Every meat was dry and over cooked! The salade bar was far from being any close to the word fresh. For $43 easy to get better food in Atlanta! This was a very very bad experience....

Great food- but... 8/29/2008

...the place has been closed for more than a year now. It's going to be a noodle restaurant or something next (if it's not already). more

Brazilian Meat Paradise 5/27/2007

Well first I must say that Downtown Atl seems to be a dead spot after 6pm. Went about 7:30 on a thur and had the place to ourselves. That being said it was an enjoyable experience. more

Surprised and impressed 5/8/2007

It was hard to find, but I'm glad we did... I was a little worried when we walked in and saw that it was smaller than expected and it wasn't very busy (that's usually not a good sign), but my worries disappeared after we were seated. The server quickly greeted us and made us feel like we were guests in her home. She was a little green, but her attitude was terrific, which overcomes experience in my book. The salad bar was small, and very well presented. I am impressed to see what they did with what they had. more

My hat's off to you, fellas! 11/14/2006

My wife and I just got back from one of the most fun times we have had for dinner (although we ate too much to even think about sitting through a movie afterward). The service we received here was the most attentive that I can remember having in a long time... it reminded me of the way restaurants USED to be. I remember that when I asked for anoher piece of the best swordfish I have ever put in my mouth, the server said that I was his boss tonight, and that his job was to get me anything that he could get for me. That surprised me, because most restaurants treat you like you are just another person coming in to eat. The food was good, but the service was great! Pros: Service... I felt very welcome and like an honored guest of the family. Cons: Hard to find... needs better signage or something. more

BAD BAD BAD.....don't even think about trying this place 11/14/2006

Two Words: YEAH, BABY! 10/18/2006

Okay, maybe I need to curb my enthusiasm, but I just got engaged at this gem! There is an old bank vault downstairs - I found the dimmer switch, brought the lights down low and took care of business right there! Pros: The service... attentive without overbearing or rushing us Cons: The tea... and the parking. more

Not worth it! 10/4/2006

This restaurant did not offer a five star dining experience. At the price of almost $100 per person the dining experience was disappointing. The salad bar was just ok. The various meats which we expected to be the finest cuts , were instead tough and dry. Additionally the staff neglected to serve us fish and the complimentary bread was also never brought to our table. There was not a menu to review, so we had no idea what we were suppose to receive with our meal until we had already paid. more

awesome services, great salad bar, good meat, interesting valut 9/27/2006

Exceptional services: i'd say this is one of the BEST services I've received in any of the restaurants i've been to. All the staff were extremely friendly with a great smile. Manager David was extremely knowledgable and approachable. together they make the whole dining experience tremandously fantastic. more

Built for comfort, not built for speed - and I LIKE that! 9/14/2006

The first thing I noticed when I walked into this place is that it wasn't some freak show like you'd exepct to see at Disneyland. No giant archways, grand halls or castles... simply a nice spot to go and eat. Pros: We were welcomed as if in their home! Cons: Hard to find more

What a neat experience! 8/12/2006

This was so much fun! We wanted to do something special for my boyfriend's birthday, and this place totally delivered! The wait staff made sure we were well taken care of... it was different... we had a ""main"" waiter (Great job, Hugo!) and the rest of the staff also kept their eyes out for us and took care of us as well. Pros: Validated parking - GREAT SERVICE!!! Cons: Had to walk a couple blocks for validated parking - Burned calories, though! more

So bad it was kinda funny. 6/4/2006

My husband and I went to Fogao Gaucho by accident (a long story) but we figured we would give it a try, how bad could it be? Answer- very bad. First sign that things were not quite right an empty restaurant (only 3 tables) on a Fri. night at 7:15. The salad bar was tiny with nothing really great to offer. But the real disappointment was the meat - every single piece was well done. How is that even possible? Not a pink piece in sight!!! The gauchos knives were not even sharp enough to cut the meat. I wont even talk about the fish except yuck. I would mention the sides, but there wasnt any. The waiters forgot them. The meal was so bad we couldnt help but laugh about it. The only reason we paid was because we felt so bad for the staff Pros: Not crowded Cons: over cooked meat, expensive more

No Choice No Flavor 3/26/2006

I have been to many Rodezios in the states and in Brazil. This was one of the worst, the meat was mainly overcooked and hard and the salad bar had fewer choices then most fast food restaurants. There was only 1 type of Brazilian beer and it was old dark and lifeless as the Baby Beef. The only Guarana soda available was diet and the desert tray was less than acceptable. My reccomendation go to any other restauraunt anywhere and the meal will be more enjoyable. I was alarmed when on a Saturday Night there were only our table and 3 others being served. A bad sign is always as empty restauraunt! Pros: No Wait, No Line Cons: Good Reason, No Selection more

What is this?--Horrible! 2/16/2006

I am married to a Brazilian and I'm very familiar with churrascarias. This was the worst experience that we have had. The salad bar was horrible with no selection. The steaks were all over-cooked. I asked for mine mal pasado (mediun rare), but they only brought around one cut this way (any other churrascaria would immediately cater to this request). This was followed by more rounds of over-cooked and under-cooked meats. All of this was accompanied by the worst service any churrascaria has to offer. Your plate should be changed out whenever dirty any your every wish should be catered to. We had to continously call the waitress over to change out our plates which were piled high with the unedible meats. None of the customary sides came even though we ordered them. We runied Valintines day and waisted two hours of our lives and $160. Cons: Service, Food, Cost more

What a selection! 1/29/2006

I've never eaten so many different things before in my life. Sausages, chicken four ways - if you include the hearts (we took notes... that many cuts of meat just seemed impossible), pork (good the second time around, a bit dry the first time) and pork ribs, turkey (it doesn't sound all that good, but it was great!), eight beefs (I think two were the same thing though, with and without garlic... go for the garlic), two fishes (salmon... oh yes! the swordfish... maybe not), lamb chops and leg, and one of the guys who comes and does the slicing asked if we would like some hippo or white rhino (I think he was joking... at least I hope so... but with that many things going around, I wouldn't have been surprised). I was dissapointed that there was no alligator, ostrich, buffalo or venison... but I got over it. Pros: I'M STUFFED!!!, Good night's sleep, Great BEER Cons: Hard to find, Hard to get to, Hard to park more

Best atmosphere in Atlanta 10/19/2005

Went for a bachelor party, and had the time of my life. The most important part was they made the groom feel like a King. If you have a large group, make reservations early, and request The ""Basement"". Went back soon after for a business meeting, and made an equally impressive experience for clients. It doesn't get any better for Brazilian. more

are you kidding me 7/21/2005

I will never return, yes it was that bad! This is by far the worst resturant I have ever eating at. None of the meat was cooked properly. Actually I'm not sure exactly what it was I eat. Should have known when the second server brought out buffalo wings. more

Great party spot! 7/2/2005

My brother's bachelor party invaded their downtown location for dinner and the gauchos were ready with their spikes of meat! I recommended them based on their Marietta location, and downtown was (dare I say?) even better! I still can't figure out how they make that lamb taste so good. The private room was ""da BOMB!"" It's an old bank vault with the big door and deposit boxes intact! I have never partied in a vault before! As always, I tip my hat to you! Pros: Great food!, Validated parking Cons: Sala bar upstairs, from the private room more

Best Brazillian Steak House in The World 6/27/2005

I am a meat eating carnivore and I especially love steak. I have come to love the Brazilian steak houses because of their meat sampling smorgageboard. They are an Atkins Dieting paradise. If you love meat, chicken and steak like I do, then you need to check out Fogao Gaucho in Atlanta (either location - there are two) I have not eaten at ANY other steakhouse, Brazilian or other wise that even comes close to the amazing flavors and quality of meats as this place. Steak, Chicken, Lamb, Pork, all of it is superb. The service is phenomenal too. Of the 15 times or so that I have been there I have only had room for desert twice. The second time was because I learned that it was worth it to finish the steak eating early to leave room for the best deserts I have ever had. 5 Stars!! Pros: Great Food, Excellent Service, Atkins Healthy Cons: Belly gets too full, Experience Withdrawl, Never room for desert more

Disappointed 6/9/2005

Overall I was disappointed. The meat selection was few and the cuts were overcooked. If you prefer your steak well done - this is the place for you. Not worth the price. If I pay $42.00 - meal only, no drinks or desserts - it better be worth it! Pros: Location Cons: Expensive, Poor Food more

Really good food. Take it from a Brazilian. 5/30/2005

The other night finally found churasscaria that serves what I know to be real brazilian food. I lived i Brazil for 21 years and in the 5 years I have been in the US, have no real Brazilian food until now! I had a real caipirinhia. Not watered down with real crushed lime and not some mix. The best. ALso I have rice with feijoada and of course great brazilian style meat and more meat. OH yeah, this was the first place I went to and got chicken Hearts and grilled wild salmon. The place plays real brazilian music. I had to ask for the chicken hearts. I highly recommend this place. I will be back Pros: good food, very brazilian, good service more
