The last straw; unbelievable treatment 1/15/2013

Today was the last straw of many disappointing experiences with Dr. Forrester; after five years, I will be finding another doctor. I have had two acute issues in that time, both requiring getting into specialists offices for testing and surgeries. She provided zero support in both cases.\r \r I decided perhaps she is only helpful within her four walls. She has always been cold and impersonal, but at least I thought competent. Today, I went for an appointment for both a possible uterine disorder and also an exam post a ski accident where the pain is getting worse. The office was overbooked today with a doctor out, so I waited an hour for my appt. I understood, and was patient. When I brought up the shoulder injury, Dr. Forrester refused to discuss it or examine me; she said she was overbooked, and could deal with it today, I would have to come back for another appointment. I told her I was in a lot of pain, and concerned I had broken something. She repeated I would have to come in more

Patient 12/18/2011

My experience as I look back on it was shocking. I went to see Cheri Forrester on a Friday with severe flu symptons only to be told to go home. I could hardly drive myself home yet she just dismissed me with out any advice what so ever. I ended up in the emergency room two days later and ICU that night where I spent a week and almost left this earth. My one and only child alomost lost me. There was never so much as a call to my frantic husband (who also is a patient of her's) to see how I was doing. She simply showed up at the ICU to "check in" so she could bill the insurance company. I had been going to her for at least 10 years. She is cold and has no bedside manner what so ever. My husband received more assurance and attention from close friends (who are also doctors) and the attending doctors in Marin General ICU.\r \r I would not recomend her with a 10 foot pole....very unhappy more

Mr. Kaplan 9/24/2011

This was the last straw, I always found her difficult to talk to and very little bed side manner. In May I had really bad back pain, I could hardly move. I called to get in so I could get a referral to the spine center, she had previously seen me for this issue. I begged to speak with her or provide a referral, I never received a call back, I kept calling and calling, this was on a Wednesday. She finally called and left a message with my wife that I could pick up some vicodin and muscle relaxers and schedule an appointment for Friday becuase she was out Thursday, she did not tell me to make an appointment with one of her other associates or give me a referral. I saw one of her associates and got the referral, turns out I had a huge herniation in my L4 & L5 vertabrae and had to go to Marin General for a Nerve root steriod. When I finally spoke with her and explained my displeasure she simply said I was expecting to much, she never once asked me how I'm feeling. I fired her and now I se more

Appreciative patient 11/8/2010

Cheri Forrester has been my primary care physician for almost 25 years. She helped me through a difficult pregnancy 22 years ago, and has been there through many medical problems since. She seems to truly care about my well-being. I don't think of her demeanor as cold. She is very straight-forward, business-like and knowledgable. I don't need a doctor to be my new best friend, and I accept that I, too, am responsible for my health and well-being. She knows who I am and asks about my children. I have another doctor I see for a specialized problem that doesn't recognize me when I come in, calls me "sweetie", and passes me off to his assistant every chance he gets. With Cheri, I get personalized service, and I appreciate it. more

Feeling Worse 6/1/2010

Don't seek any kind of help or advice from Dr. Cheri Forrester. The woman is an absolute nightmare. When I recently called the office after hours with the hopes of leaving a message for my doctor, the receptionist suggested I contact the after hours doctor as my issue needed immediate attention, though wasn't quite an emergency. (Mind you, this was in the early evening, and I was experiencing fairly severe withdrawal symptoms from my medication, the refill of which had gotten screwed up at the pharmacy.) When I spoke to Dr. Forrester, giving her a quick rundown of what was going on and why I needed a quick word of advice sooner rather than later, her response was: "And how is this an emergency?" After explaining to her again that I needed a doctor's help and that receptionist suggested I speak with her, I was met with nothing but open exasperation and impatience. She told me to call the office the next morning and basically, in so many words, to **** off. \r \r I guess it was the recepti more

Great Doctor!!! 3/13/2010

I have been a patient of Dr. Forrester for at least 15 years. Luckily I haven't had any significant health problems, but just recently Dr. Forrester discovered a nodule on my thyroid which turned out to be malignant. I'm so thankful she is so thorough when giving a physical. She has been wonderful throughout this ordeal. She listens, is sympathetic and so helpful with her advice. She has even called me during her busy schedule just to ask if there is anything else I need or that she can do for me. This alone proves to me what a compassionate\r doctor she is. I give her a 5 star rating. I'd give her 10 if I could! more

I have had mixed experiences with Forrester both good and bad, so I went to my apt. today with some apprehension. My experience was very positive. She was on time, listened to me, did not rush through my appointment, and provided helpful advice. I am inclined to give her another chance. more

Thank you Dr Forrester, you are appreciated! 9/1/2009

I have been a patient for over 18 years. She has seen me through a divorce, breast cancer, knee and hip operations, new second marriage, and the death of my husband. Always caring and competent, straight forward, she has recommended reading material that was so helpful. She came back from her vacation and to the office early to see me. I could not be in better hands. I greatly appreciate that she is in my life. more

Forrester Cheri J MD is Terrific 8/31/2009

I think Dr. Cheri Forrester is a very good primary care physician. She's been helpful and responsive. I would recommend her to anybody. Her assistant is always cheerful and pleasant. The office is easy to deal with and professional. I have always been able to see or speak with someone from the practice on the phone when I had questions or needed to see someone. I had a very hard time getting into any practice in Marin as a new patient and was grateful that Dr. Forrester was able to take me. She was recommended to me by my ObGyn whom I also hold in high regard. more

Forrester Cheri J MD is cold, uncaring, rude practice 8/14/2009

Horrible experience! I was so disappointed. I was also hung up on twice while trying to book an appointment. I finally got through and was very clear that I needed a complete physical and blood work all in the same day as it is difficult for me to take another day off. I was told by the receptionist that she could order blood work ahead of time and that it wouldn't be a problem. Well weeks had gone by and I hadn't heard from anyone about fasting..etc so I decided to call the day before just to confirm and when I called they said they had not ordered blood work and that they could not do that. When I asked to speak to the doctor they said" Dr. Forrester is too busy to speak to patients". I was livid and very concerned. After I set my appointment I started reading about all the bad experiences many people had and decided to still keep my appointment because it took so long to get another. The receptionist was so rude and cold and I tried to explain the conversation I had stating that blo more

Forrester Cheri J MD is what is wrong with American Health Care 6/17/2009

Why is it so incredibly hard to find a decent Dr.? I unfortunately had a horrible experience with Dr. Forrester. This was my second trip to Prima Med Center, and the first Doctor who I went too, Dr. Nagar, who I found warm and friendly, was not in the office that day. I was bummed that I had to go to another Doctor, and Dr. Forrester, the new Doctor I was scheduled with that day was 100% cold hearted and a huge waste of my money and time. First I was double booked, and spent my time waiting in the examiner room, while Dr. Forrester was treating another patient. When she came her demeanor was cold and rushed. When I gave her some of my medical history and the knowledge I had received from previous Doctor's, she told me "I was terribly misinformed", and threw out some statistics that maybe were relevant in the 1960's, when she was most likely in Medical school. She made me feel stupid and gross. When she finally came back into the room, after almost an hour of me waiting, she told me she more

Very lovely person and good doctor... 4/17/2009

Dr. Forrester has been our family doctor for over a decade. She sees me, my husband and two young children. She is a very intelligent woman and excellent doctor. I trust her completely. I happen to like her bedside manner, as well. If I have an issue that requires more in depth conversation, she will always spend the time with me. Her nurses are wonderful. more

Great Doctor! 2/6/2009

Dr. Forrester has been my mother's and my doctor for years. She first treated my mother which included the diagnosis of breast tumors. They were benign, and removed, and my mother is fine now. Dr. Forrester has since treated me for basic family doctor stuff, and also performs my annual female check ups. She is very kind, patient and capable. I highly recommend her! more

Bad doctor / horrible bedside manner 12/26/2008

I have had consistently bad experiences with Dr. Forrester. I am changing doctors.\r \r She is always very late, has horrible bedside manner, and has misdiagnosed me two times - both of which I ended up in the ER.\r \r Don't choose her. She represents what is wrong with our healthcare system.\r \r One time when she was on vacation, I saw Dr. Poznar in the same practice. He was 100% better. more

Displeased Patient 11/20/2008

Dr. Forrester has the worst bedside manners of any doctor I've ever seen. She comes in with a smile but I always walk away feeling as though I am a waste of her time. I find her to be very controlling and if you do not live up to her standards or advise than you are not worthy of her attention. If a medical issue is brought up during a routine examination she will not discuss the issue for you must make another appointment (which entails more $$$ for her and another 5 minutes or less with the doctor). I do not know why I have been going to her for the past 3 years because every experience I've had with her has made me feel worst than when I walked in the door. Enough is enough and I am going to take my chances with another doctor. The experience could not be any worst than with Dr. Forrester!!! more

She is fantastic and highly skilled and compassionate! 2/28/2008

What is wrong with all these naysayers??? Cheri has been my doctor for 12 years and I think she is great. Sure, she's really busy and can't spend a whole lot of time with patients -- but she does spend sufficient time. Very few doctors these days can sit there endlessly with you and hold your hand and give you a lollipop. Have you ever heard of managed care? That industry is what forces doctors to run around like madpeople -- they don't go through this stress merely for the sake of raking in the loot. I am in awe of Cheri's ability to go from patient to patient and be completely present with each person. Cheri Forrester is an excellent doctor, a kind and wise person, and all the whining reviewers who demand instant service had better check themselves. Special note to the person who says Cheri ruined her arm: Go immediately to the dictionary and look up "Libel." more

Good experiences 12/24/2007

I have known Cheri Forrester for about 20 yrs, and she has been my primary physician for the last 8 to 10 yrs. In the time that I have been a patient of hers, I have come to know her as a kind and knowledgeable doctor who in my opinion really does care about her patients and their well being. There have been several times when I have had to call the office for an "emergency" visit and was fit in her schedule within hours of my call. Never once did I ever feel as though I was rushed through my visit with her. She has always taken the time to listen to me and any medical complaint I might have. All doctors are busy people, and we all have to understand that they also, are human and can do so much everyday. I see Dr. Forrester as an intelligent, warm and kind person who does her absoulute level best to provide proper medical treatment. I have no complaints and feel fortunate to be able to call her " my doctor." She gets 5 out of 5 stars from me. Keep up the good work...I for one more

Hung up on 3 times in a row 12/12/2007

I found this new website with reviews on Dr. F. While I haven't had any particularly bad experiences with her, I haven't really had any *good* experiences either, so I was not at all surprised by the poor reviews she received on this site. Just now, I tried to contact the office to renew a prescription and I was hung up on three times without even the option to leave a message (as I often did in the past). I will be looking for a new GP. more

Over 10 years now - overall experience continues to improve 11/29/2007

I was worried when I read the posts - I'm a patient for over 10 years. The new office ia a great improvement. I missed Diney too, and it seems that the nurse I saw is very good and caring like her. The computerized records also great. On Dr. F, my experience has been overall very good, I have had small problems and very big ones, and I've always received quick feedback, responsive scheduling, and even a phone call in the middle of the night I contacted the exchange in a panic. Dr. F is quiet and contemplative, not outgoing. What people might view as detatchment seems to me her focusing on listening to the patient and thinking through it - she doesn't talk a lot but listens intently. My only negative experience was a harried receptionist when making the appt - but I can understand, it's a big practice and they are still getting used to the new software and procedures. more
