I have been to the Dining Room in the past, and it has blown me away, to the point of making Valentine reservations 3 months in advance. I was really looking forward to it, even at a $160/plate prix fixe.
Unfortunately, the special Valentine menu was more of a novelty than a culinary achievement. The dishes were all meant to be eaten by hand, and were innovative, but the execution was lacking. For example, there was a ""Fish and Chips"" course where the fish was greasy and bland, and the sauce was nice but not amazing. The dessert was ""Chocolate Hamburger,"" which looked very cool, but was virtually inedible - a chocolate paste and raspberry sauce (the ""ketchup"") sandwiched between two dry buns.
At $450 (without wine!) for two, it was a great disappointment.
Pros: Romantic, Attentive service, Live harp music
