Fox Moving & Storage

These people are bad news. Stored my furniture for 2 years and managed to lose $2000. worth and did several hundred in damage. Then the overcharged me by several hundred$$. They have over 25 complaints filed against them at the BBB. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from them. more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!\r \r They are just bad people. Our move was out of state but was terrible from start to finish. These guys actually broke or scratched everything they touched.\r \r In the process of the move we learned the whole moving team had been incarcerated at some point and time and proved themselves untrustworthy. \r \r When we tried to contact them to get a resolution we were told they did not guarantee our belongings would be delivered in good shape, just that they would still work.\r \r \r Again please, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! more

Not going to bore you with the details. After multiple conversations I can tell you that the office/dispatch staff are very poorly trained. No organization, communication, customer service, or problem solving skills. I had a small, local move and self-packed so it should have been a breeze.\r \r I emailed the office after my move to bring up issues – never got a response. Happily, they didn't bother responding to Bank of America either after I initiated a complaint, so BOA credited me the amount Fox's ineptitude cost me. Beware good reviews as Fox has been caught writing their own.\r \r There is a reason Fox was kicked out of the Better Business Bureau. Cheaper sometimes ends up being more expensive - clearly the case with Fox Movers. **Full Disclosure - the guys who FINALLY showed up were great and worked hard. ** more

I'm not able to physically move things, as I once did, so I paid the highest quote I got, because the Rep for Fox, assured me that things would be taken down, and re-assembled the same way, at the new address. It was a higher standard, and I needed that, so I paid the high price. I thought I was hiring the pros. What I got was the worst amateur moving job I have ever seen, and I am left to sort out all of my belongings. Boxes were labeled as to what area to take them, and the largest portion ignored those directions. Parts of items were separated, so re-assembling them,for instance, requires me to find one part in a bedroom, and the rest in the garage. Items were broken, as the crew had no idea how professional packing and stacking works. \r \r If you are tempted to hire fox, I would suggest that you instead, go to one of the corners where laborers are looking for day work, and hire them. The Fox guys have no more experience, and no training in the moving business. The guys who picked up, packed poorly, but did seem like they had done this before. The delivery guys, however, were a totally new crew, who had no idea how things came apart, so they didn't even attempt putting things back together. They didn't know what they had in their load, and althought they were nice guys, they really didn't care. They claimed to work for Fox full time, but no one with over 3 days experience could have been this bad. One spent time pitching his other services to me. The load looked liked it had been ejected from a dump truck. Hire laborers at $7 an hour. I'm sure that's what Fox did, and charged me thousands for booking them. It will cost an equal amount to replace the broken stuff. I think some is also missing. but it will take weeks to sort this out to even know, if items are missing, or just hidden in the pile they left. This job was so bad that I have been anxious to write this review, and warn others. It took a while because my stuff is in such shambles that it has been a full time job to sort out this move, and there is still plenty of work to do, that I paid for, and now am having to do myself. more

What happened to Laura M and Dustin below happened to me exactly. Their story sounds just like mine. I got ripped off by this company. It cost me triple what it would have cost with another company. I have nothing good to say about this experience and they should not be in business. more

Absolutely avoid this company. They do not handle your belongings with care, nor do they try to fix the situation after they damage your things. Make sure to read all reviews at several sites. They are overall negative, and I wish I had done a better job of researching prior to using them. They are a horrible company only interested in getting your money. STAY AWAY FROM USING THEM! more

Worst management/ownership of all time. Ended up costing me double of what it should have cost. They failed to mention hidden cost and I ended up paying over $1,200 for a $400-$500 job. Owner told me there was nothing he could do and then hung up on me. Movers themselves were nice and tried to help, but DeVaughn and the owner were rude and incompetent. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Also, the positive reviews are obviously written by employees. Check all the other websites and you'll see nothing but negative reviews. more

Awful company. Brittney (office mgr) set up appt to move our stuff and to hold in their storage facility with no additional charge since we had to wait another 3 days before moving into house. She said it would be free and "" no big deal"". After 2 hours moving about 10 small boxes, the movers realized that we were doing storage and informed us that 'inventory' would have to be taken. Another 2 hrs went by while they took inventory and moved nothing. At the rate they were moving it would have literally taken another 4 hrs to inventory what was left, plus actually get everything else on the truck, then they would have to inventory again on the back end of the move. We called the manager ""devaughn"" to try to discuss some options as this was quickly turning into a 10 hr job versus 3. Devaughn never apologized for the inconvenience and rudely yelled and talked over my husband the whole time. We wanted a different solution than the inventory option, especially when brittney never informed us that inventory would have to be done and might take longer. Finally we got the owner on the phone who was even more rude and hung up on my husband. Final outcome: decided to pay $150 per night to keep items on truck 3 nights. Had to pay 6 hrs of time at $100 per hour (for only 1000 sq ft). And my whole family ended up moving all of our things down to the truck since it was taking an eternity. Fox screwed us out of at least $500. They try to ""keep the meter running"" at all costs. Their better business bureau status has been revoked if that tells u anything. They are one of the cheapest rates in town because this company, the owner and it's people are cheap, incompetent, and inconsiderate. Save your sanity and your money!!!!!!! more
