BAD!\r Took advantage of my 92 year old mother. I personally went there the day before a supposed ""consultation"" with a periodontist and told them ""consultation only"" because she just got out of an ER and is fragile. I figured no problem and let her go with her caregiver. They cut her, sewed her up and gave her a $2,000 bill ! more

I really don't know how to start this. Here I go, I have never met a dentist with such a bad breath and appearance, but not only that but such a lier at a young age. This Dr Park told me that my treatment would be half price few weeks later I receive a call saying a had huge balance of 3,122.87 usd. I never asked for all this treatment, I was never aware of the cost. However, I trusted my ""dentist"". I asked to speak with the manager or somebody in charge for more clarification, I never had a call back, nothing AT ALL. I was sent to collections because of this Dr's diagnosis and treatment. Never go to this office or to Dr Park he will just rip you off. Bad customer service like no where else,just can't rely on anyone there. If I could give this Dr and dental office a minus 1,00000 I will. Waist of time, avoid this place I hope this review helps others. more

Worst Dentist and Front Desk Staff EVER!!! 3/15/2012

I'll keep this direct, short and simple. The dentist name Delgado was the worse I have ever had. Her quality of work is comparable to a low budget auto shop. Get as many patients as possible and milk them for every penny. When she review your X Ray its like listening to a used car salesman. She use the scare tactic to try to have you spend thousandths of dollars; and her caring, sympathy expression is a joke. And the front desk is a zoo providing the worst customer service. They won't explain anything and have you refer to the instructions. This experience will remind you of your high school lunch time cafeteria. Unorganized, low quality and chaotic. more

No complains when all is said and done! 11/16/2010

I started going to Dental Gentle 2 years ago. I was assigned to dentist on the 3rd floor, I had some dental work done, no issues, then that dentist moved on and I got a new dentist assigned to me. He recommended a bridge and crown, so I decided to take his advise and get the work done. Unfortunately, because I had waited years to get this done my teeth had sifted, which made getting a proper fit very difficult. I had a lot of discomfort for several months, which he tried to fix without success and then that dentist moved on. But, I was not left out in the cold. Dental Gentle did the right thing to resolve my issues, they replaced the bridge and crown at no extra cost to me and now I couldn't be happier with the results, thanks to Dr. Park. He's gentle, kind, caring and his work is precise and flawless. I would recommend Dr. Park for anyone who really wants a Great dentist. I love the staff that I have deal with on both floors. Petra, Dr. Park's assistant is amazing! As well as Juan and Eric, who help with certain procedures from time to time. The office staff, Katrina, Jennifer, Ervin, etc., they are always there for you. more

Great Dental Office 9/7/2010

As someone who is terrified of dentists, I wanted to find a dental office that would put my children at ease. This is the place! Although both offices are VERY busy, my family has always been treated professionally and respectfully. The dentists, hygienists, techs, and office staff are extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Corina & Jennifer have helped me multiple times with insurance and scheduling issues. Dr. Maulik has been wonderful with my daughter's orthodontia. He is patient and very kind. My son's wisdom teeth extractions by Dr. Karimi were quick, painless, and his recovery has been quite easy. more

Same here, if I could add no stars I would. Terrible place. The person who wrote the good comment must work for them and is probably been forced to do so, the place is awful!! I went there with a terrible toothache, after all the X-RAYS, the dentist finally came and looked at my mouth, while standing up, for no longer than 30 seconds, kid you not. I had barely opened my mouth and he was already done, apparently on those 30 secs he noticed that my pain was being caused by my wisdom teeth, by the fact that the teeth were stuck on the bone, he said I had to extract it as soon as possible, in fact since both bottom wisdom teeth were blocked I should go ahead and extract all four, I told him that I actually had a lot of pain on a specific tooth and he said that it was because I had a cavity (in one of the bottom left molars), but he would not be able to treat until I had them pulled, because that was the origin of all the pain, wisdom teeth. I went to this Denal Office for 15 years. I am not sure at what point they became so greedy, rude and incompetent, but it became increasingly obvious that they were trying to get as much money as they could from you, while letting their customer service, etc. go down hill. Way down!!! In the end I had to quit because they refused to see me unless I stayed on their "three month" plan, and since I couldn't afford the uncovered treatment, they refused to see me at all, even for the coverage my dental insurance provided, until I would come in on the "three month" plan. And when I left them they charged a $30 fee to get my records!! I don't even have time to explain all the other abuses of this place. DO NOT GO THERE! more

Horrible Dental Group!!! 6/6/2009

Shady employees that work there. Always trying to get the most money out of you. Went in to get a cleaning and they were trying to get me to shell out $88 for a deep cleaning. They said that I needed it because my gums were bleeding. Mind you, this is after the hygienist just poked me with a dental pick for about 5 min. Been going there for 4 yrs with no cavities and healthy gums and all of a sudden I need a deep cleaning!!! I refused the deep cleaning but they still would not do a standard cleaning. Hell,my teeth were whiter that the hygienist!!! What a joke!!! Never go to this place. They will milk you for every penny that you got. more

Worst front office staff 9/23/2008

Please be aware of your dental insurance benefits before you visit this office. I am now finding out that procedures the office said were not covered by most insurances are covered by my insurance. I am already in progress of the treatment and would lose the money I have already paid them if I chaged offices. Cons: Appointments do not start at scheduled time, poor service all around more

Nightmare Experience 9/8/2008

Those people who posted positive experiences with this dental group had to have been in a different office than the one I was at. The dentists were okay, but the office staff is incompetent and unhelpful. I asked for an estimate so that I knew what would be covered and what I would have to pay. So, they called me at home after my initial appointment and gave me the estimate. I verified that they had called my insurance provider - they said yes. However, when my insurance rejected some of the fees, and I called my insurance to find out why and learned that they had never submitted a proposal or estimate to my insurance. When I confronted the office staff about this I was basically told "Oh well, it was your responsibility not ours." And I was stuck with a $500 bill.\r In addition, I sat in the waiting hour for more than an hour for my first appointment. They scheduled me with dental hygienist who was not even working the day they scheduled my appointment.\r They NEVER return phone more

Bad Experience, Poor Quality Care. 10/30/2007

I don't normally post reviews online for a business, in fact, I haven't ever posted a review online before for anything. After my expiernece at Gentle Dental in La Mesa, I had to seek out a way to warn others. Especially since I have heard horror stories from others first hand detailing bad experiences at this office. I never took the time to actually seek out reviews and info for a dental office before; I always thought that the quality of care would be about the same pretty much wherever you went.. THATS NOT TRUE.\r \r I have had poor quality work done, particularly dental fillings falling out. I do not have many fillings, a total of 4 right now, 2 from my child hood and 2 from adult hood. The recent two have both fallen out on 2 different occasions. I finally went to another dentist and was explained that the actual fillings themselves were not properly applied and the holes drilled into the enamel of the teeth too large! Good Experience 7/20/2007

I had a good experience with this dental office. I really like the dentist that saw me. She was very careful and explained everything she was doing before she did it. She made sure I was comfortable, as I am very sensitive to dental work. I had my teeth cleaned and the hygenist was great. I saw the same dentist each visit and she did a crown on one of my molars. Her assistant was also very gentle and careful with me and didn't rush through the procedure. \r I've been to this office three times now. Each time I've gone I have never waited more than ten minutes in the waiting room. The office is clean and they actually have two offices. There is an office on the 3rd floor and one on the 4th. They did have some computer problems when I went one time, but I have computer problems at my job daily, so that is just life in the computer world.\r I would recommend this office and also maybe remind people that you can't get more bees with honey....\r \r Mara more

Gentle Dental altogether bad service. 3/5/2007

I have had some negative experiences with this dental office and would highly recommend that you consider other dentists in the area. Some of the other reviewers have had really bad expierences with this office. My experience has been more of an overall general dissatisfaction with their service. Out of my last 6 visits, every single one has been delayed, with the longest I have waited past my scheduled time being an hour. The offices are somewhat small, with the furniture and fixtures all worn and giving the office an overall worn out quality. I found out from my orthodontist that most of the dentists at the office don't actually work there full-time and go around throughout the week to other offices. As a result I have never had the same dentist or hygienist twice. The dentists do not spend time to introduce themselves when the come to sit down.. Warning 2/16/2007

I've been going to this office since 2003, I changed insurance carrier 3x and never had a billing issue in the past. However, they never return my calls. When I get post cards requesting to schedule an appointment I call leave a message and they never call me back. I had services in August 2006 my first appountment took 3 1/2 weeks to make, I told them I needed a cleaning. They saw me and said you need a cleaning schedule it at the desk. They said my appointment was just for a consultation, even though I already told them I needed a cleaning when I made the appointment. I was charged a co-pay. I came back 3 1/2 weeks later I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time even though I arrived 15 minutes early. They told me I had to pay out of pocket because they couldn't do an insurance verification because my payer was closed. I said fine reimburse me after the claim. Entire Gentle Dental company is like a a hungry crow, they will promise you "golden mountains" to get you, but once they got you....you will be writing one of this negative reviews. When I relocated to San Diego a year ago, I was looking to establish my new dental office. I read first reviews which were negative and unfortunately did not take them into the consideration. I gave Gentle Dental a try. My doctor was great, but she left the company very shortly after my visit. I quickly realized that if I stay with this dental office I will be "tossed" from one doctor to another who will never know my dental history. So I requested a copy of my record so I could start looking for a new dental office and a permanent doctor and instead of the record I was shouted at by the office manager, who refused to give me my record (which was already paid off by me and my insurance) unless I pay them $30.00. That was the most unprofessional office I have ever visited in my life and I would not recommend more

I have had no problems with this company. Everyone is so friendly in the office. I recently changed dental offices and I was able to get in right away to be seen. The dentist there are great. They are caring and friendly. PROS: I would recommend this office to anyone. CONS: No problems. more

I had a very nice experience 9/9/2006

I was late to my appt. (20min.) so they told me i could not be seen anymore but i had another appt. a 1/2hour later (there too) and i waited. i was called in after about 15min. of my other appt. and then they checked w/ the dentist for my missed appt. and he had time for me, therefor they saw me for both appt. Not only that, but i did not have the full amount, so they gave me time to pay the rest of my bill, which was very nice, b/c i thought you were not allowed to do that. They did have me scheduled for an appt. for something i did not need, which i thought was fishy... but they were friendly and told me i really didnt need that appt. and canceled it for me. Overall i had a great experience. EVERYONE was friendly and I had a VERY handsome dental assistant and dentist, both very friendly and informative about the work being done to me. :) more
