This is an updated review for Exterior Building Solutions. I made an appointment for a Roof Inspection on 12/10. Unfortunately there was bad weather and I contacted them to see if they wanted to reschedule. The person who was to perform the inspection agreed and we made another appointment for 12/13. Again, we faced bad weather on 12/13. I did not call to reschedule the appointment and was waiting at my home for the person to arrive. When the person did not call or arrive at my home, I called and left a message. He immediately called me back and said that he would not be able to make it. I was not happy with this communication initiated by me (again) after the scheduled appointment and I left a very harsh review here on Angie's List. Over the weekend I pondered this review and had decided that it was overly harsh and that I was going to submit some changes. After all - the weather was terrible. My complaint was not that he couldn't perform the inspection; it was that he did n more

I am happy with the work 2/5/2014

They replaced two small roofs and gutters. The workman performed the work well and cleaned up after themselves. I am happy with the work. more

The job was done quickly and on schedule 2/5/2014

I contacted Exterior Building Solutions to get a bid for a roof replacement on my home in Wildwood. I'm always skeptical about contractors so I tried to search for the ones with the best reviews on Angie's list. I contacted the top 3 companies based on reviews and received bids. EBS's bid was competitive, and our sales rep, Mike G. was very knowledgeable and courteous. The job was done quickly and on schedule, and so far I have been very happy with the work they did. The roofing crews were clean cut and made sure they didn't leave nails or other debris in the yard for my son to get hurt on. I would definitely use them again. more

The crew was great 2/1/2014

Our contact was Leo. The work were fine. We had leaks on the old roof and needed it replaced. They came out really quickly to give us the estimate. From then, it took them about 3-4 weeks to come and do the work, which they let is know during the estimate. The job only took two days. The crew was great. I had no complaints and did a nice job with clean up once the work was completed. more

Work was done both professionally and promptly, the price was reasonable and the crew cleaned everything up when they left. I'm happy with the outcome and I would definitely use them again. more

Highly recommended 1/31/2014

From estimate, explanation of service and installation, the process was painless. They even came out 3 more times to fix a trouble spot that didn't quite "take" from the initial roofing job. I would highly recommend Exterior Building Solutions. more

Two thumbs up for EBS 1/31/2014

Had them come out and inspect our roof and a bad gasket around one of the vents. The Exterior Building Solutions' employee gave us some good advice in repairs and came in well below other estimates. Will definitely be using them again. more

The work was done professionally and quickly 1/26/2014

I originally contacted EBS about a small roof leak. While Mike Kinsella was checking out the leak, I asked him to also bid a new gutter and new siding on the back part of my small, one story, city bungalow. Mike made some recommendations and promptly e-mailed me a bid. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I did not contact EBS for 5 months. I finally decided to only go ahead with the gutter work. I sent Mike an e-mail and asked him if he needed to re-look at the gutter or re-bid. He promptly sent me a revised bid (to only do the gutter work). A few days after I sent in half the payment, I stepped out my back door and realized the work had been done. Mike was easy to contact and prompt in replying. The work was done professionally and quickly. Everything was cleaned up afterward so well, I didn't even know they had been there. I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future! more

I was very pleased with the work 1/24/2014

Dave came to quote the work on my soffit and fascia for several repairs. The price was fair the repairs were of high quality. He even did extra work at no cost to me as he found a few additional issues. It took several days to finish the work because of weather delays and a few planning errors. I was very pleased with the work. more

Everything went smoothly. The work was done quickly and neatly, including clean-up. The roof no longer leaks during storms and my utility bills have decreased due to energy efficiency. And the house looks 100% better. more

Prompt estimate and neat work 1/22/2014

The work they did for us were - stripped old shingles and felt; replaced damaged sections of roof decking, installed new ridge vents, re-flashed stacks, vents and chimney. Prompt estimate and neat work. Will definitely recommend them to friends and relatives. more

Will use this company again 1/19/2014

I called EBS on 10-31-13 requesting a roof inspection and estimate for the above mentioned repairs. Mike Gatlin called me that same afternoon. We made an appointment for early the next day for the inspection and estimate. He arrived on time, gave me a price I was willing to pay and did the repairs that morning. He was friendly, polite, professional, clearly explained what he proposed to do. I was happy with the appearance of all the repairs. He matched the siding perfectly and much cheaper than another contractor had quoted us. I appreciated the experience very much and will use this company again. more

Did a very good job 1/18/2014

He repaired the flashing on both corners of the dormer walls, replaced lead pipe flashing around a vent on the roof, and replaced a broken piece of drip edge on the siding over the garage. Did a very good job. more

Thank you EBS for making it right! 1/16/2014

They were very focused on trying to make this experience right and to my satisfaction. A few days Later Leo came out personally to my home and inspected what was missed and apologized about the delays. He understood the problem and has already made changes within the company to avoid future issues. I did get a call a day after he visited to schedule the fixes discussed, and due to the cold weather it was decided that they should be performed in warmer weather which I agreed very much with. On every day or so delay as it got colder I received a call from the installer notifying me when the temp would rise to an acceptable level. They arrived on time, and completed my repairs as promised. It was VERY apparent Leo and EBS understands that the customer is the prime focus and needs to match the work. I have since revised my rating to an A because Leo and his team did the right thing and the communication was exactly how I desired it to be. Thank you EBS for making it right! more

Mr. Grossman was able to make the repairs on the same day that he came out to give an estimate. He explained where the water was coming in and provided a 1 year warranty. I highly recommend Exterior Building Solutions. more

They are very responsive and professional 1/14/2014

The process started a little rough, but the smooth ending more than made up for the bump. I contacted 3 roofing companies after suspecting I had roof storm damage. 2 of the 3 came in with bids in the $7500-8000 range, but EBS (this company) originally gave me a bid over $10,500. I was stunned by the bid, but the consistently strong Angie's List reviews for this company made me want to try to figure out what happened. I called one of the co-owners (Leo) directly and told him the situation - he was very surprised and also wanted to find out the problem. Turns out I had a newbie salesman who simply messed up the bid. This incident is the only reason I gave them a B on price. But Leo went way above and beyond to try to get my business after I called him. He was at my house on my roof himself within 24 hours and came in with this bid of $7910, including the ridge vents and architectural shingles. more

I will be calling them again for roofing work 1/12/2014

What impressed me the most with Anthony was that he was concerned with damaging a large tree we have in our landscaping, so much so that he went above and beyond good customer service to make sure the tree was tied back out of the way of his equipment to minimize the damage. The repair was completed, the work area cleaned up, and no damage to our tree. Exterior Building Solutions really puts their customers' needs first. A very professional business, and I will be calling them again for roofing work. more
