Friendly Electric came to my house to diagnose/fix a fluctuating power problem. The technician surveys the circuits and hands us a contract for $ 396 (incl tax) to further diagnose and fix the problem. After agreeing to the contract, the technician goes out and check the power cable connected to the electric post outside. He tells my wife to call the power company to have them fix the problem. The technician then proceeds to bill us with the amount of the contract without even looking inside our circuit box and wiring. more

Complete scam. Bait and switch tactics when it comes to pricing. Sweet talk and quote a competitive price at first, then attempt to extort more at time of actual work. Once work is complete, add additional charges that were never previously mentioned. Zero transparency, bait and switch tactics, total scum of a business. more

I had my electric service upgraded. From initial contact with service office to electricians who completed the work...customer service was prime focus. I highly recommend Friendly Electric! more

We had a unit put in by this company in July 2010. From July 2010 through Sept 2010 we had them out to our house a number of times trying to figure out why our house wasn't cooling with a new a/c unit. Finally after I did some research I realized they put the wrong size unit in our house. They replaced the unit in Sept 2010. Summer of 2011 we had them out 3 times to fix the new unit we had just gotten the Sept before. And now, here we are, Aug 2012 and it is not working again. And we are having the same troubles we had last summer and now it is a Sat and they will not come to fix unless we pay $120. Worst company ever. DO NOT USE THEM. Terrible! more

We've used this company for 9 years but the last 2 years have gone way downhill. Their prices are off the charts and if you manage to call and talk to the owner, Gabriel, he will knock the price down. I'm done with the haggling. Today they were here to install a ceiling fan. Almost $600 later and it is done. I was charged $119 just to have the remote installed because it was a peripheral and wasn't included in the box, even though the same company made it and it just needed to be attached to the housing before it was shoved but into the ceiling. Also, their service plan. It's a 12 month commitment even if you want to cancel. So unless you plan on "saving" more than $100 by using them, it's not worth it. We've been loyal customers for 9 years but today they are fired and I'll find someone new to use from now on. more

Office staff extremely efficient and dispatcher kept me advised of when the technician would arrive. Technician was very pleasant, and made a through presentation, including literature about health and safety issues. Would love to do business with them, but the quote to install electricals in my home to hook up a portable electric generator was almost triple other quotes received. more

Friendly Electric replaced our two-zone air conditioning and heating system, and also updated the electrical box and meter in our home. The service was extraordianarily prompt and couteous. All 5 or so technicians who did the work were competent, and they kept appointments promptly. It was a big job, but they completed the work on time. They were very neat and respectful, a pleasure to deal with. So far, we are completrely satisfied with the work. We would have no hesitation in using this company again. Our thanks to both Brians, Bruni, and the other men who did the work at our home. A great team and a great company! more

Darious and Chris F were here helping us with a great deal of lightning damage. They were so nice and so professional. They stopped periodically to make sure I understood what was wrong and what they were doing to rectify the problem. They were polite and considerate and very helpful. I plan to use them for all my electrical needs from now on. more

Our air conditioner went out on July 22. We have a newborn baby so this was an emergency that we get our air fixed a.s.a.p. My wife and I called PSE&G and they told us that our air conditioner dying was not considered an emergency, even after i told them we have a newborn. My wife then found friendly electric online and we had 2 techs come by in less than 2 hours! They were the friendliest workers i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Chris and Darius were so friendly and funny too! It was like having two family members work on our house, that's how comfortable they made us feel. Upon further inspection of our busted air conditioner they found that we needed a new electrical box! Thank god they found this problem or else we could have had a fire! My wife and baby stayed at my parents house while we got the air working. Within a few days my wife and baby came back to our home with a brand new comfortable air conditioner. We also purchased their yearly maintenance plan where they will come and service our unit. I cannot say enough good things about friendly electric! After this experience, with Friendly Electric, we canceled our PSE&G "worry free" plan. more

Will only ask for Chris F. if I need service again as his customer service and technical skills are that hard to find. Once you have had the best, you don't want to try the rest. Never let this guy go. more
