Not our best experience, but I have been there before and had a nice time and meal. So maybe it was just an off night. Will be back. Pros: Salmon dish Cons: rushed servi...

Even Better Now 1/13/2007

A local favorite, and with the recent renovations, the ambience is much improved (reduction in noise level with the expanded space). We have never been disappointed with the service and nearly everything we have tried has been more than tasty. Brunch is good but the dinner selections still prove to be the preferred offering from my perspective. The Plum Pork is absolutely divine! more

Best Sunday brunch in Nashville 12/28/2006

I have been a Germantown regular for several years now and it never fails to impress me. The service is top-notch, the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, and the food is absolutely delicious. You can't beat Germantown for Sunday brunch. The french toast (which changes weekly) is always delicious as is the omelet. You don't want to miss the little fried cinnamon-sugar biscuits either....scrumptious. During the week, it's great for lunch or an elegant night out on the town. The chicken salad and plum pork are two of my favorites. I can't say enough about how much I love this restaurant! Pros: Free valet parking, great customer service, excellent food value Cons: There are no cons! more

Wonderful Brunch 12/18/2006

Several friends and I went here for brunch one Sunday and it was one of the best meals I have had. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and it was fantastic. The others ordered specials of the day and everyone loved their food. We also go an order of French Onion soup and it was superb. You have to like cheese though to enjoy this because there was a ton of it on their. The view of the city was beautiful and the service was great. I cannot wait to go back again and I am anxious to try their lunch or dinner. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Nothing more

Best Brunch in Nashville 10/14/2006

My boyfriend and I ate there recently for brunch and it was wonderful. We both ordered the crabcake Benedict it was cooked to perfection. Their french onion soup is the best in the world, and their bread is like little doughnuts sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Great value, excellent food, and good atmosphere. highly recommend. Pros: good food, good menu, great value Cons: bar kinda smokey, needs an exciting drink menu more

Great change of pace 9/28/2006

For those who regularly attend casual sit-down eateries, Germantown Cafe offers upgrades in each area of the fine dining experience. From the location to parking to the furniture and decor, it distinquishes itself. The preparation and presentation of the food was done very well. The caesar salad is one of the best I've eaten and I highly recommend the plum pork.(Sorry non-pork eater, just more pork for me). First dates, anniversaries, or (my favorite) the just-because occassions, Germantown Cafe fits like a glove or oven mitt. Pros: Only one location Cons: Only one location more

Where They always make you feel welcome 8/8/2006

I have been going to Germantown cafe almost since they have been open. As I have watched them get more successful, I have (with my usual pessimism) been waiting for the day when I would feel like one of the masses or a number. That has never happened. I am always recognized at the door by The guy at the door. Even though I can't remember his name he always remembers mine. The rest of staff treat me like an old friend, and the service is quick, the food is delicious, and quite frankly it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks from a loyal fan!!! Pros: Hospitable Manager and Staff, quick service, and great food Cons: sometimes a little noisy more

Loved the view 7/27/2006

Where to begin? The evening was fantastic. I asked for a table with a view and at sunset it doesn't get much better. From the complimentary valet, that had my car ready when I walked out the door, to the knowledgable staff, inviting atmosphere and distinct dishes everything was impecable. Timing on the meal was great, presentation on the food was supurb and make sure you save room for desert! Pros: Unique Menu, Parking, Service more

DON'T MISS 7/10/2006

We had our second dining experience at Germantown Cafe and the only thing I can say is that they improved on perfection, raised their own bar and exceeded our level of expectation. From the the valet, the hostess (Kelley who is great), the manager, the bartenders and Jason (one of the best waiters I have ever had) to the absolutely exquisite food, it was a perfect blend of service. We were greeted in ""welcome home"" style and catered to like important people. I can't tell you what to order, because everything we have chosen has been beyond delicious. I don't say that loosely either. After 39 years of dining out, this far exceeds any restaurant I have ever been to. For a regular night out or that very special occassion when you want to impress a special someone---look no further. This is the place. Pros: Absolutely everything! more

Will Return!! 3/5/2006

Our first experience to Germantown Cafe was wonderful! From the minute I made reservations and talking to the lady on the other end of the phone, I knew our evening was going to be one not to forget. Our reservations were confirmed the day before, we received a warm welcome at the door, the servers were knowledgeable-friendly-attentive; the food was outstanding - we had the entrees of crabcakes, tasso shrimp and rack of lamb. Try the red vinegartte dressing with blue cheese-yummy! Desserts were delicious (cheesecake, creme brulee and chocolate mousse in a brownie shell). We HIGHLY recommend Germantown Cafe and plan on returning many times over! more

Great! 2/7/2006

Ate here last night with three girlfriends. Had the steak special - it was divine! One of the best steaks I've ever had! The appetizer special (shrimp struedel) was also delicious, as was the apple walnut dessert. My friend had the green plate and the mushrooms were great. Cool restaurant, neat view, good service. I'll definately return! Pros: Ambiance, Good Service more
