Fish 'N Fun Boat Rentals

In response to the prior review; the facts are this: This woman reserved the exact boat she got which was the only boat we had available for the days she wanted when she made the reservation; a NEW 22' Sea-Fox Dual Console boat in excellent condition with a bimini top and this boat is rated for up to 8 people. It was explained completely to her what type of boat it was. When she realized it was not a center console fishing boat she did not want it and we offered another 21' center console boat for one of the days because after that it was reserved for another customer and we told her that if we could rebook the boat to someone else we would refund her...she did not accept this and went with the 22' Sea-Fox. She had her husband and family in a complete frenzy and they were actually apologizing for her behavior. At the end of the rental her husband thanked us for everything and again apologized for her bad behavior. more

Just rented a boat from the RUDEST people I have met in the keys. I did the rental over the phone, and specifically asked for a Fishing Boat. When we got there - Barbara has put us in a leasure craft with surround seats, and few rod holders. When I told her I didn't want this boat, I wanted a fishing boat, she argued with me for 1/2 hour - that she had TOLD me on the phone that this was the boat I rented and there were NO REFUNDS. Absolutely the rudest person I have dealt with on vacation. Boat was a piece of crap, depth finder didn't work, which can be a nightmare in shallow waters in the keys. $225 plus tax/gas/oil for a day that made fishing challenging. Please do your research as there are so many better places to rent from, Barbara and Ray act like they are doing you a huge favor by 'letting you rent their boats'. Steer clear of them, they will bait and switch you and at this point they have your credit card, you won't be getting out of it. more

Our family, which is quite large now, rented two homes in Marathon at Indigo Reef Resort and they recommended Fish n Fun Boat Rentals. We were very happy with Fish 'n Fun from the delivery right to our dock and the knowledge and experience of their personnel. We requested a captain to take us out on the first day of the rental to help us get familiar with the waters around Marathon. He was excellent - gave us a lot of information on where to go and what to do from fishing & diving/snorkel spots to restaurants we could go to on the boat etc. They also rent kayaks and jet skis and we rented two jet skis for a full day for all of our children and grandchildren to enjoy and they delivered and picked them up and again took a great deal of time to go over the operation of the equipment and to answer everyone's questions! I must say their customer service is excellent in every way and we highly recommend this company! A special thank you to this company for helping make this vacation a wonderful time for our family! more

Our family really enjoyed the boat we rented from Fish and Fun Boat Rentals. They have added some new boats to their fleet and they are great! We rented their 26' Proline which was loaded with everything we needed, including dive tank racks! The man that delivered the boat right to our dock was very helpful in providing a lot of local knowledge about the area from fishing spots, to dive spots, to the best places to snorkel as well as some great recommendations for restaurants. Very friendly, helpful people every step of the way! We highly recommend this company due to their excellent service! more

Fish and Fun is the best company we have dealt with due to their service and equipment. Their boats are clean and well maintained and what a pleasure dealing with them from my first phone call to the day they picked up the boat! Their staff is very thorough and very helpful as we were new to this area of the Florida Keys and we asked a lot of questions! We stayed in the Grassy Key area. We also rented kayaks from Fish and Fun which was a lot of fun for everyone too! Pros: CLEAN BOATS! FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT SERVICE! more

These people are cons. We made the mistake of renting from these idiots. The young man whom checked us in said we were the last renters of a boat that day and did not show us anything except a chart of where to go fishing. Their were no life preservers on board and the only thing we were told was leave with three props come back with the three props, we did, then we were accused of running boat aground supposibly an employee heard us say that we did?, but their was only one person when we came back and we did not run aground.We tried telling them this and they wouldnt listen. This place is a joke and are out to screw you. Then the owner threatned me when he called us back because we called and wanted to speak to him ""he stated"" you will pay or else for the prop. his name is Ray. So vacationer beware Fish and fun you'll have no fun. Dont let this stop you from having fun, The Florida Keys are great, we just happpend to meet the worst. My family had planned this vacation for months - we rented two boats from Fish 'n Fun Boat Rentals for a week and both boats were great! One had a T-Top as several of the men in our party wanted to fish mostly and the second boat had a bimini top for more shade for the children. We had many enjoyable days snorkeling, fishing, swimming and just riding around and enjoying the sights on the bay and ocean side. We had a couple of windy days but not too bad to be out and about. Fish 'n Fun boats are are very clean, neat and well maintained. The people that work here are excellent to deal with, very knowledgeable and helpful in every way. They delivered the boats to our vacation rental home and spent a lot of time going over everything with us from the operation of the boats to places to fish, places to snorkel and even local knowledge about places to eat and fun things to do with the children. They also rent jet skis and we went to their beautiful waterfront location to rent three of them for a couple of hours and this was also a wonderful time! We highly recommend this company! On May 3rd 2009 my son David Allison picked up a 26ft. AquaSport open T-Top boat with a Johnson 225 outboard motor. At the time the boat was picked up we were not aware or were we told that the Johnson motor had recently underwent major repairs and was not yet working properly. However we picked up the boat loaded our fishing gear and went off into the Atlantic Ocean for a days fishing. As we were crossing from the Gulf side to the Atlantic side the engine stopped for no apparent reason but was restarted without difficulty. While we were in the Atlantic we had another instance where the engine stopped and again easily and quickly restarted. We had used the boat approximately five and one half (5.5) hours on May 3rd. On May 4, 2009 we again tried to use the boat, we had a hard time getting the boat started at the dock but after several try’s the boat did start and we left the dock around 11:00 am traveling North West in the Gulf approximately seven (7) miles from our dock to a fishing spot we had marked on our GPS last year. Not doing well at that spot we tried to get the boat started and after two or three attempts the boat started we then pulled up anchor and continued in a North Westerly direction about one and one half (1.5) additional miles. After fishing in that spot for an hour or so, we decided to go the Capt. Hooks, fuel up and try fishing in the Atlantic. While running from our second fishing spot toward Capt. Hooks the motor stopped, we were able to get it started again and continued for about another half mile when the motor again stopped and we were unable to get it started. That’s when we call Fish N Fun for advice and assistance; it was now about 3:00 pm and we were about eight and one half miles off shore (N24.49.0898 & W81.0.0728) we were told that someone would come to assist us and someone (who later claimed to be a 50% owner of Fish N Fun Boat & Watersports Rentals) did arrive at 4:15 and took us in tow a short distance then came aboard and tried to start the boat, being unable to get the boat started he returned to his boat and towed us from (N24.49.2282 & W81.0.2276) to Fish N Fun Boat & Watersports Rentals dock (N24.43.0324 &W81.5.0403) a distance of approximately eight and one half (8.5) miles at a speed of six and one half (6.5) M.P.H. a tow lasting over two (2) hours. (My wife Connie had made arrangements for the boat rental approximately two (2) weeks prior to my Son David picking up the boat and charged the rental to our Visa Debit card.) When we arrived at Fish N Fun’s dock I told the person who had towed us in (hereafter called Sam) that I didn’t want to use that boat any more and that I wanted him to refund the money that had been charged to my credit card. I told him that this was the second time that I had rented a boat from Fish N Fun and that the first rented boat was also defective (inoperative bilge pump) and the boat nearly sank with us in the Atlantic last year, I didn’t want any more boats from Fish N Fun. I did agree to pay for one day’s boat rental of $285.00 but that was not acceptable to Sam. Sam kept insisting that I take another much smaller boat for the remaining four (4) days of our agreement. The boat Sam was offering was too small and unsafe for off shore fishing in the Atlantic Ocean and I refused to accept that smaller boat and Sam had no other twenty six (26) ft. boats available. I again asked Sam to refund the unused portion of the money that had been charged to our credit card and again offered to pay $285.00 (the published one days rental for the twenty six (26) ft. boat that we had) but Sam again refused stating that we had rented that boat for the week and we were going to pay the weeks rental fee charged to our credit card (the fee charged was $1,419.00) which was not the agreed upon price when the boat was ordered.
