Four Star Realty manages my townhomes in south Boulder and they do a phenomenal job. I don;t even live in CO, but they have done nothing but good things for me. I was touring my properties last week, and they are all in great condition. I am happy I can trust the management services of Four Star! more

These folks unfortunately have no idea of how to service landlords based on my experience and apparently have no interest in servicing tenants either based on the feedbacks. It's unfortunate. more

i cant even give them a partial star--after almost 2 years i am being faced with eviction after being told exactly how to make up back rent due to a personal dispute between myself and a roommate -after sending a payment with the exact arrangements-which was accepted by four star realty--i was given an eviction notice any way--they recieved my payment --but--do not acknowledge the payment agreement--and decided to tack on all sorts of late charges with the threat of being sued for that also--i moved into my apt with the expectation of a long term place to live--now i see that they are only interested in tenants who will pay as much as they can suck out of them!! more

Not Good with People or Money 5/9/2011

Our landlord uses FourStar in Boulder as a property management company for our residence in Denver. This last month they had someone personally post a notice, around noon, telling us we had until the end of day to resolve our 'unpaid rent' or face stiff fees and legal action. We were perplexed as we had paid using a check and a money order, they had been mailed together, and the check had been cashed. It took three hours, lost from work, to figure out the money order had indeed been cashed, at the same bank and on the same day the check had been cashed. When we contacted the individual in charge of our property, Stacey Stambaugh, with the information. She said she would look into it. She called back and informed us that they had credited a different property with the money order payment, despite the correct rental address being written on the money order. No apology was offered for their mistake only a terse statement that we would not be responsible legal and late fees. Because there was no apology I asked them to contact us with an advance notice should something like this occur in the future (which is actually part of the lease agreement). Stacey refused saying she did not have time to call 25+ renters who were delinquent to check and see if any mistakes were made. She didn't seem to get that it was her company's mistake. When I informed her that between all involved at the residence several hours of work had been missed to resolve the issue she was not sympathetic, claiming it was our responsibility to make sure that our account was up to date on their website. I had never heard of this option. She claimed to have emailed it to me but also mentioned they did not have an email on record for me. While I understand people make mistakes, Stacey Stambaugh was unwilling to take responsibility for her company's mistake. A simple apology would have smoothed things over. Instead she decided to imply we were delinquent renters even after indicating it was the result of an error of someone in her company. The final word is don't rent from them. more

I just wanted to write about the best experience I have had with Four Star Realty in Boulder. I recently moved here from Kansas and was looking for a rental in Boulder. I work 6 days a week and the only time I was able to look at rentals was on a Sunday. Four Star is closed on Sundays but I spoke with a really nice woman named Alisha and she showed me several rentals on her day off. Alisha really went out of her way to help me find my rental. It's people like her that make Four Star a great company. I will recommend Four Star Realty to everyone I know. more

DON'T RENT FROM THEM 11/17/2010

More like ZEROSTAR! We rented a property through Four Star Realty for 2 years. We had to re-clean just about everything in the house on the day we moved in because the ?professional? crew they hired did such a poor job. There was major cat urine damage/smell that saturated the whole place from the previous tenant. We lived in a cat urine saturated rental property for two months before Four Star Realty was able to remedy the situation. One of the showers in the home was disgusting upon move in. It had permanent black mildew and staining throughout the tiles, grout and floor. We mentioned this to both Four Star and the owners when they visited. Nothing was done. Then the house went on the market and all of a sudden several repairs were ordered. We were told that the shower would be retiled. 6 tiles were replaced as opposed to correcting the entire pre-existing problem in the shower. After we moved out, we were charged extra for cleaning excessive mildew buildup in that shower and when we contested these charges we were told it was our fault, and that is completely false. When the house was on the market, we endured contractors working in the home until 8pm at night, and house viewing almost on a daily basis for four months (two of those months our efforts were not recognized in any way). We were promised things but since the house didn?t sell, the promises were forgotten. Then to top it all off, after we moved out we had to wait the full 60 days to get 10% of our security deposit back. They charged outrageous amounts for cleaning, yard work and carpet cleaning and fixing things and replacement parts we had nothing to do with. We cleaned that place better than it was when we moved in. The carpet was practically brand new and yet we were charged for extensive cleaning. When we requested a review of all this we got an itemized reply with false information about several items. The bottom line is, if you don?t like being taken advantage of then DO NOT RENT THROUGH FOUR STAR REALTY. Once you sign that lease-YOU WILL PROBABLY NEVER SEE THE MAJROTIY OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK no matter what condition the property is in when you move out. Make sure anything that you are promised is in writing before making any efforts. more

Great rental experiance 3/11/2010

I rented from FourStar Realty in 2008 and 2009 and found the service to be excellent. My maintenance requests were handled quickly and easily and when I had to move to Canada for a job relocation and break my lease, Dave was great in helping me find a new tenant. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will recommend FourStar Realty to everyone I know looking to rent in the Boulder area. Pros: great service more

AVOID 7/27/2009

I am just irritated that I gave them $2000 for a deposit ( $500 per pet plus $1000) . According to their lease they have 60 days before they are required to return it to you. Well you can count on them taking the entire 2 months - even if all the inspections were completed the day after you leave. Additionally, their standard fees are ridiculous - upon leaving we were given praise by 4Star for how much we cleaned - yet in the end the ""standard fees"" still added up to $345. In addition to all this, don't expect them to respond to you unless it is convenient for them. We rented in the fall with the expectation of using the advertised fireplace. We used it for about 2 weeks which was great until the unit above us complained of smoke entering their home. We contact 4star - they sent someone to clean it, we tried a fire again, but still the smoke entered the unit above. From then on, 4Star basically said too bad - it is the owner and the HOA's problem. Turns out this problem was already a known issue. So our heating bill went up and we never heard from them again. more

Tried to make me pay a lot more for damages then what would've cost. Probly could've hired it out for 1/5th of what they charge. Just a crappy company looking to take advantage of rich college kids. Terrible Reality Company in Boulder, CO 8/10/2008

Four Star Reality Company provides the worst service to it's customers and unfortunately their target market is College Students whose parents pay their rent without question. I have been associated with Four Star for two years and I have hated every day of it. Amanda Gresiak was our property manager who would avoid us when we had questions about absurd charges every month. All of my friends who had to deal with four star have absolutely hated it as well. If anything breaks in your house and you ask four star to fix it, it can take up to a month. When asked to do walk-throughs, Four Star refuses to set up appointments and avoids their customers. Over $9000 has been practically stolen from me and my roommates from two years of security deposits that should have been given back but instead were taken for a total of 2 hours of cleaning and painting. NEVER SIGN A LEASE WITH FOUR STAR. They are corrupt and will take advantage of you in any way possible. Pros: NOTHING Cons: Absurd Charges, Rude Treatment from Employees more

Scam Artists 3/8/2008

I am 32 years old and moved to Boulder not knowing anyone, hence no company recommendations! After nine months of living in an OVER PRICED Four Star Realty listing, I was charged $1,581.61. That was in August 2007. It is now March 2008, and we still have not settled our disagreement. There was no damage done to the property. In fact, it was in better shape when I moved in. They have lied, stood me up on appointments, and refused to do a final walk though and meet with myself and my attorney when I realized they were going to try and take advantage of me. Unfortunately they are used to wealthy college kids whose parents just pay the bill without question. I, however, am and ""old"" college kid who values money and is on a strict budget. Please do not engage in any sort of business transaction with these unethical individuals. Cons: They will take advatage of you any way possible. more
