Easiest car I have ever purchased!! We selected the car we wanted online, called the dealership with the trade-in info, we completed the credit application online, drove over for a test drive, and we were in and out of the dealership super quick. There was never any back and forth negotiating (I hate that stuff!!). The process is a bit different, and I am sure it's not for everyone, but for us, it was perfect. I love my car and know I got a great deal on it. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional, particularly our salesman, Bryan. We will definitely go back. more

Same here went and looked at a used car and I drove over to check out the car. The receptionist was very friendly, took it for a test drive, but the salesman was INCREDIBLY rude so I just left. more

I travelled 250 miles to look at a 2008 Lexus ES 350. I was told on the phone before I came down that they were flexible on the price. I drove to Birmingham and entered the dealership. No sales person greeted me or even looked my way. The receptionists were friendly enough. While they were pulling the car around for me to drive it, I took it upon myself to go shake Jeremy's hand. He was polite, but didn't look terribly pleased to see me. Pros: null Cons: null more

Posted Service Prices are Totally False Underhanded Billing 10/19/2010

I purchased my VW from Donahoo and got a great automobile at a fair price. I was happy with the car and service we got, so I decided to take my car to the service department when it was time for an oil change. I had looked around and gotten several quotes from shops for prices on the oil change. I was happy to see that Donahoo was the lowest price at $34.95. Below is the actual copy and paste from their website: more

Strangely Good. 9/19/2010

My husband and I purchased a 2008 BMW X3 from Donohoo last week and all I can say is WOW! The car was a steal of a deal and it runs like a dream. As stated in previous reviews, the sales approach takes some getting used to, because there really is no sales approach. The "salesmen" are really just drivers. You tell the receptionist which cars you'd like to see, and the "salesman" pulls the cars around so that you can take them for a drive. They do not ride with you, they do not negotiate, as a matter of fact, I don't think we ever said a word to our "salesman." When we were ready to do paperwork, we told the receptionist which car we wanted and from there we were directed to an office. more

Brilliant. Very happy. 7/7/2010

From Texas and bought a 2008 BMW from Donohoo and I could not be more pleased. The car is excellent, the buying process was excellent. I actually bought it sight unseen and trusted them and it worked out. I would buy from them again. There were no problems with these guys ? in fact it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. David and Nic were great. As well as that being excellent so was their administration paperwork side, the titles, the financing, etc? They took care of everything. I would recommend them to anyone. Price was very good (no negotiating as that?s the way they operate) and what was advertised is what I received. VERY pleased. Thanks Donohoo. Pros: Honest. Good businessmen. Cons: Didn't have any. more

Great Dealership! 6/14/2010

I live in Greenville SC. About 2 years ago, I had an extended stay in B'ham and found myself looking to purchase a car for our daughter. I found one at Donohoo. Before purchasing, my husband came to see the vehicle and the stopped in Atlanta to check autos there and do some price comparisons. The end result was Donohoo's price could not be beat. Since then, I returned to purchase a car for my son and on a whim, traded my car also. So in less than a year and a half, we purchased 3 cars from Donohoo. David has been our salesman every time, (I do not buy without David). I look forward to our next purchase from Donohoo. I cannot see us going anywhere else. They are definitely worth the drive! Service is incredible! Pros: Wonderful place to do business! Cons: the drive more

A great place to buy a car 3/11/2010

Too bad the other reviewer did not understand the business model. The staff is very upfront about the price of the vehicle. They advertise an extremely fair price so there is NO negotiating. Their advertised price is the bottom line. I drove 300 miles to buy a Lexus because it was a top notch vehicle at the best price in the southeast. I offered less than advertised via a phone conversation but a salesman explained their method of doing business and I said fine. It was still the best price. There are no pushy salespeople because they do not work on commission so everyone is willing to help you. Best car buying experience I have ever had and I am no spring chicken but I am an accountant! Pros: price and helpfulness of sales people Cons: non more

Horrible Experience with Salesman 2/24/2010

Was in the market for a vehicle and found one online that was for sale at Donohoo Auto in Pelham, AL. I drove over to check out the car. The receptionist was very friendly, but the salesman was INCREDIBLY rude and acted like he didn't want to deal with me even after I made a cash offer on the vehicle to begin negotiations. He didn't even make a counter offer to get things going; he was very short and rude. I am a very pleasant, laid back person, and buying a car is incredibly stressfull. These people are NOT fun to work with and I took my business elsewhere. I would NOT recomment doing business at Donohoo Auto even to my worse enemies. Pros: Nice lot, huge inventory of nice vehicles Cons: Unpleasant and unprofessional salesmen more
