Exit Realty-1st Choice

Joe said he would take a look at our house and ended up sending another agent. I didnt mind but felt it was a bit rude he didn't reschedule for another date with himself. The agent showed up with 'for sale' signs which was a bit off-putting considering we were to discuss our buying/selling goals. I had the impression (possibly wrongly so, but first impressions are everything!) that they were disappointed we weren't trying to sell a more expensive house with them. I was promised I would receive a call back in 2 days and never heard from them again. We will def be going with a different Realtor. more

We actually bought our house and subsequently listed our house for sale through Joe Petno of Exit Realty. At first, Joe will tell you everything he wants to hear and tells you he will deal specifically with it. He then pawns it off to his staff back at the office (which is fine), but he rarely follows through, then when you call him on it, he blames it on his staff. Our selling situation was TERRIBLE. Our house with all hardwood floors was completely flooded when a member of his staff messed with the refrigerator water line (we were no longer in the house). From that point forward, Joe lied about when he had been in the house last and tried to intentionally mislead inspectors and other personnel that came to the house after the water damage. Fortunately, we were able to disprove his obvious lies through information provided by his own staff! At this point he became completely incommunicative and ignored us. We took the house off the market with Joe while we personally dealt with the water nightmare from 2000 miles away. I'm glad it never got to the point of legal action against Joe's office, but we were prepared to take it to that point. Joe is your typical smooth talker, tell-you-what-you-want-to-hear realtor. BEWARE! There are indeed realtors out there who have your best interest in mind, at least at the same level as their interest is at! more

I would not recommend Joe Petno or this agency at all. He did not go to closing with me (though he listed my home and sold me one as well)...there were numerous transactional errors that I caught at closing..I never got an answer as to why he was too busy to go. However, I paid to have my HVAC inspected prior to closing and am now having problems with it. The contractor that inspected it, told me that Joe did not even show up for the inspection..he called and gave them the code to get in after I was told he would be there..He never told me that the house failed. They called and left him messages and he would not return their phone calls. I went to closing not knowing how bad the HVAC in this house is. Unacceptable in my opinion. I have asked him and his broker/owner numerous times why this happened and I have not gotten an answer. This guy will not return phone calls.. Now I need a new HVAC when it should have been covered by the warranty. Terrible communication..I would not recommend this place. more
