Best

This place is very popular and they are always packed (the line usually moves fast) on the weekend all the way till closing time. They are open late, so you can have Gelato at 10 ...

Worst

This is the only ice cream place selling gelato that I've found on the Peninsula so far. It's decent, but...

soup n**** ohh sorry cup n*** 7/24/2009

son, don't you ever touch is cups, he will give you one amazing lecture he said, first why did you touch my cups i was like sorry, then he said, you might have H1N1 flu, i was like sorry, then he said, keep it back, ( i was like if i have H1N1 i will just pay for it and buy it), he said, ok, i asked how much, he said 10 cents he is one crazy nut, thank god i was not standing in his restaurants afterwards haha but it was amazing experience, funny guy, pure soup n*** from west coast Pros: nothing Cons: owner is soup naz*** more

Very Poor Customer Service 4/27/2008

Though the ice cream is good, the customer service is terrible. The owner basically ignores the long line of customers, chats with one of his employees and refuses to help out even though one store employee is running around doing his best to help customers out.\r When asked for help since the line is now outside the door, the owner basically asks you to leave. That's his way of solving the problem the waiting customer problem ! \r The owner ( an older gentleman with a strong accent ) despearately needs training in customer service by the Gelato Franchisor corporation. I for one, will never visit the place again. Luckily, for the rest of us,a Yoguberry store is opening across the street ! Cons: lousy customer service more

great gelato in a lively location 2/27/2008

While visiting Bay area for summer break my family and I passed through down town Mtn.View since we heard that it is a lively and fun place to visit. We happened to stop by gelato classico for some ice cream. There was a long line and actually, that?s what got our attention at the first place. Believe me, the line was worth the wait. The gelato was extremely delicious, and I recommend tasting few since there are so many good flavors. Although the line was long the service was fairly quick. The smile on the gentleman that was serving us was as refreshing as the gelato itself and he was very patient with us, and he let us taste few samples before we got our gelato. Anyone who loves good gelato should at least visit this place once. I know I?m going back to gelato classico on my next visit to enjoy a great gelato in a wonderful location. Pros: great gelato and friendly service more

The owner needs some respect for himself if he wants his name back. 7/4/2007

While we paid at the counter, the owner just put the change on the counter in a very rude way that made us feel we were back to the darkest era in history: we became the most humble peasants begging for his mercy! What a ridiculous scene in 21 century. I suggest the owner take some lessons if he doesn't know how to serve or just hire someone who can serve instead of himself. And what a shame that the best of 2006 from Voice is still hanging in the store! Cons: The service attitude ruttened everything more

The owner desperately needs anger management / customers relationship classes 6/15/2007

I had the most horrible experience in my life at this place. My wife and I went for some gelatos. As usual, the line was long. We waited it out and we ordered separate cups. We came across a coupon lately, so I presented the coupon and told him that I had the coupon before he punched in the numbers at the register. He ignored what I said (and I said in a clearly audible voice) and punched in the numbers. Then right after the punching, he looked at me and told me ""You showed me the coupon too late and screwed up the machine!"" What? Late? Screw up? I was shocked, but I did not want to ruin a good night out with my wife. So, I told him that I would pay in full this time and maybe use the coupon next time. He was very much fixated on the fact that I showed him the coupon too late. I repeated myself. Still, he accused me of showing the coupon late and that I screwed up the total. I had to say something at this point, so I told him that I clearly showed and said that I had a coupon. He then shouted at me ""No, that's not going to work! You get out of the store! Get out of the store!"" and threw the coupon at me. What is his problem? I told him that he\r should not treat a customer in such a manner. His voice grew louder and more agitated ""I don't want you to come back to the store! Get out of the store! I will call the police!"" At this moment, I was thinking of the soup n*** episode in the Seinfeld series. I told him to please call the police, but he never got close to the phone. I told him that I'd rather pay for the gelatos. He shouted ""You want to pay, so then pay!"" He took my 20 dollar bill and threw the change at me and repeated that I should leave. I think he needs an anger management or customers relationship class. For those attempting to use a coupon, be aware and let it be known that you have been chosen to carry the coupon as soon as you step in the store. As for me, I will not go to the place anymore other than maybe tip him for the classes he desperately needs. Cons: The owner and his problems. more

boorish service 9/24/2006

On September, 23 around 5pm my son and I walked into the store to order ice cream for him and milk shake for me. The nice shop assistant helped with ice cream, but when I ordered milk shake another assistant(looks like the owner) came in and started to teach the first how to make milk shake. After waiting some time (my son was already outside with his dad waiting \r for me) I decided to pay only for ice cream. So I paid and left the store. Immediately after that the manager came out from the store and yelled on me ""Never come to my place, because you embarrass me in front of my student"". He was screaming in front of my son, my husband and people on the street which is awful and so boorishness so at that moment I was absolutely speechless and frustrated. Also I want to mention that the chairs outside the store were locked by some metal wire, so people cannot sit normally. How this place could be a winner during several years in ice cream business and service?! more

Poor Service! 5/23/2006

I went here with several friends recently and was unimpressed with the service. We waited patiently for our turn to order. When we finally got to the counter (about a 30 minute wait), we were told that one of our selections was out of stock. Instead of asking us for a replacement, the server then proceeded on to the next group of customers. Could he not have started serving the six other flavors that we had ordered while we decided on the last flavor??? On top of all that, after he finished serving the customer behind us, he had the audacity to ask ""who is next?""!!!! It should have been perfectly obvious as to who was next; in the end he served the next set of customers, completely ignoring our order. Will never again eat here b/c of the poor service! Cons: poor service, needs more help, bad customer relation more

One of the best! 1/27/2006

This place is very popular and they are always packed (the line usually moves fast) on the weekend all the way till closing time. They are open late, so you can have Gelato at 10 or 11pm on the weekends when all the other local places are closed. They are right downtown near lots of local restaurants and bars, so you can just walk down the street after your meal for dessert. The Gelato is great with dozens of flavors, so there is somthing that will please everybody. Pros: Great Gelato, Right downtown, Lots of flavors more

Best gelato 2/28/2003

I like this cute little ice-cream shop a lot. The green tea gelato brings smile to my face anytime when I eat it. more
