The owner Reid is the friendliest guy I know and he takes care of you when you are there. The customer service is the best in Fulton County hands down and not to mention the best sushi joint in the GAi area. I go there once a week and I have never been disappointed. \r \r The price is right and the fish is so fresh that it's hard to stop eating it lol. more

Came here for our 2 year anniversary and we were both VERY pleasantly surprised. We're both snobs when it comes to sushi and never have high hopes when it comes to exploring new places. Genki, however, kind of surprised us.\r \r Location: We came here because we were staying in Buckhead in nearby hotel and it looked interesting. \r \r Food: Everything was great from the curry and crispy eggplant to the sushi \r \r Drink: We did our own sake tasting and ordered a couple of Gingo style bottles. We got hammered :)\r \r Service: Our waiter was great. Very relaxed and helpful when it came to suggestions since it was our first time there. \r \r Final: Can't wait to come back to Atlanta Great Foooooooood Great FFFFFFuuuunnnnnnn! more

1st time today & not the last time. This place was amazing! I read the recent reviews about prices are higher, but the quality of fish was excellent. You pay for quality! The yellow tail was amazing, great portions & melted in your mouth. I had the hand rolls & sushi.\r \r The manager even stop and answered all our questions about fish quality & how they order. \r \r Thank you guys I will be back soon. more

This restaurant has THE best. sushi. ever.\r \r My parents take me here every time they come down to visit me in ATL, because I love sushi to death, and they love sushi to death, and Genki has some of the freshest, most exquisite and melt in your mouth sushi dishes you will ever taste. Like seriously, you have not eaten real sushi until you've tried this place.\r \r Basically, if you want good sushi - none of that Americanized California Roll shiz - come here. Best Genki experience ever. Be ready for a long meal shared by the most discerning diners. We brought a bottle of sake but were shamed by the other patrons. There were multiple bottles of really good wine that were kindly shared by our dining neighbors. I'm talking about at least 6 bottles of good stuff that was opened for just a taste. Not to talk about the ridiculous good Scotch shared by another group of people. Wow, the alcohol we injested alone was amazing.\r \r I won't go into detail of each portion of the meal because I feel I would do a poor job doing so. So many other reviews do a better job. I hate paying for bad food and don't mind the price tag at Genki. it is truly an experience. I can't wait to return! more

Service is always extremely slow and not very attentive.... every time I've been there this is the case. The manager is rude and doesn't seem concerned about keeping long term customers. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants to dine at where they'll actually appreciate your business. more

Creative Rolls, But Lacking In Basics 2/18/2011

I like funky, creative sushi rolls as much as the next guy, but if a restaurant really wants to be a great place for sushi they have to be able to do the basics well, too. That means finding the freshest, highest grade fish possible, having excellent blade work from a skilled chef, and only using perfectly cooked and prepared rice. It's not like Genki does all these things poorly. They just don't do them especially well either. If original maki and ""create your own"" noodle bowls are more important to you than top grade toro, then you'll probably love Genki. If not, I suggest you look elsewhere. more

I would recommend this place to all my friends and family 9/27/2010

This place is AWESOME!!! I took my brother, my wife and my parents out to dinner on a Saturday night. We had 8:30pm reservations and although we had to wait about 10 minutes to be sat for our table we enjoyed the energy in their bar. The dj's music was good and the people were beautiful. Now i have to admit i too was hesitant about going based on what other people have said on yahoo, but honestly i had to check it out for myself and i tell you what...It was worth it. We were told our table was ready and sat by a very attractive and friendly hostess. The server came by a few minutes after we were sat and welcomed us to Genki's. He asked if we had ever been here before and we all said that it was our first time. He went on to explain about the kitchen and the continuous flow of food. The way the food came out was great. All in all the service, atmosphere and energy were right up our alley. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family. more

Lots of energy, always busy, always fast. It's a great mix of local people and is a popular scene with the Atlnata crowd. We get to visit every week or two and are always pleased with the quality. They have a lot of unique rolls that are worth trying. more

Favorite Sushi Place in ATL 9/27/2010

This is my favorite sushi place in ATL. It can be hard to get a table some nights, but it is always worth it. My favorite is the Japanese curry. The fish has always been super fresh and perfectly prepared in my experience. more

The sushi here is amazing and the service is good too! What more can you ask for. It doesn't look incredibly high-end and parking could be tricky, but after you leave you'll swear you'll come back. I have been to dozens of sushi restaurants and this place is definitely up there. The sushi is fresh and the servers tell you how it should be eaten... and compared to other omakase style restaurants, it's very affordable. A definite must for sushi-goers. more

I keep coming back here and love it every time as the sushi is hands-down the best I have ever tasted. I even convinced my wife to come with me and sit at the bar to try the chef's choice, and he is very conservative when it comes to sushi/fish, and he thought it was very good too. more

Heaven, heaven, heaven....! 9/21/2010

The only place I've ever had better sushi was at the fish market in Tokyo. Admittedly, I'm not a profesional sushi critic, just an armchair fan, but that's my experience as a ""civilian"". Fish so fresh it melts in your mouth, warmed rice that (to me) enhances the flavor, and fresh (not fake?) wasabi. Omakase is good, but if you're in a party smaller than 4, go with a-la-carte and order your favorites. Absolutely recommend. Heaven, heaven, heaven....! more
