These guys know what there doing. my dryer was bad it had burned lint and the heating element was out they came out today and fixed it today on top of that he was vary vary clean. He also took the extra time to look at my washer because he noticed it was vary loud and fixed it as well. I have already referred famous appliance to all my friends and family, and I will use them again in the future!! more

Customer Service at Famous Appliance recognized my need to have a technician faster than the original scheduled time, and changed my appointment without the need to ask. Installed my gas appliance fast and I was able to get on with my very hectic day. Thanks so much for helping me out. more

we had a burning smell from our dryer. Manual said to get a professional vent cleaning. This job is usually about $100. Famous appliances charged my wife $401.83. They replaced a belt an a pulley ( unnecessary ) for $63.65 and $62.68. These parts only cost $11 to $12 retail. Company doesn't return calls and will not resolve issues. Receptionist try to act concerned , but the company will not call back. Beware of this scam. more

I Called Famous out to fix my refrigerator after 6:00 pm i was so happy when they said they could come out right away within an hour a tech arrived. he was very helpfull and very polite after he told me what was wrong and gave me the price to fix it i was shocked again to hear that he had the part to fix it on his truck. will recomend Famous and tech steven to all my friends. more

When i called i was able to speak to a live person who was very pleasant and understanding. How refreshing. Famous Appliance showed up the same day i called, was able to repair my appliance right away. No not weeks. I am ecstatic i found Famous Appliance to be my service company of choice. horrible customer service, they lied to us about our price, the lady at customer service was terrible and i will never use their services again. i was so upset with how they treated us this morning, a job that took 10 minutes ended up costing over $200, which they never mentioned to us all the additional other fees. i will never have any of my family and friends use their services. more

Called regarding our Kenmore Dryer. A tech came out in the morning walked in, opened his laptop, typed something in and then told us the control board was bad on it. He never hooked anything to the dryer and the whole process took him 5 minutes. He then proceeded to tell us the cost to fix the dryer was $500.00 with labor. Teh tech said we could not find this part anywhere. That the actual part had little mark up on it and most of the cost was to install the part. The tech said that these control boards go out all the time and he replaces them on a regular basis. We told him we would think about spending $500 to fix the dryer and get back with them. He left us with a quote on what was wrong with the dryer. When he left we then researched the part on line and found it for $150.00 and locally for $200. We then purchased the part and installed it on our dyer. Installation of this control board took less then 5 minutes. Upon installation of the control board the dryer still did not work. An electrician came to the house and looked at the dryer and told us it was a $20.00 fuse. The electrician told us to go to the Maytag store in Sandy. We then purchased a fuse from Maytag, installed the OLD control board and the dryer started to work. We called Famous Appliance several times to discuss this matter with them. No one would ever return our calls. After several days of calling and being told NO manager was in or they were out of town, we stopped calling. I wish I would of read the reviews before calling them. Funny how all of their good reviews have by Service Magic and the bad review are from actual customers who have tried them. The person that answered the phone was very pleasant, answered my crazy questions and was very helpful. I was surprised when she said they could come the same day- especially since it was almost 5:00 pm when i called. The Tech was so pleasant, had great manners, answered all my questions with honesty and didn't seem at all put out to be working after 5:00. He stayed until the job was done and the frig is working like new. I was pretty certain Good customer service was a thing of the past- but i was wrong. I clearly called the right place. more

First employee came out, told me a bunch of crap about my dishwasher and then charged me 50.00 for three bottles of dishwasher magic (which can be purchased from multiple stores including Amazon for 7.49 a bottle). Touched a few buttons on dishwasher and charged me 20.00 for visit, 128.00 for labor, and 3.75 for miscellaneous parts used. The guy never used a single tool except his index finger. Problem continued so I called for return visit. Second guy contradicted advice given by first guy and then wanted to give me two bottles a dishwasher magic for 39.98. This company is shady, do not use them. I called them using their ad in the Yellow Pages. My dishwasher was leaking and I needed it looked at. They told me it would be $40 for a technician to come out and look, which seemed very reasonable. Two guys showed up, they were very cocky and arrogant. Before even looking at my dishwasher, they told me my brand, Frigidaire, is one of the worst you can buy and that is probably why it's not working. Then, before even opening it or looking at it, they automatically said that my dishwasher needed some special seal kit because these lower end dishwashers weren't built to last. They then turned the dishwasher on, and when it didn't immediately leak, they proceeded to tell me that there wasn't anything wrong with it, and that it was probably leaking because I was loading it wrong. I explained that I have loaded my dishwasher exactly the same for the last two years of owning it. They still told me I was doing it wrong. Upon opening the dishwasher they noticed that my door gasket was corroded. Without any further investigation, they determined this was the problem and wrote me a quote. They quoted $80.00 for the gasket, and another $70 for an additional seal, then $108 for labor, with tax that came to almost $300. I told them I thought that was outrageous and explained I wanted to do more research. The two men then mocked me by saying their prices were the best in town and I'd be hard pressed to find any service repair cheaper. They left and when I called back to find out what parts they had quoted me, I was told that I could not have that information due to company policy. The customer service girl told me that I could look on Sears for part information, which I did, and found that the gasket costs only $9.00, and the seal only $7.00. When I called back to ask why they were trying to charge me $80.00 and $70.00 for two parts that cost less than $10.00 each, the lady told me that they have a program that tells them what price to use and that they don't price match or go by other prices online. She tried to tell me that any other appliance repair company would also charge that much if not more. I explained to her that I had already called around and EVERY company I talked to charged significantly less. Con-artists... don't use them, they're liars and crooks. They said it would be $367: $150 for the installation of the part and $167 for the part, plus the $40 I paid for the diagnosis. The part I needed I found on the Internet, appliancezone dot com for $32.00. So, Famous Appliance was marking this up 500%! I ordered the part, had a friend install it and the dishwasher still didn't drain. I checked the drain hose and it was clogged. Why did Famous Appliance not check this first? The simplest solution? Because they wanted to charge me for a drain pump and a drain hose and probably another trip to my house. This company is crooked and I would never recommend them!!! Cons: Ripped me off more
