Given the stellar reviews on Yelp, David and Sons was the first place I went to to start looking for an engagement ring. Angela immediately greeted me and after finding out what I was looking for, told me "this will be the first and last place you go to". I had brought my girlfriend with me with the goal of finding out what kind of ring she liked, and then I figured I would go somewhere else to actually get the diamond and the ring so I was pretty skeptical at her comment. The first ring Angela showed us was just perfect. We looked at about 50-60 other rings in the store, and we just could not move away from the first one. After about an hour or so of looking at all the rings, we asked how much the ring was, and after Angela pulled up Blue Nile to show us all the same cut/clarity/color/carat diamonds, she gave us a price cheaper than the lowest price on Blue Nile. With the setting and wedding band combined, we were surprised to find it fairly well within my budget. Given that their rings are one of a kind, we surprisingly felt ready to purchase but I was pretty skeptical still and had to make sure we were getting at least a fair deal. We compared to a store nearby (right across the corner) and found that a fairly similar style was 25% more expensive. Somehow we ended up buying the ring on the spot, and when we got home we had to do our research to see what kind of mess we may have gotten ourselves into. We found an online site with an exact c/c/c/c stone that was $1400 less than what we paid, and, extremely concerned, we went back into the store -- especially as they guarantee they will meet any internet price. Angela took our concerns and explained everything to us--that there were different certifications, and they only use GIA or EGL USA, whereas many of the cheaper stones with the same 4 Cs may be certified by EGL Europe, ISI, or other not as respected certifications. She even called the online website to find out more about that stone, and they turned out to be a site that lists stones for other jewelers and don't actually have the actual stones. My girlfriend actually called this company herself before Angela called that company, and she was given the exact same information. Despite the fact we could not obtain the actual stone, David and Sons still gave us a (significant) discount to reassure us that we got the best deal possible. In today's age with big corporate stores, you just can't find this kind of service anymore. We are 110% satisfied and I can't believe it only took a few hours to find my engagement ring. I can't thank Angela enough for being so reassuring and for picking out the perfect ring on her first try.
