Crooks, Rip Off BEWARE! more

I am not too bright when it comes to simple plumbing problems. I had water slow dripping out of my Price-Pfister faucets in both bathrooms. I called Dutton Plumbing. Told the operator that I do know that it is a very simple job but I just don't know where the washer goes to stop the drips. And, don't think of trying to charge me over $100 (I ain't that naive). 2 young plumbers show up, tell me to fix it, they could do it 2 different ways. The band-aid approach (their words) would be to change the stems - $180. The right way - around $300. I told them ""No way"". I did, for some foolish reason pay their service call fee of $39, plus $20 extra for their 1 year service plan which would include inspecting the water heater and sewer line. (but no work done) The next day, I turned off the water, opened up the faucet (24 seconds) and pulled out the stem and brought it to the plumbing store. They pulled out the old washers sold me 2 rubber washers ($1.62 with tax). Had me go home to see if that would work. If not, they told me to come back and buy new stems @ $10. Well, the washers worked perfectly. Total time it took me, 7 minutes, $1.62 !!! Dutton, could have done it, but they got greedy. Shame on them. No integrity. Certainly no repeat phone calls from me, I wrote them, no reply. And, I don't want them inspecting my Water Heater or Sewer line, that I paid for. I DO NOT TRUST THEM, they can keep the extra $20. more

They are the best...! I had 3 different problems over a 2-3 year period and they were just great! Prices were also very fair, trust me. The techs were very professional, they did the work, cleaned up after the jobs were done and it looked like they were never there. They obtain A+ more

Punctual plumber and very friendly service…!!! They installed a tank less water heater for me. They were right, it is much more efficient and I’m already saving on my utility bill. I don’t have to wait for the water to heat up and I don’t have to worry about it running out. Love it. Thanks for explaining and offering it to me. more

I called Dutton Plumbing couple of weeks ago because I couldn't find my plumber but what I found was a professional plumber. My sewer line is now unstopped and now works like new. My ex-plumber kept having to come back out and charged me over and over again for the same stoppage. He was cheap, but it does start to add up...Thank you…! more

I called them at 3AM and took a schedule in next day. The next thing you know, they were knocking on my door and we discussed the situation. He's a good, decent man who wants to help his customers and will go above and beyond to do so. I repaired my sewerage line by them and it is working well. more

These guys are lifesavers...!!! And the price was really fair!!! They save my three days child. My water heater leaked after my childbirth and then I called Dutton Plumbing. They could understand the situation and came in only 20 minutes. I am definitely going to be using them in the future. more

I have a tank less water heater in my garage. For some reason the water in my home was coming out. I spoke to a number of companies over the past few days trying to assess this problem and determine the best route to go. Most companies had no idea how to fix the problem. We called about 5 to 6 companies to see if they could come out right away and explained to severity of our situation and none of them would call back to set up a time to do the job. But they did not respond and then I called Dutton Plumbing. They had a plumber out to our home an hour later and fixed the problem without any problems. more

I just want to say this plumbing co was easy to use from the minute I called them till they were done with the work...... not your typical plumbers in dirty truck and T-shirts..... clean neat... polite... spoke English.... I felt comfortable... I was not intimidated.... or made to feel like they were trying to push stuff on me or rip me off... I trusted them... if you need a plumber call these guys!! more

These plumbers came out to my house to fix a leaking pipe and replace a water heater with those new tankless ones... really love those.... The plumber was neat, clean, in a clean truck, when I called to book the call the dispatcher was professional... I could understand them on the phone.,, when they quoted me a 45 minute window... they were there in 30 min.... I was given an estimate up front.... no gimmicks... no bate and switch stuff...definitely worth the money..... best part... everything they said they'd do they did!!... plumbing works now!! and SIDE NOTE.... the plumbers that came to my house were drug tested and a full criminal history back ground check done... I asked about this... because I have a lot of nice things and I don't trust everyone.... just FYI more

there is a difference between those crappy plumbers you see driving around with dirty trucks... dirty employees...unlicenced... uninsured ... you want cheap.. hire them at YOUR own risk... seriously\r \r and then there is Dutton Rooter...The best of the best...would hire them again in a second.... and will... nuff said more

have called several plumbers for an on going problem I have had with a sewer problem over the years.... I have spent thousands of dollars on repair after repair... called many plumbers... these guys showed up looking dirty... scruffy... typically Butt-crack plumbers with tatoos and peircings......I was just being milked by these idiots.....they never fixed my problem... just charged me to put a bandaide on it....\r DUTTON PLUMBING came out and fixed my problem once and for all .... they were clean, neat, polite, gave me an estimate that I could have said YES or NO to......... I love Dutton Plumbing... they were straight forward and honest.... I trust them... I know the plumbers aren't going to rip me off... If I thought the price was too high I can say NO.... I make that choice..... I found their price to be very competitive with plumbers of their caliber.... if you want a great plumber.... hire them.... if you want a BUTT-CRACK... there are plenty of them in the phone book waiting to rip you off more

They charged my elderly parents over $500 simply to install a couple of standard bathroom sink faucets. $500 for LESS THAN 1 HOUR of work - then further ripped them off by selling them a one year ""service plan"". Scamming the elderly - way to go Dutton. more

Dutton Plumbing is a rip off. Get another plumber do not waste your time. A PVC broken line repair should not cost over $750. That is want they try to charge. They have a book of job charges and the prices there make me want to be in the plumbing business too. more

Having grown tired of calling around getting inaccurate phone quotes and handymen who have really no idea how to do plumbing, I called Dutton Plumbing to handle major backups at my residence that have been reoccurring periodically. Right away I had a technician at my door who obviously knew everything about the problem, he ran a camera for me and discovered I had roots in my line. We went over several options and finally went with their hydrojetting service. It worked great and was at a very reasonable price considering the machine they used and the time it took. They blasted all the roots out and I don't have problems anymore, better than the handymen that get their snakes stuck and give up! Called to just have my toilet tank assembly replaced, as the tank failed to refill after flushed. Since they bill only by the job and not the hour, the cost was over $327 for about 30 minutes of labor. The technician then proceeded to try and talk me into an ongoing service contract. When speaking to the customer service agent concerning my grievance, he stated ""we believe that charging the customer by the job and not the hour actually saves our customers money"". If you believe that $327 is a justifiable expense for something I should have purchased at Lowes for $30 and installed myself, by all means, call them. What I also find amazing is that almost every negative review on this site was rated as ""not helpful""...hmmmmmm FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER PLUMBER, THESE GUYS ARE A RIP OFF !!!!!!! Pros: Nothing that outweights the costs Cons: Costs more than twice any other plumber I called afterwards more

Please beware of these people as to what they charge for parts. The prices that they charge are exorbitant. They came down at my place to replace a leaky flapper. The flapper cost they charged from a book was $125, apparently due to the fact that it is branded flapper vs a generic one in home depot. I paid that price and was okay as this was my frist time ever interacting with a plumber. Guess what my leak is back in couple days. This time the guy visits again as they offer 90 day gurantee. This time he tells me that there is some other part that has gone bad and now it is going to cost me additional 300 dollars. They were taking into consideration the $125, as their original cost is 425 and change. What a rip off. I simply asked the guy to leave. Please beware of them. When you speak with them on phone make sure you enquire about their entire cost. Pros: Kind service person. Cons: Rip off in terms off prices. more

I have worked with several plumbing companies in the past, and the plumbers at Dutton Plumbing are by far the most knowledgeable and hard working in the business. They installed a new faucet in my kitchen the other day and it looks great and feels sturdy! They really are the community's most trusted plumber, I've recommended them to my neighbors. I had a gushing leak from bathtub faucet on a Sunday and was over a barrel because I needed it fixed immediately. Dutton charged $356.18 for a part that they told me ""was difficult to get."" I had no choice. Two days later, I had a good handyman take the part to a hardware store and found that it cost $6.49!!!! A discrepancy of about THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. When I called to speak with a supervisor, they told me that all supervisors ""were not in."" I'm still waiting for a call . . . . Cons: GROSSLY INFLATED COST OF PARTS more
