Best

This is by far the best restaurant I've been to in Las Vegas. Some may say the portions are small, but this is what Tapas are all about... you get a little of everything and I can...

Worst

Excellent place to meet up for drinks, but don't expect to have a romantic dinner for two. This place is overcrowded and LOUD. Getting your bill and receivigg refills at this plac...

Fun atmosphere, interesting food 7/13/2007

Checked out Firefly on a Wednesday night at around 9pm. The place was buzzing but the wait wasn't long. (10 minutes). My date and I were really impressed with the place. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Together, we ate about 6 plates of tapas and split an order of paella and flan for about 58 dollars. The two glasses of sangria brought our total bill to 70 dollars excluding tip. It was a pretty fair value and the food was pretty tasty and best described as ""fusion/modern"" rather than authentic. Definitely check out the tuna tartare. The joint can get loud and the atmosphere is a bit geared to the 20s ""seen and be seen"" crowd, but there are plenty of more distinguished folks here to check out the drinks and food. The parking lot is small, so take a cab to the restaurant. Don't worry, there are always a few cabs stationed in the area to pick up patrons after their meal. Pros: Fast Service, Tasty dishes, Good Value (for what it is) Cons: Parking, Atmosphere Not for Everyone more

Great place for a big or a little meal. 6/11/2007

First of all, I""m not a three meal a day person. Tapas are the best way of dining for me. I can try several things without having a large entree preventing me from trying other items. Mojitos are available by the pitcher - just recommend a little more rum. Highly recommend the stuffed dates, seared ahi (practically an entree by itself), duck roll, would recommend the ahi tartare be sliced as opposed to the cubes but still good. Tried other items - too numerous to list as we had dinner the first night and went back for lunch the next day. Great service, not there during any rush hour but did fill quickly right after we arrived both times. Will always make it a stop when in Vegas. Three people almost drunk and full for $60. Pros: great food Cons: outdoor dining on a strip mall parking lot more

Fun and yummy 3/24/2007

My husband and I went there last for a much needed date. It did take some time to get a table because it was packed. Make a reservation. The menu is as whimsical as it should be. My husband had never heard of Tapas but I knew he would surely find things to spark his interest. He did! We had fun. Some items are better than others, but I recommend the Baked Brie, Duck Egg Rolls, Eggplant Cannelloni, Bacon Wrapped Dates, and the Bread Pudding for dessert. I am not sure why but the espresso was really great! We are not drinkers like the rest of crowd at Firefly. They sure were sucking down the sangria...looked good!!! Go here! It is really a fun time. Once you do get seated, your tapas come quickly. Pros: Food, service, fun Cons: not really a place to ""hang-out"" more

I Love The Firefly! 2/26/2007

The Firefly is just so good. I really love everything about this place. The ambience is relaxed but warm, the service is prompt and friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices cannot be beat. I have been here several times and have tried just about everything on the menu. From the clams to the emapanadas to the artichoke toasts, everything is amazing. And don't forget the sangria! Pros: Everything! Cons: Nothing! more

Worth The Trip 2/21/2007

I am a big Tapas fan and Firefly is definitely one of the best Tapas places that I've been to and I've been to a lot in New York City. We went on a Monday night by foot after the show ""Le Reve"" at Wynn hotel and it's totally worth the 20 minutes walk. We had a picther of Mojito, which is awesome; Tuna Tartare is my favor out of the dinner menu; Steak and Mushroom Skewer is just perfectly marinated and nicely cooked; Chorizo Clams is very well balanced and I almost wanted to drink up all the juice with my straw. We also had Caramel Flan and Chocolate & Cherry Bread Pudding for dessert and they were simply tasty. And the best part, with everything, tip and tax, it came down to less than $90 for the two of us. I would definitely go back next time I go to Vegas.\r Pros: Good Food, Good Price; Good Drink Cons: Table is too small to hold all the plates. more

Firefly, Burned out? 1/31/2007

I've been going to FireFly after getting off work as a cook for 2 years. I have even had long conversations with the guys who made the menu, giving them props for their delicious affordable dishes. The coolest thing about the place was the large portions, cheap prices, good drinks, and nice atmosphere. I've been gone for awhile and recently come back, and i wonder what happened. Their tomato soup is great, it used to come in a large bowl with a good brie sandwhich. Now its a tiny cup, tastes watered down, and the sandwhich just looks half assed. The tartare dish is cut in half if not more, the fries are the greasiest things i've ever eaten, its almost disgusting. I used to love the calamari, it was light and crucny while not being overwhelming. Its still good, but if you feel an order or calamari should be 7 overcooked pieces for the same price spread out on a large plate, then i guess that dish is for you.\r Firefly used to have the feeling of a great locals place and now its just some bs washed up place that almost seems to beg for tourists business and shuns away their long-time fans.\r \r What happened to them... cutting corners and getting greedy doesn't help.. maybe someday they'll see that. As far as i go, i wont be going there for a long time. Pros: good food???? Cons: terrible price, even worse portions..not worth your money more

Absolutely Amazing!! 12/11/2006

Firefly has some of the best Tapas ever. The food is simply delicious. Prices are affordable and service is friendly. Try the sangria and chicken or steak skewers. \r more

Amazing!! 11/20/2006

This place is awesome. They have totally traditional spanish food, along with the best mojitos and sangria ever. Definitely worth the trip off the strip! more

GET IN A TAXI & GET OFF THE STRIP - WE LOVE THE FIREFLY! 11/11/2006

We jet to Vegas from Sparkling Seattle once or twice a year & ALWAYS cab it over to FIREFLY BISTRO. Dark & loud & full of locals. We order a big ol' pitcher of Sangria (red, always red) and start with the bacon wrapped dates. Then on to anything carnivorous (lamb? yes, please). I swear we once saw an Elvis Impersonator in a grey sweatshirt & trucker hat at one table & a couple of fresh from the stage showgirls (3"" eyelashes & full make up) at another.... And everytime the young rockers of Vegas are all around laughing & pouring & enjoying the snacks. more

Worth going back to Vegas for! 11/9/2006

My friend and I were visiting Las Vegas and decided to try this place out. We heard about it on $40/day with rachael ray. It would be good to make reservations for dinner because the place was packed by the time we got there (around 9pm). We probably waited about 20-25 minutes to be seated, but we waited at the bar and it wasn't so bad. The mojitos were pretty good. The restaurant itself is very intimate with booths that lined walls and tables meant for 2 but pushed together for bigger parties. There is a lounge area between the main dining area and the patio with couches where I suppose larger parties get together. We decided to sit in the patio because it wasn't as loud. The menu is pretty extensive. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, filet mignon sliders (mini burgers), empanadas, herb fries, calamari and meatballs. We tried a little of everything and were definitely pleased. They weren't out of the ordinary dishes, but they were all very tasty. I regret ordering too many dishes because I didn't have room for dessert! Overall, the atmosphere was great, the food was wonderful, the drinks were pretty good and the prices were decent! ($5-10/plate) Since I've been about 2 weeks ago, I keep thinking about going back to Vegas to visit Firefly again! its worth the trip (: Pros: delicious food, good drinks, nice atmosphere, GREAT butter. Cons: ONLY IN VEGAS. more

Excellent Tapas 11/4/2006

Though several tapas restaurants now operate in Las Vegas this was the orginal and still the best. We ordered a carafe of the house Sangria and were soon munching a complimentary plate of olives on toast and cream cheese. The 4 tapas we selected are all recommendable: chicken skewers, chorizo clams, empanada and shrimp potstickers. Also received complimentary olives with toast and cream cheese. We had 2/1 coupons and ordered carafe of sangria (fair). more

Best 1st date restaurant! 9/10/2006

I have been going to Firefly since Rachel Ray reviewed it on her show ""$30 a day"" in Las Vegas. We have brought out of towners and locals to this fun hip restaurant. Food is excellent and by Vegas standards, very cheap. There is something for everyone on the menu, hot and cold tapas and entrees and great desserts and sangria. Mojitos are great too. Especially tasty are the ham and cheese croquettas, baked shrimp, the sliders, and the skewers. Finish off with the banana and nutella sandwiches for dessert. The noise could be a draw back for those looking for a quiet evening, but it cuts down the awkward silences of first dates. I recently took a new boyfriend there who has lived in Vegas for 5 yrs and never heard of it. He raved about it. It has the energy of the college scene as the place is packed with co-eds. Great place to people watch! more

INSANELY DELICIOUS SANGRIA, MOJITOS, SMALL PLATES! 6/21/2006

Firefly is a fantastic, local gem. It's near the strip, so you don't have to mess with valet, casinos, Las Vegas Blvd, cover charges, lines, waiting lists, overpriced menus, stuffy attitudes.\r \r They have a huge list of small plates (tapas) that you pass around and share. Also the Sangria is the fantastic. I always bring my friends in from out-of-town to show them the other side of Vegas, the fact that we have some really unique independent places that aren't just trying to gouge their guests.\r \r Check out Firefly. You will not be disappointed! I'll probably see you there! Pros: Sangria, Great Food!, Hip Vibe Cons: Sometimes can be crazy busy, parking lot fills up fast more

great atmosphere, great price 1/17/2006

I went to Firefly for the first time last night. I tried the Sangria, which it's famous for, but was a little disappointed with it. But the service was good, and the ambiance more then made up for it. The food could have been better. I had the Paella which was ok but could have been much better. The person with whom I was dining had some kind of octopus plate which was really tasty. But you couldn't beat the price. Dinner and drinks for two people was $40 including a generous tip. I would go again. Pros: ambiance, cost, location Cons: food, sangria, parking more

My fav place to eat 9/13/2005

This place is by far the best stop anyone can make. I try to eat there at least once a week. The calimari is excellent, and dont forget a picher of red sangeria! The smoking section even has couches so you can really relax and enjoy your meals. Pros: close to 215 freeway, close to strip, close the airport Cons: small parking lot more

Firefly is the Place for Hospitality Workers 5/5/2005

Firefly is not the most authentic Tapas in the city, but the really great attempt at food, which is good in it's own right, pales in comparison to the vibrant night scene, sometimes until 3-4 AM. Live Latin bands and DJ's keep the groove in place as the crowd sways, eats and downs signature pitchers of Mojitos. This has become the place for restaurant and hotel employees late nights and it just keeps improving. See you there! Pros: Affordable, Amazing Scene, Frequent Live Music Cons: Parking, Inconsistant Service, Inconsistant Food more

Firefly is a local gem. 4/28/2005

I love this place. Great atmosphere. Terrific food. Excellent service. This is where the locals in the know go to eat. Bring friends. Order a mess of tapas and a couple of pitchers of sangria. You're out the door stuffed and buzzed for $25! Pros: fantastic food, great scene, bargain prices more

Good Tapas 12/27/2004

Firefly is off the strip but not far. The menu had a large variety of tapas. We tried many different tapas. They were all good, reasonalby priced and good size portions for tapas. For example, the Tuna Carpaccio was good and had a large amount of tuna for $10. The sangria was also good. The decore of the main diningroom is plane jane, nothing special. The lounge area is more interesting with red couches. On the weekends, make a reservation. They are open very late. It appeared to have a lot of locals dining here. Pros: good tapas, resonably priced more
