Terrible Customer Service. 10/24/2011

I took my dog into this vet on a Sunday since it was the closest one open. The dog couldn't breath. They refused to do anything with the dog until I paid them $850 in cash or credit card. They would not take a check. The $850 bought me an hour of time while I had to come up with another $1000 for them to watch the dog overnight. They actually said they would take the dog off the breathing tube in one hour if I didn't pay $1000. Unbelievable. Hours later they still have no idea what the problem is. more

Good to know they're here when you need them. 8/7/2010

Our dog and my son's dog got into a "domination struggle" and our dog wound up on the short end with an inch long gash on his leg. Wouldn't you know it was after closing at our regular vet, and I had no clue what to do...until I called our vets office hoping SOMEONE would answer. Their answering machine referred us to EBVE, so off we went. I have to say that I thought the price was a big high ($500. to clean the wound, suture it, and send him home with meds) however if you think about it, they are just like the emergency room for us humans - you don't really think about the cost when it's an emergency - you're just grateful they are there. Overall I felt they offer a good service for a slightly higher than normal price (pretty much what I expected). The only real complaint I have is that you have to go back when they're done working on your animal...that 2:00 a.m. trip across town to pick up our dog wasn't fun. more

New facility doesn't mean good care!!! 9/13/2009

I was not impressed with the services at all! I have a young puppy that had been vomiting all morning and it was a sunday. I went to ebve, the facility is very clean and new, the staff and service was awfull. They proved they are out for the money and not the care of animals. my dehidrated pup was there for 3 1/2 hours before getting any fluids, and that was only after I had agreed to all the vet suggested. $500 for a puppy with little upset tummy nothing found wrong, other than being dehidrated. I would never use their service again nor recommend them at all. I'd drive to concord instead.\r Another person their the same day as me, had very bad service also. zero stars from me!!!!!! more

Nice to have them here in the area... 6/12/2009

I had to take my dog here one time last year. They not only did a good job of taking care of her, but did not gouge me on the price either. I am very happy to have them here close to Brentwood. Before we had to go all the way to Concord for any after hour visits. Anybody who writes a negative comment about them should remember that they are the ONLY emergency vet in this area and if they do not make it our other alternative is another 30 minute drive. Is you animals life worth it?? I don't know if they are the best vet in the area, but I don't care so long as they provide quality emergency services and do what it takes to keep my animal alive. That is why we have a regular vet to visit for any non-emergency related visits. more

A necessary addition to the community 9/24/2008

When I first moved to Brentwood, the local vets provided their own 24-hour service, but as Brentwood got bigger, a lot of vets started referring emergencies to the clinic in Concord. That was a long drive with a sick or bleeding animal, and picking the animal up at 8:00 am in Concord was a hassle in Hwy 4 traffic. \r \r I was so grateful to have EBVE there when I had to use it the first time. My dog had been sick earlier in the day and went to his normal vet. The vet was uncertain of a diagnosis and sent him home after some tests. The dog had a crisis in the evening and was unable to stand up. We rushed him to EBVE, where the doctor on call detected a symptom in his eyes that told him what the problem was, and what medication was needed. Rusty was much better and we had a peaceful night. \r \r I was impressed by the staff's efficiency, cleanliness, and security. more

Wonderful People, Wonderful Clinic! 1/17/2008

I have gone to EBVE several time since they opened and each time they have been prompt, professional and compassionate. Even when I had my senior kitty there just for overnight observation, they kept me informed of his status and were pleasant when I called. It is so nice to have an emergency clinic local to us in the east-east bay and I am certain many lives have been and will continue to be saved because of them. more

GREAT PLACE!!! WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE IN THE AREA!!! 11/9/2007

FINALLY!!! AN ANIMAL EMERGENCY HOSPITAL IN ANTIOCH. GOING TO CONCORD WAS SUCH A PAIN AND THE RISK OF MY PET NOT MAKING IT WAS MUCH GREATER DUE TO THE REASON OF HAVING TO TRAVEL SO FAR. EBVE IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE PEOPLE AND THE SERVICE ARE GREAT! I COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE AT 2:00AM. THE DOCTORS ARE OF HIGH CALIBER AND THE QUALITY OF THE MEDICINE IS OUTSTANDING. THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THEY ALL LOVE THEIR JOBS AND THAT THEIR FIRST PRIORITY IS THE CARE AND WELL BEING OF YOUR PET. I WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING THERE AGAIN, SHOULD THE NEED ARISE. more

I was not impressed 5/14/2007

I took my dog here after an injury the required immediate treatment. This being an emergency vet, it was open the hours my vet was not. The facilities were nice (brand new) but the people were not. \r the vet techs were very rude and didn't really seem to be interested in caring for animals at all. \r It was a very stressful Time for my family and I really didn't feel my Dog was in good hands here. more
