Not our best experience, but I have been there before and had a nice time and meal. So maybe it was just an off night. Will be back. Pros: Salmon dish Cons: rushed servi...

Great! 2/7/2006

Ate here last night with three girlfriends. Had the steak special - it was divine! One of the best steaks I've ever had! The appetizer special (shrimp struedel) was also delicious, as was the apple walnut dessert. My friend had the green plate and the mushrooms were great. Cool restaurant, neat view, good service. I'll definately return! Pros: Ambiance, Good Service more

I can't wait to go back 12/19/2005

The lamb was sweet and tender, the pork with plum sauce was sensational. I'd add some sherry to the French onion soup, but it was a wonderful meal. Save room for the chocolate mouse cake. It is denser than lead on a cold day with chocolaty goodness. Pros: immediate seating, great food, great view more

Highly satisfied 12/5/2005

My first time at Germantown cafe was outstanding. I had the rack of lamb and it was the best I have ever had. The butternut squash and asparagus that came with it was perfect. The appetizers were also exelent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I also thought the prices were okay especially for how good the food was. The veiw of the Nashville skyline was beautiful. more

You're missing out! 10/13/2005

If you haven't tried the fried green tomatoes or french onion soup, you are totally missing out! I don't like tomatoes and I'm not a huge fan of french onion soup, but I LOVE them at this restaurant. The brie is also amazing. The service is top notch and the ambience couldn't be better. Pros: great food, ambience, service more

Great group birthday dinner 7/7/2005

I had a birthday dinner with 20 people on a Tuesday evening. The staff was incredibly accomodating. Service was great. Atmosphere was quaint and intimate with beautiful view of downtown. Everyone loved the food. I would highly recommend this for this type of situation. It was a great 30th birthday! more

Perfectly upscale casual! 3/18/2005

My boyfriend and I eat at Germantown regulary and are never disappointed. They have a great wine list and the menu has just enough choices to please any diner, yet not so many that you don't know what to pick. The Southwestern shrimp and the fried green tomatoes are our favorite appetizers and the house salad with the blue cheese vinagarette is quite pleasing. The crab cakes are the best I've outside of New England and always fresh. While I recommend either the plum pork or strip steak, the coconut curry salmon is amazing, too. The desserts are all homemade, with the chocolate bread pudding my favorite. The creme brulee is wonderful too with a cup of decaf after dinner. Overall, I highly recommend Germantown Cafe to anyone looking for quality, value, and ambiance. Pros: View, Patio Seating, Food more

Great Value! 3/17/2005

I've eaten here twice now, and each time was a great experience. The fried green tomatos and squash fritters are great appetizer choices! I was in love with the Salmon entree . . . I don't think I've had a curry sauce that good even in an Indian restaurant. The apple desert is amazing . . . we had to get it each time! Service was very professional and attentive . . . my only complaint is that their wine list is too small. Overall, the value is great . . . we eat out pretty regularly, and for once i was surprised at how small the bill was! that was a great way to top off a great meal. Pros: food, atmosphere, value more

Fabulous! 2/22/2005

I visited Germantown Cafe on my birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. The view was fantastic, the service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food was delightful-- and a great value. I tried the green plate of the day--marinated portobello with squash, spinach, and asparagus-- and it was quite possibly one of the best vegetarian entrees I have had in Nashville-- a perfectly complementary blend of flavors. Thank you for a fabulous birthday dinner...I will be back! Pros: delicious food, great atmosphere, good value more

Brunch Done Well 1/30/2005

Germantown Cafe made our list for brunch this weekend and it will probably become a regular. Just like the decor - the menu selections were simple, straight forward, and very pleasing. The shrimp and grits was the table favorite and the french toast was very good. All in all the meal reminded us of brunch comforts with a modern feel. Pros: Food, View more

Consistently good 1/23/2005

I try to eat here whenever I am in town on business. The place is very big city, but the staff lacks the attitude that usually accompanies places like this. The food is always good, as is the service. I think that they have done something to combat their noise problem, too. I look forward to making it in for brunch sometime; meanwhile, the salmon at dinner will keep me coming back. Pros: Service, Design, Food Cons: , No reservations more
