Great experience 12/27/2009

Not exactly where we planned on spending the christmas holiday but what a fantastic place. The Doctor was extremely nice and he took time to explain everything to us and make sure we understood what was going on even though they seemed really busy. The staff was really nice and seemed to care about our dog. more

Highly Recommend this clinic!!!:) 12/15/2009

Emergency Pet Clinic San Gabriel Valley 12/10/2009

It is never a good thing when you have to go to an emergency pet hospital but this place was amazing. The staff was very caring and Dr. Patlogar went above and beyond with our dog. We love our regular doctor but it is nice to know that there is someone like him around for us when our doctor is closed. As with any emergency clinic prices were a bit higher but worth it. Thank you! more

Emergency Pet Clinic is SAN GABRIEL VALLEY EMERGENCY PET CLINIC 7/9/2009

well i don't really know what to say about this place i guess its not a very good pet clinic to go to because they just leave you waiting while your pet is dieing rite there!!!Instead of doing there job they're eating making your ass wait.....I took my dog last night like at 10:20pm i think..and my dog wasn't really feeling himself and i was crying because it looked like he was going to die so they checked him and they saw that he had parvo when i found out i was crying so much my heart felt like if it just fell apart!!! OK so my dog was dieing and they asked my brother if he was willing to pay $2,000 or more so they could try to save my dogs life and my brother said "yes" but they were going to make us wait til' the morning so my dog could get hospitalize i didn't want to wait that long by the time they take my dog to another hospital he was probably gonna be dead by then.....And if we were going to wait there til' the morning they were going to charge my brother more!!!! So it wasn' more

If you go and are fortunate enough to get Dr. Patlogar then you will be as pleased as we were. The staff was very caring and he was always willing to go over things with us talk to us on the phone, even at 4 in the morning. We knew this might be the end but we could not have picked a better place. Thank you soo much! more

I was very satisfied with this clinic 4/18/2009

I rushed my dog to this clinic when she became sick in the evening on a weekend. This clinic was recommended by my regular Vet for emergency care. I found the staff caring and helpful. The bad reviews here seem to be connected to one vet in particular, but the doctor I saw with my dog couldn't have been kinder, more helpful or concerned about both my dog and me! They gave me treatment options and the cost was much more reasonable than I expected. The support staff was kind and gentle with my dog and spoke to her as if she were one of their own. Pros: Caring Staff, Good Price Cons: None that I found more

Thanks! 1/30/2009

It must depend on who you see. My dog had an infection from not being fixed. We saw a younger vet who knew what it was right away. The staff was nice and they even gave her a bath when she made a mess of herself. He fixed her and she came home 2 days later. She is doing great. Great experience. more

Don't take your pets here! Warning! 1/12/2009

I just recently took my puppy there that ate pig ear. The doctor told me he took it out from my puppy's esophagus. That was totally a lie. He just wanted to me to leave. I later toook my dog to my vet and they told me it was life threatening to leave that there. \r \r I paid a total of $300 at the ER pet clinic and in exchange I get unmoral doctors who would lie and put a life on the line. If you care about your pet, go to All-Care pet emergency. They took the pig ear out with microscopic camera and it was painless with very professional doctors that do care! more

Had to wait to see vet but well worth it. Could not afford estimate but Dr Paloger worked with us anyway. Did not charge us for consultation or an injection for pain and told us we could get medications from drug store. Our dog is much better thanks to him!!!! more

FALSE SURGERY RECOMMENDED 10/8/2008

I HAVE TO GIVE A STAR! DOESNT DESERVE ONE. THEY SAID MY GERMAN SHEPARD NEEDED EMERGENCY SURGERY AND THEY WANTED $3OOO.OO UP FRONT NOW (THEY SAID HE HAD DEADLY EMERGENT CONDITION) AND THE COST COULD ESCALATE, AND I HAD TO TAKE MY DOG TO HIS VET IN THE MORNING. THEY WANTED MONEY FOR SURGERY BUT NEVER OFFER TO DO A SIMPLE X-RAY WICH WOULD HAVE SHOWN THE PROBLEM MY DOG WAS HAVING. I WAITED IN THE MORNING AND TOOK MY DOG TO OUR VET AND COME TO FIGURE IT WAS A BONE THAT WAS STUCK IN HER TUMMY NO SURGERY WAS RECOMMENDED.\r MY DOG IS DOING GREAT\r I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NOT EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY.\r for the customer who is sueing them I hope you get them shut down, feel free to contact me for my complete story. more

Rude, Unsympathetic, Unfriendly...Hope you don't get EDDIE CHAVEZ if you visit. 6/16/2008

My dog was run over by a car on a Sunday evening. We frantically rushed her to the nearest emergency vet clinic, which, unfortunately for us, was the Emergency Pet Clinic of San Gabriel Valley. We waited for 45 minutes before a technician came in to take her temperature. Twenty minutes after that, the vet, EDDIE CHAVEZ, came in. He looked at her for less than 5 minutes and said she was fine. We were a little shocked since she had just gotten run over by a car and asked a few more questions after this. We must have been severely inconveniencing him, because we had asked TWO more questions to make sure our dog was going to be OK and he said "Well, I don't know what you want me to say, we CAN keep her overnight and charge you for it, if you want." He went on to add, that we seemed to know all the answers, when we merely asked if the gashes on her posterior that the technician had failed to mention to him were anything to be worried about. Pros: None Cons: Disrespectful, Rude, Inefficient, Unsympathetic more

My 7month old puppy in unberable pain 2/25/2008

February 8, 2008 at 3:30am My husband let our puppy out to use the restroom next thing I knew is I was woken up by his awful cry and my husband in such shock not knowing what the hell happen to our puppy we think something spooked him anyways all I remember seeing is my puppy crying in pain and his right paw sticking straight up and the bottom of is paw facing him '' like a twisted tree branch'' We didn't know what to do. My husband ended up calling 411 and they gave us this number to the El Monte Emergency clinic. He called and explained to them what happen and told them that he is in alot of pain. They told my husband that they would give him a shot to take the pain and that the visit was 64.00, we got there and nothing they had me fill out paper work while I have my puppy in my arms crying I told the nurse weres his shot you told my husband you'd give him, she said I cant give any shots until the vet looks at him 15mins go by the vet finally came out from sleeping and told me to pla more

Do not use this clinic. I took my twelve year old cat in tonight who was hit by a car his tail was severed off and he was bleeding badly. The vet techs couldn't help they had no idea how badly he was injured they said he would have to be sedated put on IV's and go in to surgery then they could see if his rectum was pulled out with the tail. Dr Tsugawa refused to get out of bed and come examine him. We heard her tell the tech no, you just handle it. We had three vet techs trying to guess what his treatment would be. They killed time by weighing him and taking his temp stalling because Dr Tsugawa refused to come and see him. But the techs were quick to quote us a deposit of $1,000.00 but the bill could go up to $3,000.00. Believe me the money was no problem the care of Clark was. Finally because we are intelligent people and lacking a licensed vet willing to examine an emergency case in an emergency clinic. We had him put down. This place needs to be shut down allowing a cat more

It's a good place. 1/26/2008

I came back home from work to find that my dog has eaten practically 12 trident sugarless gum that my sister mistakenly put unsafely from my dog. I was frantically scared and looked up online to see what I should do and what would happen to my dog. I found out that sugarless gum has Xylitol in it and that causes dogs' blood sugar to drop dangerously low and that can lead to liver failure. Then I called the nearest Emer. Pet Clinic that was open and I told them what happened. They asked me some questions about my pet and served me calmly and attentively and told me that my dog needs to throw up. They even gave me two options: To either make my pet throw up at home ,in the case of no money, or take my pet in and the cost would be 94 dollars. So I took my chances and after calling them back like 3 times during the process, they helped me through without sounding annoyed or anything. I'm very glad I had them at that time of hour and their good service. Thank you so much for just telling me more

THANK YOU EPC! 11/16/2007

My dog had was very sick, and thankfully I had this place to go to in the middle of the night. The staff seemed knowledgable, and caring. I felt my pet was taken care of and well looked after. I am grateful there are places to go for your pet when your regular vet is not available. more

thank you to the staff!1!!! 10/28/2007

I just wanted to say that the people who work at the emergencey pet clinic are angels! They saved my dog and were very nice and compassionate! I will definately go back.( if I have to) more

Adequate Pet Care, But Would Not Recommend 10/7/2007

Emergency Animal Clinic (?EAC?) was recommended to me by the clinic my dog normally goes to. I later find out that one of the vets at my dog?s regular clinic as well as one of the ?receptionists? also work at EAC. I rarely write reviews, but my experience this weekend compelled me to do so. Below are my opinions based on my personal experience. \r \r Over the weekend, because my poor dog was extremely sick to the point in which could not walk without falling and landing on his back, I called ahead to EAC to tell them that I would need a stretcher. However, when I arrived, I was told that one was not available for whatever reason and my boyfriend, who recently had chest surgery, had to lift my 70+ lb dog into one of the exam rooms. The receptionist, though pleasant enough, appeared totally clueless and did not offer to help. In fact, she directed my boyfriend to two different areas before directing him to the exam room in which eventually we stayed in. When asked what more

this clinic is heartless!! 8/1/2007

I brought my pooch in for a chronic dry cough and shortness of breath. My vet was closed and he seemed to be having too much trouble breathing for me to ignore it and put it off until morning to see my regular vet.Dr. Tswugawa was extremely pushy about tests and xrays and quilted me into believing that it was a life or death situation. And that they could not treat his life threatening problem without xrays and tests. They estimated my costs (just testing, NO treatment) at 900.00 to 1100.00 $. I maxed all my credit cards, and applied for their credit to do all of these tests. I left a deposit of 700.00$ and left him for a few hours. When I went back to pick him up, I accumulated another 500.00 $ in additional costs and he still had not received ANY treatment. For a life or death situation, why was he not treated with anything. Its appalling that vets like this raise their prices so much that it cripples the average pet owner to treat their animal. Shame, shame, shame on them! They told more
