Excellent service -- quick and capable! 5/6/2008

My 32? Sharp Aquos LCD television went out just a few months after I bought it. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Since the tv was still under warranty I called Sharp, who then referred me to George Meyer TV, a local authorized repair shop. Before I could call George Meyer, a woman in their office named Lola called me to set up an appointment for two days later. Apparently Sharp had transmitted all of my relevant info to them. I?m not someone who likes being given a ?time window,? whether it?s for cable tv install/repair, furniture delivery, equipment repair, etc., but I suppose it?s unavoidable. At least George Meyer?s technician showed up during the scheduled window, which is more than I can say for recent appointments with the cable tv company and a furniture store. Anyway, the technician didn?t speak English very well, but he was courteous, efficient, and most of all knew exactly what needed to be done to correct the problem with my television. He brought two replacement boards based on what I had told Sharp?s customer service, replaced the boards, and now my HD television once again works as beautifully as the day it was first installed. I would definitely buy Sharp televisions again in the future, not only for the quality of the product but also because excellent local repair shops like George Meyer TV are part of their service/support network. I couldn?t be more pleased with the quick and professional service I received from George Meyer TV, and would recommended this company to everyone. more

HORRIBLE SERVICE - COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE AND DAMAGED OUR PLASMA 5/1/2008

Beware - these folks will NOT return phone calls and in the event that they ever do actually repair your equipment, check it for damage! We had to send our equipment back more than once due to the fact that the people at George Meyer scratched it, chipped it etc. This place is unbelievably bad. Stay away! Pros: zero! Totally unresponsive 4/24/2008

I'm amazed this place is still in business and so busy. We used them years ago to fix stereo components and EVERY time they took forever. If it's not a straight forward repair that they can get parts for immediately, forget it. You'll never hear from them and you're wasting your time. I would never have gone back except they are the authorized repair place for a Toshiba Regza TV I bought. There was a problem with the picture, they came out and looked at it six months ago. Since then i've called four times and been in the store two. NEVER a follow-up, never a call, nothing. They kept claiming they couldn't get a new mainboard. BS, I called the company and there is no shortage of them. They are absolutely awful and I would never recommend them to anyone for anything. Pros: if they have the part you might have a chance Cons: they will never reply to your calls more

I recently bought a TV in December. The TV had an issue with the backlight where it would continuously flicker (kind of like a strobe light). GM was the closest authorized service center. more

I sent my harman/kardon AVR to them for a simple repair (replace power supply and a $60 chip). The estimated turn around time was 7-10 business days. After two weeks I called to find out what the ETA was. Mary told me that I would be contacted the following day, by Morris, the manager. Two days later, after hearing nothing from them, I called again. Same story. In fact, I got the same exact story every day from Mary for the remainder of the 5 weeks (to the day) that they had my receiver. By week 4 I was calling every day. Mary never remembered me from one day to the next, which lead me to believe that I might not be the only irate customer calling them every day. In any case, they had my unit (as I mentioned) for 5 weeks and never once called back. When I got the unit back, it did turn on (good work George Meyer) but it now buzzes like crazy after an hour or so of activity. Pros: This was a warranty service, so I didn't have to pay anything to be treated badly Cons: Awefull customer service, incomplete QA more

Arcam repair 5/1/2007

Great place for high-end repair. I was reccomended by the representatives at Arcam to bring my amp in. George Meyer was the only place they reccomended, and I can see why, they did a great job. They were a bit expensive, but my unit is expensive and I'd rather pay a premium to get service by qualified technicians rather than random people who dont know anything about expensive audio equipment. I felt confident that the staff understood what kind of unit I was bringing to them. Pros: Good quality work done quickly. Cons: Little expensive. more

Not Recommended!!! 4/11/2007

I brought a CD player in for repair in August of 2006. Finally after 4 months of trying to get my CD player (they couldn't find it, the part wasn't in, it was in storage, etc....), I was told that it was going to cost me $240 to repair a CD player that costs $249 brand new. They never told me how much is was going to cost to repair it before I got the bill and offerred to ""re-break it"" when I complained about the price. I had to get the State Board involved and was able to negotiate a more reasonable price. I would not recommend this repair shop to my worst enemy. Cons: Overpriced, work took forever, customer service was horrible, innacurate quotes more

Great TV and Stereo Repairs! 2/5/2007

The people at this shop know their business! They have fixed my stereos and TVs for years now, and are always helpful. Recently, I asked the owner to advise me about whether to repair several sets, and he was honest enough to tell me not to pay the money, and just buy new. How rare is THAT in this day and age??!! more

They fixed my Yamaha digital sound processor as well as they fixed my big screen TV in the past. Morris (the manager) is great. He juggles many different customers at the same time. Good local source for high end electronics repair 11/15/2006

They repaired several pieces of high end audio equipment for me. It took a little longer than they estimated, but they did good work. Everything worked as expected and they even called back after the fact to check and see if everything was satisfactory. Pros: Job done right. Cons: Time estimates on completion were not quite accurate. more

Highly recommended, great quality work 11/10/2006

I was recommended to George Meyer by the factory representatives at Pioneer because my Elite plasma was not working. The service technicians were very informative, clean, and helpful. They were on time and got my plasma back to me in TWO days, which was great for the football weekend. They were sort of expensive but well worth the price. When the unit came back it looked and worked like new. more
