Best

The service and food here was great. It was a pleasant meal but a bit on the pricey side. Although tasty and good dining experience it can only be attended on a very special night.

Worst

Cold food and rude service. I didn't know the server was doing me a favor by waiting on me. I could have written a book by the time dinner was over ( 3 hours for 3 courses). I li...

Great dinner 1/20/2008

My fiancee and I recently had dinner at Davio?s. She kept asking me to take her there?she had heard so many good things from her coworkers. We had an amazing dinner, our steaks were perfect as was the tiramisu and service. I have been to many good steakhouses in Philadelphia and Davio?s is now at the top of my list. more

Best steak in the City...Best Pasta.. Amazing Service.. Great Atmosphere 1/14/2008

Eight of us just dined at Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse on Saturday. This is not the first time we have eaten there. It is our favorite place to go to. The Steaks are bar none the best you can find anywhere. Not only are the steaks great but the pasta is delicious. We had, as usual, amazing service. The minute we walked in the door the manager recognized us and addressed us by name. how great is that! The service was superb.. why go to anyother steakhouse in this city.. I would recommend Davio's to everyone..It is romantic but can also accommodate larger numbers of people.. LOVE IT! more

Great Sommelier - But the Food I could pass on 9/24/2007

My husband and I are foodies - we live in NYC but travel to other cities and go out to dinner often. This was our second time in Phili and have yet to be pleased. The atmosphere at Davio is warm and inviting (watch the slick floor if you are wearing heals). One of our two waiters was quite nice and knowledgable and the recommendation by the sommelier was spot on; I have rarely had such a well described bottle of wine live up to the description. But I would pass on the food. Having gone to many great steak houses I have high expectations. But to be charged $50 bucks for a bone in steak and have it taste like char and be extremely overcooked was suprising. I dont mind paying for good food, in fact its how we spend our hard earned cash. But this was just average. Maybe the Italian dishes were better, if so they should not bill themselves as an Italian style steak house. Your money would be better spent across Rittenhouse square at either Smith and Wolensky or Mortons. Pros: beautif atmosphere and great sommelier Cons: the meat had no flavor more

A really superb dining experience 3/13/2007

The place is great, the food was sensational and the service impeccable-what else is there to say! We all met here after our "Day in Heaven" and Davios really went all out to help us make this such a special day. It is not so often that 12 women can all voice their opinions and say that this was a wonderful meal. Pros: great food, service and ambiance more

Wonderful Service, Delicious Food, and a Knowledgeable Sommelier! 3/3/2007

We enjoyed dinner at Davio's on Saturday February 24th. The restaurant was located just two blocks down from our hotel, and was perfectly located for us. The dining room of the restaurant is located in a former bank, and the second-floor location revealed a huge open area with high ceilings yet was somehow still quite cozy. We had a wonderful, knowledgeable sommelier and our server was terrific. Attentive, but not hovering. Instead of the usual bred prior to dinner, we were presented with a lovely array of fresh ricotta cheese, marinated mushrooms and olives. That in itself would have been a lovely feast! We started with salad; I enjoyed a Caesar presented with full romaine leaves intact and fresh anchovy. It was quite good, but nothing extraordinary. Davio's is known for their beef, so I went with a filet mignon. It was seared perfectly crisp on the outside and yet was warm, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth on the inside. I ate the entire thing with relish. Dessert was tiramisu; it was better-than-average but I LOVE tiramisu and have tried it almost everywhere so I am a bit spoiled. It was good, but not worth sacrificing my first-born for. Overall, I would highly recommend Davio?s to anyone looking for a great steak in the Philadelphia area. I will be back next year! Pros: Wonderful Servers and Sommelier, Gorgeous Architecture more

Great atmosphere for Business Dinners 12/4/2006

Great place to take a client, co-worker or business associate. Elegant enough but comfortable and convenient to downtown and the center city. Food and service were above par. I would recommend the steaks and not the fish. Pros: Elegant yet relaxed atmosphere more
