Eclectic Cafe

An outstanding choice for dinning on Tucson's east side. The food is uniformly excellent with my favorites being their soups—gazpacho,Mexican tortilla and on Fridays clam chowder— grilled vegetables with chicken, Ruben sandwich and strawberry chicken salad (the poppy seed dressing is sublime). For dessert the bread pudding can't be beat. Their weekend brunch menu has excellent offerings as well with the Monte Christo, chorizo burro with tomatillo sauce and huevos rancheros all excellent. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. Try it and I predict it will become a favorite. more

I used to live in Tucson about 20 years ago, and regularly went to the Eclectic Cafe. It was, quite simply, fab. However, I moved away, and missed it sorely. Recently, my husband was on business in Tucson, and I encouraged him to visit the Eclectic Cafe. He did, and has agreed with me that it really is one of the best restaurants we've ever been to -- and this is coming from foodies that have eaten all over the world, and been to cooking schools ourselves. The food is outstanding -- made with fresh ingredients it's beautiful, delicious, and innovative. The decor is comfortable and classy. The service is impeccable (special thanks to the hostess, Jennifer, who not only guided my husband to the restaurant, but made sure that the experience was nothing short of remarkable). He had the guacamole (""unbelievably good""), chicken crepes (""best I've ever had""), and their original banana chocolate chip pie (""this should be illegal""). This was all washed down with ice-cold beer, and he waddled away in bliss. \r \r I can't be emphatic enough in prodding you to try this establishment. Over the time that I lived there, I had nearly everything on the menu, and never, not once, had something that wasn't fantastic. I have been to Eclectic Cafe once and Electic Pizza three times. Always, the service has been fine or good. PIZZA: The pizza at eclectic is the best I have had in the state by far. The crust is the perfect texture and an excellent flavor. The sauce is fresh and has a little spice kick to it. The toppings are organic, high quality and fresh. The shop has some high value specials that make it worth the drive (from the west). CAFE:\r The cafe has a nice wine selection and very good food. The waitstaff at the cafe seemed competent but not as friendly as I like. The guacamole has sour cream in it, making it weird tasting. The food all seems to have interesting flavor twists. They messed up my order big time! Wrong food, missing items the whole nine yards. When I called to inform them of thier errors they said that I could not get reinbersed for the missing item but I could come and pick it up. A little too late and a customer lost by eclectice (unreliable) cafe. The food wasn't eclectic, it was primarily mexican...last I heard, mexican isn't exactly eclectic in Tucson. Pros: Okay food Cons: Poor Service, and customer satisfaction more
