Play-care and training in one! 7/27/2012

Updated from March 2011:\r **To the person below who complained ""You pay the same no matter if the dog is there for one hour or 12"" this is simply untrue and you are incorrect. There are reasonable hourly, half day, and full day rates, as well as discounted packaged for miltiple days and/or dogs. Additionally, you said you thought your dog was only taken out once, but the dogs are taken outside to relieve themselves and offered water multiple times per day, especially younger and older dogs. This is, in part, how our puppies were housebroken.\r **To the person who said Janice ""proceeds to tell me to lock my dog (which she seemed afraid of) in the car in the sun in 95 degree weather!"" I cannot believe this at all, as Janice has openely spoken about how dangerous it is to leave a dog in a car on even mildly warm says. Additionally, as many dogs come to daycare to socialize, having more than one dog in the lobby at a time occours quite regularly, unless my eyes deceive me. I therefore believe I must interperet your review as an exaggerated rant.\r On to my actual review: \r We have a 4-year-old Great Dane who has been going to Fido's for 4 years now, and we love Fidos. Janice and staff are wonderful at letting our rambunctious gentle giant have fun playing, but they are also incredibly in-tune to disciplining her when she gets too wild or rough with other dogs. Janice is really easy to contact and is good about giving us the daily lowdown on our dog's behavior. She is knowledgeable and loves dogs, but isn't afraid to lay down the law. We were amazed at how she tranformed our Dane puppy into a well-behaved and socialized dog. We trust her skill so much that we brought our new Havanese puppy there, wo is now also a big fan of Fido's. Fido's is the perfect match for us because it is not crate based and it is run by someone who knows her stuff (versus highschool kids like some other daycare centers), so grab your pooch and go to Fido's! more

Don't make the mistake we made by using Fido's 6/7/2010

My wife and I are out $1,300 dollars because she mixed our 70lb dog with a 5lb dog unsupervised. She claims that our dog bit the little dog but didn't witness it. We took the high road and payed the vet bills and won't return to Fido's. Cons: Janus mixes large breeds with small breeds unsupervised more

A Peace of Mind 4/5/2010

My dog, a miniature shih-tzu, is a dog who doesn't really like dogs. Janice, the owner, has always treated her with such love and allows Mele to be herself. Mele gets excited to go to ""school"" as we call it, and her tail almost falls off when she greets Janice. This, to me, speaks more than any experience I could ever have. Every dog is unique and needs a place where they can be themselves. Fido's, I believe, is a place where that can happen. Of course there will be days when your ""kid"" misbehaves, and may even have a bad report, but you still take them back because you know there's an overwhelming positive effect your dog is experiencing. Fido's offers socialization for your dog, in a clean and responsible environment. All dogs are required to pass an ""interview"" as a protection to all the dogs that go there. This is a POSITIVE thing. \r \r Janice absolutely knows dogs, and knows what she is doing. I wouldn't keep taking my special dog there if I knew differently.\r \r I highly recommend Fido's! So take it from someone who is an animal-lover...your dog will be safe and well taken care of at Fido's! Pros: Great hours, Clean, Centrally located Cons: Limited parking more

Two paws up from a happy dog! 3/7/2010

Janice has a fun, safe place for dogs of all sizes to play together. My dog - a german shepherd - plays with dogs ranging from a great dane to a french bulldog. She has fun every day, and always looks forward to going back. The hours are good, and the rates are reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone. Pros: clean, safe playtime for your fido more

My dog loves Fido's 3/7/2010

My dog has been going to Fido's for almost two years, and we've never had a bad day there. My dog, Noble, has a lot of energy; and Fido's is the place where she can run it out of her system in a healthy way - while playing with a bunch of other dogs. Janice gives personal attention to each dog, and the place is spotless. She also offers grooming services, which come in handy when Noble needs a bath. Two big thumbs up for Fido's! Pros: My dog loves going to Fido's more

Fido's the place to go 12/12/2009

Fido's is truely the home away from home. We have taken Jacob there for over a year now. Before we started he was timid w/ people and didn't care for children. Now he loves people and loves kids. He is confident, happy and tired. He sleeps from the house and then does circles and gets excited as soon as we exit the freeway. He can't wait to play. He loves the owner Janice. In the summer she had a teenager there helping her which he looked forward to seeing too. We looked hard for a place like this and are happy we found Fido's. Thank you Janice!\r Clearly KandiceWilliams and Kbear are the same person(by the words and way she writes) who is trying to steal business away from Fido's. I have come in unannounced several times and stood there never to witness anything as she describes. Check it out for yourself. You will see what a great place Fido's is. Pros: safe and fun more

Nothing But Praise! 12/3/2009

The review from kandkwilliams seems extreme..... I have been taking my dog to Fido's for over 4 years and she just loves it! I have a small bichon-poodle mix who did not have a lot of dog social skills so we were looking for a safe and caring place to take her where she could spend time around other dogs. She loves to go and now gets excited about seeing other dogs instead of the cowering and hiding she did before attending Fido's. She gets so excited when she knows we are going to Fido's and she loves Janice! I have had nothing but positive interactions with Janice and recommend her to everybody who will listen. She provides a variety of services including a groomer who comes in regularly. Check her out! Pros: Treats dogs like her own, routine training more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG DON’T TAKE IT HERE! 7/16/2009

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG DON’T TAKE IT HERE!\r Janice the owner of Fido’s doggie day care just got done screaming at me so loud her voice was cracking, and my dog was cowering. I was so upset that I had to drop by a friend’s to calm down and quit shaking so I could safely drive home. \r This amazing and frightening situation began this morning when I was running late. When I drove up to Fido’s, Janice was in the parking lot letting a dog relieve itself. When I said “Hi”, she did not greet me but rather demanded to know where I was at 8:00 when I was supposed to be dropping my dog off. Please be aware that there is no scheduled time for drop off. You pay the same no matter if the dog is there for one hour or 12.\r She immediately marched into Fido’s dragging the poor dog behind her. At this point I knew I should think twice before leaving my dog, but I had an appointment that I could not miss – and was running late. So against my better judgment with alarm bells ringing I left my poor dog. When I picked up my dog this afternoon – there was a small parking lot traffic jam. This is important, because just when I got to the door of Fido’s, Janice was taking my dog out to relieve herself in the parking lot. I suspected that this was the first time my dog had been taken outside. As I was getting my leash on my poor dog, who could not get out of there fast enough, Janice started to be aggressive and in my face asking if there was a problem? I said I thought that she had been rude this a.m. At this point Janice went absolutely nuts and started screaming at me that I “WAS RUDE”, “THIS IS A BUSINESS”, “IF THIS WAS YOUR KIDS DAYCARE YOU WOULD CALL TO LET THEM KNOW YOU’RE RUNNING LATE” and on and on (I was never fortunate enough to have children). Because she was being so aggressive and nasty and since I had pre-paid for a number of days, I asked to settle up, at which point Janice started screaming that “WE DON’T GIVE REFUNDS”.\r One of the other reviewers stated that she had a terrible experience. I only wish that I had read that review prior to taking my dog to Fido’s.\r Pros: Nothing Cons: Rude Owner, Strip Mall Location, No Refunds more

Love It 7/1/2009

My dog has been going to Fido’s for almost 3 years and he loves it. I consider Fido’s to be very safe and clean especially compared to some of the other dog day cares I have seen. I especially appreciate the fact Janice puts the safety of her customer’s dogs as her first priority and as I long term customer I like the fact she puts safety before profits and if a dog doesn’t behave or is aggressive and the owner is not allowed to return that’s fine with me. \r I would highly recommend Fido’s to anyone…..\r Pros: Clean and Safe Cons: No outdoor run more

For the love of Fido, DON'T take your dog here! 6/24/2009

If I could give negative stars, I would. When I arrived with my dog to check out the establishment, she made quite a horrid impression on me again. She rushed outside to meet me because heavens forbid there were other people with their 1 leashed dog in the lobby, and proceeds to tell me to lock my dog (which she seemed afraid of) in the car in the sun in 95 degree weather! Hottest day of the summer and she wants me to lock him up in the car and come in to wait on her to finish chatting so she can try to talk me into leaving my dog in her care? No way I'd leave a perfectly normal dog with her, much less my special needs pup! According to other dog owners I've met who've taken their dogs there, she also ties them to a wall and lets other dogs sniff at them freely for her 'temperament test', and she'll kick the dog out if it's got too much energy for her liking. Isn't that why you're taking them to doggy daycare? To run off some energy? She doesn't seem to know the first thing about dogs and honestly shouldn't be running a doggy daycare. Let it go, lady, and let the REAL pet lovers run the pet care industry. Pros: Close to home if you're in wilsonville Cons: Caretaker is clueless about how to handle dogs! more
