If you want your shoes or boots back DO NOT go here. They are the worst! They received a grade of F from the better business bureau. \r I wish I had known there were so many horrible reviews before I dropped off my beautiful boots here. \r It has been almost 2 months since I dropped off a pair of Frye boots to be dyed. Every time I go in they say they are not ready. I have seen the boots at least twice in 2 months, they are ruined and I guess that is why they are never ready. The owner will not apologize for the botched job, will not reimburse me for the dye or the boots, will not return my phone calls and at this point still has my boots. \r This place is the biggest nightmare and shouldn't be in business at all. Very depressing that someone can get away with this kind of service repeatedly. Also very depressing that he ruined my boots and I am now out a chunk o change. more

I wish I would have seen these reviews before making the mistake to go here. I dropped a bag off . they told me 2 weeks, i called and called and after 3 weeks just showed up. Nothing had been done and I asked for it back. They guaranteed it would be done in 2 days and would call me to drop it off, no call! Not answering! I told them I was moving and they promised it would be done. They are HORRIBLE. Twp other people there were claiming they gave them wrong shoes. I should have just left but i had prepaid the work and the guy Jeff seemed honest. DONT BRING ANYTHING THERE. more

Use to be a great cobbler when the old man was still living, even inexpensive. Now, they are pricey, bad service, horrible cobbling skills and get this....I brought in 2 pairs of shoes, one a nice pair of Johnston & Murphy and another Cole Hann...Got the Cole Hann back with an offset heel and tried to give me another pair of shoes that weren't even mine. They swore that this was my shoes even had my pick up tag on them. I told them this was not my shoes, wrong size, color, brand, and they still had an attitude...Left without paying with my one pair...Finally just recieved a call from them, over 2 years now, and said they have my shoes ready!!!!! Get the #$@% out of here!!!! Really!!!! Guess what, they are the wrong shoes, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! more

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid - I brought a luggage bag to Edwards for the repair of a broken strap, paid in advance, returned for pick-up on the due date, and found the shop closed and locked at about 3:00 p.m. on a business Tuesday afternoon! I called a day later, no one answered the phone. A few days later, I drove Magazine Street and seeing the shop was actually open, went inside with my claim ticket expecting the bag since it was promised to be ready many days earlier; yet the Edwards family could not find my luggage bag anywhere on their shop premises, and said perhaps it had been instead moved to their ""warehouse"" and I would be called on my cell when the bag was located. Since no call was ever received, I telephoned the Edwards shop days later, no one answered the phone, and a drive down Magazine showed the shop was again closed in the middle of a business day. After many more trips down Magazine to the shop, I finally went by on a day when the Edwards Shoe Service was again actually open, and demanded my bag; they still couldn't find my luggage bag but again promised to call when it was located. Once more, no call was ever received. After returning back a couple of more times when finding Edwards open, and repeatedly demanding my bag, and over a month after the due date, they finally produced the bag with a shoddy off center strap in place of the one that had broken; I then took my bag pledging to never return again. In compensation for my ordeal they offered to polish any pair of shoes I might bring them for free, I dared not trust them with any shoes of mine for all of the many reasons stated above!!!! more

I just wanted to say that these guys did an excellent job on my favorite pair of Gryson boots. These are the most valuable pair of boots I own and the family at Edwards took excellent care of them - re-soling and shining them up. I see that this place got a lot of bad reviews, and I talked to the manager about that. She informed me that they are now under new management and they are making every effort to improve their service and turnaround times. I will tell you that Jeffery is one of the most knowledgeable cobblers I have ever met. He's a Shoe Guru. They got my business - and I'll be back! more

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I WOULD LEAVE NO STARS BUT IT REQUIRES ME TO LEAVE AT LEAST ONE. I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO IGNORE ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS THEY HAVE READ. THOSE FEW PEOPLE R LUCK TO HAVE RECEIVED GOOD SERVICE. I WITNESSED PERSONALLY FOUR OTHER COSTUMERS SHOWING UP TO GET THEIR ITEMS THAT WERE NOT REPAIRED. THEY LOST OR SAID SOMEONE POSSIBLY STOLE MY PURSE AFTER I PICKED IT UP FIRST TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO BE DONE IT WAS NOT EVEN TOUCHED SINCE I HAD DROPPED IT OFF A WEEK EARLIER. THEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT WHICH IS WHEN THEY LOST IT. THE MAN CURSED ME OUT WHEN THE LAST CUSTOMER WALKED OUT FOR HAVING SAID SOMETHING ABOUT MY PURSES WHEREABOUTS IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER AND I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE TO THE STORE. APPARENTLY THE POLICE CANNOT MAKE HIM PAY ME BACK FOR THE SERVICES I WAS NOT RENDERED OR MY LOST/POSSIBLY STOLEN ITEM. TO GET ANY JUSTICE I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT AND SHELL OUT MORE TIME AND MONEY TO SUE HIM FOR MY LOST ITEM. I GOT THE IMPRESSION THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. more

The owner Jeff has lied to me personally 4 times and said he would bring me my bags to my house because he never had them ready when promised. The first time he fixed my backpack - not the purse - the lining was not stiched back and I had to bring it back and I still don't have it. Yet again, I am going out of town without my very important back pack and purse I bought during a trip to Brasil. Do not, I repeat, Do not ever use this guy - he is a liar with always a good excuse. Do not send your goods down with this sinking ship. He has had my goods since the beginning of February. Cons: a liar and bad work more

I dropped off a Hartmann carry-on bag with a broken zipper and two pairs of shoes for repair. The nice gentleman (not the owner) at the front told me that the luggage repair would be about a month and that the shoes would be ready to pick up at the end of the week. I pre-paid for all of the work and told him I would be back to pick everything up in a month. He assured me that they would phone me when the luggage was ready. \r I waited six weeks (not the four that had originally told me) and went in to pick up my items. The repairman looked all over the shop for my items for more than 15 minutes. I finally spotted my bag behind the counter (literally under his nose). It was filthy and it had not been repaired. The shoes were inside it - also not repaired. It had sat there un-touched since I dropped it off over a month prior. It was dusty and smelled like cigarette smoke as they obviously smoke inside the shop. I had my ""ticket"" and my receipt showing that I had pre-paid, but the gentleman told me that he was not authorized to give refunds and that I must speak with the owner. I left my name and number for the owner and have yet to hear back from him (the bill was $95). The employee there was very nice but had no authority to help me. \r I am afraid I will have to have my lawyer write them a letter to get this refund and will obviously NEVER visit Edward's again (this was the first and last time). It should have been no big deal to get a call back and the refund. Cons: NON-EXISTENT SERVICE more
