Review content:
My husband and I are foodies - we live in NYC but travel to other cities and go out to dinner often. This was our second time in Phili and have yet to be pleased. The atmosphere at Davio is warm and inviting (watch the slick floor if you are wearing heals). One of our two waiters was quite nice and knowledgable and the recommendation by the sommelier was spot on; I have rarely had such a well described bottle of wine live up to the description. But I would pass on the food. Having gone to many great steak houses I have high expectations. But to be charged $50 bucks for a bone in steak and have it taste like char and be extremely overcooked was suprising. I dont mind paying for good food, in fact its how we spend our hard earned cash. But this was just average. Maybe the Italian dishes were better, if so they should not bill themselves as an Italian style steak house. Your money would be better spent across Rittenhouse square at either Smith and Wolensky or Mortons.
Pros: beautif atmosphere and great sommelier
Cons: the meat had no flavor
