They do not stand behind their advertised price. I drove hours to buy a vehicle advertised on their website for thousands less than they were willing to sell it for. They use classic “bait and switch” games to get people in the crappy, run down dealership. The manager Mike Madina refused to give us the advertised price, was rude, and wasted an entire day with their shenanigans. more

I purchased a used car from Elgin Hyundai and it turned out to be a lemon, costing thousands of dollars to keep it running. They buy their used cars from auctions, cars reputable dealers pass on. When asked if the car was ever involved in an accident they lied and said “no”, and showed us a fake carfax report. Illinois does not endorse the lemon law on used cars, so stay far away from this dealer. more

We bought a used car from Elgin Hyundai and it ended up having a lot of issues. Every trip back to the service department created another problem. After having a sensor replaced the car was returned missing the engine cover. Went back to have the same sensor replaced, because the issue was not fixed the first time, and I picked the car up with my new Garmin GPS unit missing. This dealer sells poor quality used cars. They never go through the claimed “100 point inspection process”. Every time we had to deal with the GM, JC Prats, he was disrespectful and arrogant. We asked to speak with the dealer group owner, Bob Loquercio (who was sitting at a near by desk doing nothing / telling jokes), and was told he was in a “meeting”. You will be sorry if you deal with these people. more

Just after purchasing a used vehicle from Elgin Hyundai, the vehicle died on the way home and had to be towed back to the dealer. They refused to give me my money back and wanted to fix the car. Three months later, and multiple trips back to the dealer, the vehicle was still not fixed and was NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. They then refused to “invest” any more money into trying to fix the car. The only option they offered was to give me TRADE IN VALUE for the lemon they just sold me, but only if I purchased another vehicle off of their lot, AT RETAIL PRICE. We of course didn’t agree with the terms of the deal, and my family and I were forced to leave in a dangerous car, with JC (the GM) giving my wife the finger on the way out. Do not believe the positive reviews, they are from the dealership’s staff. Do a ping test and you will see the same IP address for all of them. more

I just bought a used vehicle and had a wonderful experience.. They helped me finance my first vehicle. They showed me the carfax right away.. It made so so comfortable, to know that the car had never been in an accident.. There customer service made me feel right at home.. I will always buy from Elgin Hyundai!! I have purchased many cars in my lifetime and always hated when the time was coming up to buy my next one till now. This dealership actually went out of the way for me to make me happy, I did not get any pressure to make a purchase on my first visit and were helpful in answering all of my questions. more

We had a great experience at this dealership. We had quotes from a lot of dealers but this dealer gave us the best quote by far. No typical 'car salesman' pressure once we walked in. The salesman answered our questions and let us test drive 2 different models and answered more questions. We closed the deal the same evening. Even got a good deal on the trade-in. Definitely worth considering if you are in the market for a Hyundai. more

I was literally in and out of there in 2 1/2 hours--that is incredible for a car dealership. They told me about their free car washes for life and even told my boyfriend he could come in as well. more

The sales process was pleasant, and they were met the internet quotes I had. The financing process was very smooth. I got the 2.9% 60 month finance deal. They were very professional regarding add-ons, not being overly pushy. This is the second car I purchased from them. Highly recommended. more

Dave, the salesman, was not your typical salesman. Very laid back, nice, informative, trusting (let my boyfriend and I test drive by ourselves), and just an all-around nice man. I bought a brand new car and he still came down in price. He didn't try to use key phrases or certain sales techniques, he was just down-to-earth and was honest with my boyfriend and I. The sales tactic came into play when they wanted me to get a package that prevented staining in the car and that protected the color of the car. The finance guy was nice, but a little over the top. I kept on saying no, and he finally threw it in for free. So kudos to me :) I was literally in and out of there in 2 1/2 hours--that is incredible for a car dealership.
