hairstylist. more

i needed a hair cut REALLY bad. I stopped into Gia's Elite style after having dinner at the Rose. I was pleasantly surprised. Nalyn was awesome! I've been looking for a good place for a long time and i found it! I told her what I wanted and she took what I thought I wanted and gave me what I needed. My wife liked how well she took care of me and decided to get her hair cut as well and that turned out awesome too. I will deffintly will go back. more

Hidden treasure for vintage clothes and beauty care! 10/8/2011

I was in Ithaca for a wedding, and nervously searching for someplace to get my eyebrows waxed. Nalyn did an exceptional job, and her shop was a treasure trove that begs to be discovered. At the back is a salon for hair, brows, and manicure, where a young man was very happy with his cut and style. Up front are racks of vintage designer clothes and accessories for incredibly low prices. \r What a find for bargain hunters and beauty mavens alike! more

As a man looking for a decent hair cut, I have recently experienced my second visit to Gia's and I'm, again very satisfied with her service, professionalism, and friendliness. LOVE MY HAIR! 9/27/2011

I've had Nalyn cut my hair three times now, each time I leave I have a huge grin on my face. I feel completely at ease when I'm there. she has experience and a talent to go with it. the first time I went I talked with her about how to cut it and she did exactly what I wanted. This last time I told her to do what she thought would be best and it looks even better! It's completely worth the price. I'll get my hair cut by her as long as I live in Ithaca, and maybe after. I definitely recommend Gia's, there are fun clothes to look at too! more

I set an appointment for 1:30, but Nalyn wasn't able to take me until 2:30. She was attentive and asked me what kind of hairstyle I wanted, but although I asked her to keep my bangs long, she cut them extremely short (and now I look and feel silly). She also charged me $45 for the haircut even though I read that her haircuts are $30-35. Overall, she was nice, but I would never go there again. more

I walked in with no appointment, and received immediate attention. She knew how to give me the best cut for both looks and my lifestyle. I could relax in her chair because this lady has had lots of experience, and also a very positive, focused energy. I felt very pampered having had only a simple trim. more

Finally! 9/5/2011

Finally, after two years in Ithaca I found a good hair stylist! After having tried many other places I was relieved to come to Gia's and get a good hair cut. Nalyn was very friendly and talkative, and wasn't afraid to offer her professional opinion on what would work for my hair, while listening to what I was looking for. She took her time, and really tried to perfect the cut until she and I were both satisfied with it. Be prepared to spend a little more than some of the cheaper salons in town, but it is worth the money! more

I love it 8/29/2011

I recently had my hair cut by Gia in Triphammer Mall. It was a wonderful experience and I am definitely going to go back! I was surprised to see that she has a whole section of her salon dedicated to used clothing for sale. All the clothing is really nice and designer names. I highly recommend both her salon and shop. Gia is wonderful and I am looking forward to my next visit :-) more

Nalyn is the best stylist I've ever been too! She gives an amazing cut with tons of attention to detail. And she's fun at the same time! She knows exactly what you're looking for and makes sure you're completely satisfied before you leave the salon. I've been disappointed by far more expensive salons around Ithaca, and from now on GIa's is the only place I'll be going. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed! more
