We went here for a special occasion and cannot wait to return. It is expensive and should be reserved for special occasions, but I cannot imagine any reason why it would not more...

Worst

If I could sum it up in one word, it would be arrogant. The chef used obscure flavors and ingredients just for the sake of being ""creative,"" but rarely did they compliment each...

Staff better than food 6/2/2002

Not stuffy at all, I expected attitude going in and coming out but not at all. the staff was personal chatty when we wanted to talk and the timing of the food was flawless. The sommelier guided us through so many great wines by the glass that we never even ordered a bottle of their amazing list -$$$. The food though was pretty basic, I was hoping for the food to stand out, but with the level of service we recieved it couldn't possibly. The staff is clearly Ritz Carlton, but the food is Marriott. A Rare Find 5/29/2002

I have dined in alot of San Francisco's finer establishments but I have to say without a doubt The Dining Room was my most memorable experience in a long time. The entire evening was truly unforgettable. The Lobster Salad was amazing and the Turbot with asparagus and morels followed by the Rack of lamb with carmelised ribs were truly unforgettable. The wines that the sommelier paired with our dishes were a match made in heaven. We shall return again and again. more
