Del Toro's Tex Mex

The fajitas were on sale. My wife and I were going to share an order. I was told we could not or pay another $6.00 (there is no sharing charge stated in the menu). Then, my kids got kids meals. The drinks say ""included"" on the menu. We were initially charged for both. I asked to speak to the owner Raul. He came over and insisted he was not nickel and diming us. He said he would take the drinks off. We got our bill and only one was fixed. I called him over again. He was raising his voice to my family telling me he's only taking off one. This was very embarrassing. We used to frequent this place 2-3 times a month. My family will never go back after how we were treated. I was told that even though we were regulars, that didn't matter. We used to go there and have trouble finding a table during the week. Now a days (with only using half of the space they once used) it is easy on Friday nights. The food has always been good. They used to serve complementary soup which was excellent, I was dissapointed to see that go. My complaint has always been with the service. Some nights it can be extremely slow, even when the resturant is uncrowded. Servers could stand to be a bit more professional. Pros: chips and salsa complimentary Cons: slow service at times more

After searching for quite some time to find a replacement for ""La T's"" (you locals know what I'm talking about), my wife and I finally came across Del Toro's. Well, the search is over! I was very impressed with this restaurant. We went on a Friday night at about 630pm and were seated immediately. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant was full, but was deceptively large and had plenty of seating. Our waitress was very nice and the staff seemed to work very well together, while having fun in the process. I had a ""Perfect Margarita"" which was outstanding (can't go wrong with a Cabo made Margarita), and we shared an order of Guacamole as an appetizer, which was also excellent. I ended up ordering the taco/enchilada combo. While the food was very good, what I really liked was the different options for sides. Usually, you only get to choose from Rice and Beans, but Del Toro's expanded that to Cilantro-Lime Pilaf and Jalapeno Mashed Potatoes. I like trying new foods so I had them both and they were fantastic! My wife had one of the specials, the Green Pork Tacos, and it too was excellent. My only regret is that we didn't save room for dessert. Oh well, next time. Because there will be a next time, and many more after that!
