Lasik at diagnostic eye center was the best choice I have ever made! If you are even considering lasik, call and schedule a free consultation here. My lasik appointment was at 3 yesterday, and was on the way home at 4 with better vision already. I woke up this morning with no pain and could see better than I did with glasses! I had my follow up appointment this morning and had better than 20/20 vision, I have 20/15!! I was a ball of nerves at first but the procedure didn't hurt at all and really was nothing to worry about, it was was so easy and over before I knew it! Everyone is so great and Dr Sanders made me feel so comfortable. Wish I would've done this year's ago. Thank you Dr Sanders!!!!!! more

Terrific experience. I've been wearing glasses since I was 5 years old. Before my Lasik procedure, I had 20/400 vision. At my 1 week follow-up appointment, I was at 20/15! The entire staff at DEC is extremely professional and friendly. Their Lasik procedure room is really modern and sleek. Their equipment isn't even 1 year old yet. The procedure itself is really painless. I didn't feel any pain at all. They talk about feeling ""pressure"" during one part of the procedure, but I didn't feel a thing (and I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to pain!). The entire procedure lasted about an hour: 30 minutes to let the Valium set in + 15 minutes for the actual procedure + 10 minutes for the post-op exam. When I got home, I took a 4 hour nap (recommended by the doctors), then felt pretty drowsy all night, thanks to the Valiums. The next morning, I was able to read. At the day-after follow-up appointment, I was seeing at 20/15. If you're considering Lasik, I would highly recommend DEC. Doctors Sanders and Whelton are wonderful. more

Mi experiencia en Diagnostic Eye Center fue muy y muy positiva. \r En Houston hay una multitud de clínicas que practican esta intervención y elegir entre tantas no ha sido una tarea fácil. Pero no he lamentado ningun momento mi desición de operar mis ojos en la clínica de Dr. Sanders. \r Dr. Sanders y su equipo han sido muy amables y dispuestos de aclarar cualquer duda. La intervención ha sido tan rápida (aunque, claro, antes de someterme a ello sabía, que no duraria mucho, pero tampoco me imaginaba que iba a terminar tan pronto). Durante la intervención no experimenté ningun dolor ni tampoco alguna sensación desagradable. Por tener cornea muy fina no ha sido posible aplicarme Lasik, por lo que Dr. Sanders utilizó la tecnolgía PRK. Mucha gente que se ha sometido al mismo procedimiento suele decir que experimentaba dolores fuertes durante unos días después de la intervención. Mi caso no ha sido asi. Fantastic 5/11/2012

I have been wearing contacts for 15 years. After the quick LASIK surgery, I am now seeing 20/10. I would highly recommend using Dr. Sanders and his. They are all very professional and were able to answer all of my questions. I've never felt so comfortable going into a surgery. Thank you for everything. I am one happy patient. more

GREAT EXPERIENCE! 2/12/2012

At first I wasn't sure what to think about Diagnostic Eye Center when I first visited their location on Edloe. The building is a bit on the older side and appeared worn down (the elevator didn't look like it would close at first!). But after meeting the staff and Dr. Sanders himself, my fears were eased. They were extremely courteous and comforting throughout the entire process. I didn't feel like they were just doing my surgery to make money... they assured me that they were selective in whom they chose to take to surgery, which was reassuring since I wasn't sure if my cornea was thick enough to handle being cut on. An added bonus: the fact that they prescribed valium for me to take prior to the procedure. That definitely helped with my anxiety! The actual location of the surgery is in Sugar Land - in a fancy new building with new, modern amenities. During the surgery, my husband read through all the pamphlets and informed me later that they used the newest technology for the surgery (including a laser that keeps track of the movement of your eyes so that if you look around too much, it'll actually stop). The only real ""discomfort"" I had during the procedure was the suction thing they put on the eyeball which was just a lot of pressure (it left some conjunctival hemorrhage which made me look like I was bleeding from my eyes. It eventually went away after 2 weeks though). The rest of the procedure was a blur thanks to the valium! They recommend sleeping for 4 hours after the procedure but I kept waking up (I'm not used to napping in the middle of the day) and felt my eyes burning... more than I expected. But after 4 hours, the burning went away and my vision was 20/15 the next day at my follow up appointment! I had problems with dry eyes and halos at night during the first week, but by the 2nd week, those symptoms had improved significantly... which was a huge relief since I had problems with dry eyes even before the surgery. All in all, I highly recommend Diagnostic Eye Center!!! more

Worth Every Penny! 2/12/2012

Dr. Sanders and his entire staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. They made me feel very comfortable and explained everything thoroughly, from the initial analysis of my eyes to the step by step process of the procedure. The next day I woke up seeing 20/20. I highly recommend Dr. Sanders and his staff for anyone considering lasik! more

Dr. Sanders and his staff were so professional and friendly and made the process very easy. I highly recommend this to anyone who wears glasses/contacts and has thought about getting lasik! There's virtually no pain and I was amazed with perfect sight the very day of the surgery. I just had it yesterday and I already have between 20/15 and 20/10 vision! Went to 2 different places for the consultaion, one of them being Diagnostic Eye Center. They were by far the best in price and customer service. The other was almost twice as much and less informative. Procedure was fast and smooth. Didn't have any complications the day of or after. I would highly recomment this to anyone looking into doing lasik. more

My experience with the staff at Diagnostic Eye Center and Dr. Sanders and Welton was top notch. I'm an Internal Medicine resident myself and I contacted my ophthalmology friends who all spoke highly of Dr. Sanders. The entire process was streamlined without any bumps in the road. The procedure itself was quick, very little pain, and no complications thus far (1 week in and my vision is great). I highly recommend this center to everyone and especially to other medical professionals. more

Best LASIK doctor 12/29/2011

I had LASIK here last week, now my vision is better then 20/20, it's actually 20/10 one week post-op. I healed right away, no dry eyes (biggest concern), no night time vision issues. They use a blade free procedure to create the flap, you will feel no pain. They talk you through the procedure, they tell you what happens when, they even count down the seconds for the procedure, so you know exactly what's going on and when. It helped me, because I was concerned I might involuntarily move my eyes or try to blink, even thought the laser has a tracking feature and will follow your eye, and shut off if you move too much. Boy, was I anxious about getting my eyes under a laser, but the staff and doctor Sanders put you at ease, give you a small prescription for Vicodin, ( not that that helped my nerves much :)) but I swear, you will feel no pain, and when you wake up from your recommended nap, you will think that a miracle happened. Everybody there rocks! All the fantastic reviews you will read about this place are true, I was concerned they were writing their own praises, but my expectations have been exceeded. I am so glad I have chosen Diagnostic Eye Center. They are the best, from the amazing Dr. Sanders, to the nicest staff. This is the place to go if you care about your eyes, they have earned a customer/patient for life! Thank you, Doctor Sanders and staff! more

From an Extremely Nervous Patient 11/28/2011

I was definitely on the upper tier of patient anxiety about getting Lasik done and I don't think anyone on Dr. Sander's staff would argue that. I don't like anyone even going near my eyes and would not have considered Lasik had I not developed GPC- a condition where your eyes become allergic to contacts. I'm 25 and could not even see that there was a letter on the screenwhen Dr. Sanders put up the big E in the exam room. I didn't want to be stuck in super thick glasses forever, so after gearing myself up and calling Marcus about 5 times to ask him question after question and him patiently answering I booked my appointment. more

I have been wearing glasses and contacts for almost 15 years and I'm so glad I chose the Diagnostic Eye Center for my LASIK surgery. Dr. Sanders is an amazing doctor! 11/7/2011

I am nineteen years old and I was wearing contacts/glasses for 13 years! My vision was looking at -9 and the doctors estimated at best that I was only going to be able to see 20/25. It's been two months and I'm seeing at 20/15 already! This was something that I couldn't even fathom before! Being able to be under the care of Dr. Sanders and his assistant Mark is the best thing I have ever done. He is an amazing doctor and the entire process of the LASIK is one of the easiest decisions I have ever made in my entire life. If you are doubting it; don't. This will and is going to be the best decision you have ever made. Being able to see clearly is priceless. more

Normally, if a service asked me to write a review, I might be a bit hesitant. Not in this case. Happy to let everyone know. Getting LASIK done w/ Dr. Sanders was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was completely comfortable and relaxed and was at 20/15 within 24 hours. Dr. Sanders was very pleasant as was the rest of the staff. I also want to give my regards to Marc for all the work he did! They make a great team. One of the things that struck me was all of the pre-screening they did to make sure that I was a good candidate. They were very thorough and I never felt rushed or pressured. more

Lasik 9/18/2011

All I can say is I waited too long to do this. I am so glad that I picked Dr. Sanders at the Diagnostic Eye Center. He had such a friendly personality and so ready to answer any concerns that I had. The staff was so accommodating and professional. I do not have one complaint. I wasn't the least bit nervous, they took care of everything. During the very short procedure they would actually tell you how long it would last by counting down. But the best part of it all was when I woke up the next day I had 20/15 and it was awesome!!!! I would definitely recommend Dr. Sanders and his staff to anyone who is thinking of having this procedure done. Don't wait another day! more

great experience 9/17/2011

My sister had Lasik done by Diagnostic Eye Center and had a great experience, so when I decided to get Lasik done as well, I chose Diagnostic Eye Center. When doing consultations with most other places, you don't actually get to meet the doctor that will be doing the procedure. At Diagnostic, I met Dr. Sanders on my first consultation and all my questions were answered. During the procedure, he walked me through every step and made it as comfortable as possible. They even put a blanket on you in the procedure room since it's freezing in there (to keep the laser at a certain temperature). All the follow-up visits are free, and my vision was 20/15 the day after I got the Lasik done. The staff is also very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend Dr. Sanders! more

Best place for LASIK 9/10/2011

I had been thinking of LASIK for years now. A couple friends recently had their LASIK procedure done and were very excited about the results. This encouraged me to start a search for the best place for LASIK in Houston. After 3 consultations with different doctors I decided on the Diagnostic Eye Center. What I learned was that although there are cheaper options you don't necessarily want the cheapest doctor operating on your eyes; so this ruled out those $395 an eye places. Prices between Berkeley, Mann Eye, and Diagnostic Eye Center(DEC) were very similar but what set D.E.C apart was the personal service and care that the entire staff demonstrated. From the initial consultation Marcus took care of all my questions and made sure that I understood the procedure. They always follow up before and after appointments. The technology they use is top notch and Dr Sanders ensures you are well informed of what's taking place as it happens in the operating room.. Overall great service and great results! On my second day I am already 20/10! I feel comfortable recommending them to all my friends. My wife will be having her procedure there soon. more
