Wonderful as usual. Makes you feel like you are in Tuscany 3/9/2012

Last night my husband and I went to Fusco's Via Roma in downtown historic Acworth. We are regulars and love the food and atmosphere. I ordered the Duck. Chef David outdid himself if was served with pear and brandy reduction and was a true foodie experience. If you are visiting Cobb County we would highly recommend a visit to Fusco's. Pros: null Cons: null more

Terrible dining experience 8/28/2011

Tonight my husband and I went to Fusco's to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first visit. I wouldn't go back. Let me explain. The owner barely greeted us. He seemed angry and preoccupied. The ambiance is irritatingly hustle-bustle and loud, with formulaic Frank Sinatra music and vases of used wine corks. It's almost a parody of what a "typical Italian" restaurant is supposed to be like. We ordered. My husband's steak was excellent, as was his wine. Things were looking up. But the first clam I tried in my linguine with clam sauce was rubbery. I tried another and it too was chewy. Our server promptly offered to have the dish prepared again and whisked it back to the kitchen. Moments later, a cook appeared with a menu, brusquely and unapologetically suggesting that I choose something else to eat, as there was nothing wrong with the dish. He then turned and walked away. I was stunned. I declined to order another meal and instead just sat there, trying to understand what had just happened. Our poor server seemed embarrassed by the whole episode and tried her best to make the rest of our evening pleasant. She was the bright spot in an otherwise terrible dining experience. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the metro Atlanta area; this one is truly not worth the time and expense. more

Good food kinda pricey 12/24/2010

I love Italian food & this place does a good job. My only complaint is that they are slightly overpriced . Pizza & Italian food are easy to make delicious & cheaper so I know they can do it. Other then that the place looks great & the staff is friendly. more

Always Fresh, Always Fabulous 9/4/2010

We are regulars usually once a week my husband and I have dinner here. The atmosphere is fun and fabulous. The food is extroidinary. We hate chain restaurants and will always choose Fusco's over a chain. more

Nice Non Coorporate Owned Dining 8/17/2010

Great place.. Filet is amazing along with chocolate souffle for dessert. more

Outstanding food and service! 8/17/2010

I've dined at Fusco's numerous times and have never been disappointed. I travel the entire country and haven't found a better Italian restaurant than right here in downtown Acworth. Fusco's has great service, a warm atmosphere and wonderful food. What more can you ask for? Mangia! more

Awesome dining experience! 8/16/2010

Loved, loved, loved this place! The drinks are delicious and original. The food is really good and keeps you coming back for more. Even though I was stuffed, I still kept eating because it was so delicious! Try this place out, Acworth is a very cute city with lots of charm and Fusco's does a good job at creating a wonderful dining experience. more

Compared to trendy Inman park, WAY above the crowd! 8/9/2010

I'm always surprised at the Decatur-Drones reviews of the trendy places in Inman Park, compared to what you see at places like this. Great flavor, traditional Italian without trying to re-invent Lasagna 7 ways to Sunday. I've eaten here 3 times, and each time the service was fine, the food was good, and the experience was worth the price. more

Great food, rude owner 2/9/2009

My husband and I dined at Fusco's on February 7th. Once we got past the rude owner, we had a very pleasant experience. We had a 6 pm reservation, and the owner led us to a table, but we preferred a booth. When my husband went to check on a vacant booth, the owner very rudely tapped him on the back and abruptly said, "Sir, that booth is reserved for another party," turned around, and walked away. I suggest this establishment either start asking their customers when making a reservation if they prefer a booth or a table, or find somebody more pleasant to greet the customers. It's too bad the evening had to start off on a bad note, because after that, the service and food were outstanding. more

Pretty setting, so-so food and service. 10/22/2008

Four women recently walked in to Fusco's for an early dinner on a weekday. Only two other tables (a total of four other diners) were seated, and were already started on their appetizers. Nonetheless, we four waited for more than 15 minutes to get the attention of our waiter to come for our drink orders. Once given, the drinks took another 15 minutes to arrive. By this time, we were starving, but menus had not even been given to us. We asked for menus, raced through them to find something that could be prepared and served quickly. and once again hunted down the waiter. He finally acknowledged our presence so we placed our orders and asked for some bread. Ten minutes later...no bread. Fifteen minutes...no bread. Twenty minutes later...out came the entrees, followed 10 minutes after that by the bread. Other diners had finished and were waiting for their checks. They waited; we ate. As soon as the waiter handed over the check to the table next to us, we told him that we were ready for ours, too. (We weren't, really, but didn't want to endure another wait.) That proved to be good planning. When we were finished, we waited yet another 10 minutes for the check. Pros: Pretty setting in historic section of town. Cons: Abominable service. more

Hip, European-style sophistication comes to Acworth! 8/23/2008

Let's see...where should I begin? I just can't believe the good reviews of this place. It must be true that some folks don't care about how the food tastes just so long as there's a lot of it! I guess that either these folks are just plain uniformed, or they must either work for Fusco's Via Roma or they are friends of the owner. The food is only average AT BEST. If I was living in Acworth and had a choice between Krystals or this place, I'd most likely pick this place. I guess it comes down to a lack of choice in this town and a lack of sophisticated taste buds. A fool and his money are soon parted! Pros: Pretty place and it tries to be hip and cool Cons: folks who run this place don't know what they are doing! superficiality but no quality! more

Excellent Food 5/31/2008

We absolutely love Fusco's. I work close and eat there at least 2-3 times a week. I love their daily specials. The soup of the day is always great and their hamburgers are excellent. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very attentive, without breathing down your neck. Great place to have lunch or dinner. The town where they are located has great shopping and great finds that you do not find in the local malls. It is a perfect way to spend an afternoon after eating a delicious meal. True Italian food at it's best. Pros: Excellent Italian Food, Great location more

Delicious Food 3/14/2008

I was skeptical of this restaurant when I read the reviews on here. They seem to be either glowing and full of exclamation marks (obviously written by the restaurants owners), or very critical. My skepticism was seemingly confirmed as soon as we entered, and the hostess couldn't find our reservation ("Did you talk to a guy?" she asked. Fire that guy.) After we were seated, we were told it was Frosty Friday, and all draft beers were offered at reduced price. 3 bucks or so isn't bad for a draft Peroni. We ordered soup, salad, and our entrees, and we were all pleasantly surprised. The soups were warm and delicious, and I ordered the Farfalle Diana, which made up for the use of boxed pasta with a delicious creamy tomato sauce and three HUGE scallops cooked perfectly. I finished off the scallops, and took home the rest of the pasta, which was delicious the next day for lunch. After a while, the place filled up, and got a little noisy. This is not your romantic Italian place. A good place for dinner with the family, or drinks at the bar with friends. The food is great, but service may miss the mark. Pros: Food was delicious, good drink specials. Cons: Lost reservation, parking is difficult, can get noisy. more

I've had better meals at Waffle House 1/26/2008

The owner was very nice and accomodating. The server was clueless. The food was terrible. I've had better canned spaghettios. Honestly. The salad was pathetic. A few lettuce leaves with two croutons. The broccoli rabe was recommended and it tasted like i sauteed some weeds from my backyard. The pasta rivarra was recommended and it was dry, flavorless and cold. The bruschetta was the best part of the meal, yet the tomato garnish had soaked into the ends of the bread leaving much to be desired. I spent $20 including tip and my friend and I had split the bill. We shared our broccoli (EUUUEWWW) rabe, pasta dish which we each had about 4 bites of, and the side salads and bruschetta. we both drank water. and the bill was $35. Waffle house, here i come. If you're going to dine for a romantic special occasion or just to take the family and enjoy a fabulous italian meal, from everything from appetizer and wine to dessert and coffee, i HIGHLY recommend Ippolitos. Great food for the money and you'll leave with your doggie bag fantasizing about having leftovers for lunch the next day. more

Not that great and overpriced for what you get 1/12/2008

Nice atmosphere and service, that was about it. Non seasoned calamari, very bland stuffed mushrooms, extremely salty spinach, Expensive veal ($23.95 for a dish so smothered in ground mustard sauce that you could have had any thing under it and still think it was veal), and Stouffers makes better lasagna. Not worth the $65 dollar bill, especially since we did not have drinks. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: poorly flavored and sauced food more

Mediocre Italian 9/15/2007

My wife and I tried Fusco's per a recommendation from our friends. We had been craving mussels since moving to the greater Atlanta area so we figured we'd try them at Fusco's. First, the ambiance is very nice. A fairly romantic spot in downtown Acworth. Second, I was impressed that they had three varieties of Sweetwater beer on tap. Kudos to supporting the local brewery! We did not have wine that night, but the list was certainly adequate. The pineapple martini my wife had was below average, unfortunately. The mussels mostly tasted fresh and the sauce was good, however about one-third were unopened and they put bread at the bottom which sopped up all the sauce. The price-tag on the mussels was around $12 which we thought was a bit much for a handful and many unopened. My wife had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken that was only fair; not as creamy as others we've had. I had a sausage and pepper sandwich which I thought was quite tasty, but pretty safe. We did not opt for dessert. Overall a nice ambiance with only average food. Our friends have been back at least once... We will not likely return. Pros: Ambiance Cons: Slow service and average food more

Actual Real Italian food served up with style and class! 7/27/2007

We live nearby and everytime we drive past, we drool and look longingly. From the first day when we tasted their tomato bisque soup to the birthday dinner we had recently, we never tire of this place. Every single dish is just amazing. The owners are Italian and tend to their customers personally. One evening they served a free wine just to taste it. I recommend this place to anyone who gets tired of corporate Italian and wondering where the money goes. We know right where it goes, straight to the family preparing the meals and they deserve every penny! Teresa in Acworth Pros: Ambience, service, coziness, amazing dishes Cons: Just a tad pricey but worth it. more

All time favorite Italian food restaurant! Terrific! 7/16/2007

Fuscos has become our favorite restaurant with us frequenting there at least once a week. It is "our" place for my husband an me. A place to escape the pressures and stresses of the day! A very relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious food! Over the past year we have tried just about everything on the menu, and not even once have we been disappointed! Therefore, I refrain from suggesting any one particular dish! Every item is lovingly and carefully prepared with a wonderful freshness that is evident in every bite! This is a place where the customer is "king"! The owner and staff go out of the way to meet every need and exceed expectation! They have a reasonable price list, and just about anything you could want from an authentic Italian restaurant! We are always pleased to brag about Fuscos to our friends and relatives and always meet the nicest people dinning in the restaurant. It's a special place I believe after one visit you will agree! Good luck for continued success to Fuscos! Sharon Pros: Deilicious food, great atmosphere, polite & friendly service! more

European ambiance, Professional friendly staff, Sensitive to the 7/13/2007

Fuscos is far more than merely a restaurant, it is a dining EXPERIENCE! Without the pretentiousness of all too many haute cuisine restaurants that are all appearance signifying nothing, FUSCOS is the real deal; a fine restaurant in the European manner, where the enjoyment of a meal becomes a night out to be savored. Yes, the food is incredible...and I have eaten in the finest the U.S. and the world have to offer.. but, in their striving for excellence, Fuscos retains the casual, welcoming, evening to be enjoyed experience that is all too often lost in the U.S., an atmosphere that carries over in notions like community, enjoyment, relaxation, conversation and so much more, like that found in the cities and villages of Europe. Enjoy the veranda, the music, a drink before dinner, then LATER a fine ensalta misto replete with fresh fennel. A bit of good bread with just the right touch of a rich olive oil and a touch of GOOD parmagiana reggiano, maybe with some wonderful Montepulciano...now THAT's Italian. Meanwhile the lyrics of Sinatra, Jerry Vail, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, Jerry Vale and others both sooth and serve to set the tone for a sumptuous repast. I love their appetizers and authentically prepared vegetable dishes, but all in good time! more

Portions a-plenty, great wine and a romantic night out 12/27/2006

My husband took me for my birthday. The bruchetta was mouth-watering and the Santa Marta Pino Grigio was the best I've had in awhile. The portions were plenty. I took home half of my lobster primavera, which was creamy and delicious. They put a candle in my slice of raspberry-topped cheesecake which was excellent! Friday night was quite crowded and we had to wait a few minutes although we had reservations. The service was prompt, although waitress was a bit overbearing. It's very romantic and a great place for couples dining. I was hoping for a cute table for two, but the booth wasn't so bad. It's the best italian place I've been to in the south. I would definitely recommend it. Pros: Great wine, wonderful food, romantic Cons: had to wait although we had reservations more
