My belief is that Enterprise is really no different than the other rental companies. They strive to do their best and most often succeed. My last rental at SLC airport got me a Subaru Forrester which rode too rough at 80 mph on the Interstate. I called support, was told no other cars were available, but she checked again anyway. A Hyundai Sonata just came in and I got it still unwashed and was grateful. Made the swap no problem. It's a busy place, not well lit, somewhat confusing, but it's an airport; what isn't confusing! more

This was my first time renting from Enterprise and it certainly won't be the last, now that I know the service and product they offer! Great, friendly, efficient staff and a really nice car for a very good price. The check in and out processes were seamless. I would recommend them to anyone. more

This is my second time renting from the SLC Enterprise airport location. \r Both times were very good service and good cars. \r One suggestion or comment. Please show everyone that rents from you before they leave where the gas door button is.\r Because some manufacturers like to hide the button. more

I recently rented a car at the SLC airport from Enterprise. I would greatly recommend that you do not use Enterprise and go to another rental car company. My rental was arranged by another company and was prepaid for a compact car. When I asked for an upgrade I was only given a $50 dollar per day option. I was told that there were no other cars available. I asked again for some other options and again was told, ""sorry we are sold out of other options and if you want to upgrade it will be an additional $50 per day"". Then I was given the hard sale and heavy pitch on buying insurance and the prepaid gas option. I declined both with the attitude from the agent that I was making a big mistake!\r I then went to pick up my car at the kiosk and asked the attendant there was there any other cars to choose from and he said, ""sure we have lots of options and you can upgrade for just $10 per day"". Obviously a ""sales technique"" to get some extra money from the customer.\r When I returned the car, they then charged the entire amount on my credit card even though it was prepaid and I had the rental confirmation and receipt. After waiting for several minutes while the attendant was in back talking with the manager, they told me they would have to hold my payment ""just in case they couldn't get the prepayment"". I was frustrated and assured by Enterprise they would find out and call me the next day with a resolution. 2 days later I get a receipt that shows the entire amount was charged to my Amex. I called and talked to a manager who assured me he would get to the bottom of the issue and still no return call (I ended up getting the prepayment confirmed and getting a credit back to my card and I still haven't gotten a call back from Enterprise).\r \r In summary, they are masters at the hard sale, deceiving and terrible customer service. Stay away!!! more

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience at the Salt Lake City Airport Enterprise Car Rental and feel that I was scammed. Do not accept a minivan upgrade here! When I made my reservation online I had requested a small SUV and upon arrival the man checking me in asked if I wanted to upgrade to a minivan. I said I didn't need a minivan and was going up to the ski areas, but he insisted and said they had a lot of minivans and that they were great cars. I agreed and he gave me the key and wrote the slot number as 39. I went to the minivan in slot 39, the car was unlocked, and I put my bags in the back, then got in the front seat to start the car. However, when I put the key in nothing happened. Right at that moment another man came up to the driver's door and said that I must have the wrong car. He had the keys for that car and said the keys I had must be for another car, he flashed the lights of another silver minivan a few slots down. I asked if he worked for Enterprise and he said yes. It was unclear why he was needing to get into that van. He said he would get my bags from the back and ushered me down to the other van and I got in and drove off (without any time to review the car for scratches and without having loaded my own bags in the back). I went on my trip and had the hotel park the van in valet, as they do for all guests, and then two days later drove the van back to the airport. I did not hit anything and highly doubt that anyone hit the car in valet at the ski resort. Upon my return the same man who had checked me in came up and collected my keys. Instead of walking around the whole van he went straight to the back right of the van and started inspecting a scratch on the bumper. I said I had not hit anything, but that it had been parked in valet for 2 days. He said that often times cars get hit in parking lots and that I would have to take my insurance information up to the counter. The woman there asked me to fill out the information on my statement that I did not have any awareness of the car being hit. Then she said that my car insurance showed a $500 deductible and that she would have to collect that $500 right then. I was late and needed to check into my flight and the whole ordeal had already taken over 30 minutes, so I just went along with it, even though I know you normally don't pay deductibles on the spot without the claim going through the insurance first. Since I was traveling for business I figured I would just have my company look into it the next day. When I talked to my office Accounting department the next day they said they have seen several similar cases like this with Enterprise where cars are being scratched without the driver's knowledge and that I definitely should not have paid the $500 deductible on the spot. They called Enterprise and they refunded the money charged to my credit card. In thinking back on the whole experience, it was very sketchy that they wanted me to upgrade to a minivan, that they gave me the keys/slot number for the wrong car, that the man needed to get into the car I was in at the same time, that he offered to put my bags in the back (clearly preventing me from seeing a scratch on the back bumper), and that the man who checked me in went straight for that back corner. I do not trust this car rental location and will now be very cautious with all car rentals. Be sure you check any rental car for scratches before you leave the lot, no matter what the situation! more

I have rented cars through Enterprise several times and never had any problems. On the contrary, I was always impressed by their customer service.\r \r However, my most recent experience was bad enough that I will never rent from Enterprise again. I picked up a car from Enterprise for a weekend trip. A few hours into my rental, the low tire pressure light went on. I stopped by a gas station to add air to the now almost flat tire, only to have the same problem persist not an hour later. At around noon, I called Enterprise and explained about the air leak in the tire, and Enterprise told me that they were out of cars in my rental type and my only option was to take the car by a repair shop myself and have the problem fixed. They said they would reimburse me. As my trip was only about 48 hours long in total, I explained that I did not have time to accomplish this. \r \r I made several more calls to customer service. The tagline ""We'll pick you up!"" that continuously echoed while I was on hold began to sound like a joke. After about an hour and a half on the phone with half a dozen people, Enterprise finally agreed to have someone come bring me a different car. I would have gone back to Enterprise myself, but I was about an hour away from their location and did not think I would make it without having to stop several times to re-fill the tire. \r \r Enterprise said they would be there at 2:30pm. At around 3:15pm, I get a call from customer service that their driver is on his way and should be there by 4:15pm. At 4:30pm, I get a call from the driver that he is on his way. Wait - wasn't he on his way before? Nope.\r \r I finally get the car around 5:00pm. The new car had no problems, but all in all, I spent about five hours of my 48 hour trip dealing with what should have been a simple issue.\r \r When my rental was over, I turned the car in and found that I had been charged an assortment of additional fees for the car swap. They amounted to only about $10, but it just felt like adding insult to injury, especially when I had been reassured that I would not be charged an penny.\r \r I am now back from my trip, and found not one, but two email requests from Enterprise for me to review my recent experience. Well, Enterprise, if you insist!\r \r Never again. more

Enterprise employees were polite and courteous, the car was practically new and had no mechanical problems. Now for what could have been better: When I picked up the car, I had to do my own walk-around inspection without supervision by an employee. The car was not clean on the outside and it was in a dimly lit location. Fortunately, no previous dents were found. While loading the car at home for our trip, I found used tissue paper, popcorn and toothpicks on the floor. A printout of local restaurants was found stuffed between the front seats. The inside of the windshield had numerous suction cup marks from previous GPS rentals. The previous rental policy, with the renter's name and other personal information was found in the glove box. The car was obviously not cleaned and prepped before my rental. OK, but nothing to brag about. more

I fly into Salt Lake a couple times a year and always use Enterprise for my car rental. Their employees are very pleasant and very helpful. Service is always very prompt and the vehicles I rent get are always very nice. I have never had a problem with any vehichle I have rented. I have also used Enterprise locally in my own town throught the years and at other airports and service is always consistant. I would highly recommend this company for car rentals. more
