Amazing engagement ring 3/4/2010

My fiancee got me the perfect ring! He went in w/ an idea of what i wanted, and they designed it together. My ring is unique and looks incredible!! Fay is the best!! It was a little big, but they resized it and had it back in 1 day!! I highly recommend David & Sons!! Pros: beautiful ring, excellent service Cons: None more

Dependable and reasonable 2/28/2010

My wedding band (originally from another jeweler, who is no longer in business) got destroyed by the garbage disposal. After looking for a new ring, I found that I needed to have mine re-made custom if I wanted it to look the same as the original. A few jewelers I asked did not seem to have the experience or ability to do this for me. I took my ring to D&S and not only did they tell me they could make a ring that looked just like the original, the price they quoted me was reasonable (other places wanted to charge me much more to make a ring 'similar' to my original). I was very happy with the result, and as a bonus am able to take my ring back in for free cleanings that make it look just like new again each time I do! They have great customer service, are dependable, and reasonable. I highly recommend this place! Pros: great custom work and reasonable prices Cons: mall parking, but really this isn't too bad more

The BEST Jeweler Ever! 12/23/2009

My husband and I have been shopping at David and Sons ? La Jolla since we first started dating in 2000. The service here is the very best! Everyone is so friendly and they make you feel at home. You never feel pressured. They are just helpful. David and Sons was the place for my jewelry before we were engaged, my engagement rings, our wedding bands, my circle diamond necklace that my husband gave me on our wedding day, etc. I know that my jewelry is always going to look as good as new because they will always fix anything, clean anything, dip any of my white gold and at no charge. They are very speedy when you take something in and call you as soon as it is ready to pick up. I helped my dad pick out at David and Sons a beautiful 3-stone diamond anniversary ring for my mom and then the following year he went back and got a diamond band for her at David and Sons. Also my boss at the time got his wife some diamond hoop earrings that were just like the ones I also got at David Sons. Made my ring from boring to Fabulous. 10/20/2009

I searched many jewelers in the S.D. area. I walked in to the store, not sure how I wanted my wedding ring upgraded. We finally came up with a custome setting. I had to wait 2-3 weeks for the ring. Wondering if I made the right choice. When they gave me my new ring, I jumped up and down with delight. I even started to cry. It was so beautiful. My ceneter stone (emerald cut) was raised and outlined with small little diamonds. They put my trillions on the sides of the bands with diamonds going around the band. I love it. Fantastic Jeweler! 10/15/2009

From the moment I walked in, Emil and his staff were extremely helpful. As this was my first purchase of an engagement ring, I was a bit nervous. Great place for Wedding Bands! 10/5/2009

My husband and I both got our wedding bands at David and Sons and we couldn't be happier. Mine turned out beautiful and everyone always makes comments about it; especially about how it sparkles so much. Everytime we go into the store everyone is always SO helpful and genuinely friendly- they even offer to clean my rings for me whenever we are there. We plan to use them again in the near future- they really are top notch and do amazing work! more

Now Serving our Family's Second Generation! 9/7/2009

My first purchase was at the old location in Downtown Chula Vista. The recommendation came from a friend. I was nervous because I did not know much about fine jewelry and did not want to get taken. This was over twenty years ago, and I have never shopped anywhere else. Edmund in Chula Vista and now Emil at UTC treat me like an old friend every time I come in even if just for a cleaning or jewelry inspection. Impressed the Pessimist! 8/22/2009

I'm skeptical about a lot of things, and I usually don't like shopping. But when I went to David & Sons with my fiance to select rings, I have to say that I was impressed. Emil (you'll use his first name too after you go there!) walked us through our options (we're young and have modest incomes) and after just thirty minutes or so my fiance had on the absolutely perfect ring. We were shocked that we could afford a center stone of that quality and size, but thanks to Emil's advice, we could. He was up front with us and said that for our budget, we would either have to go for a smaller center stone, or skimp on the plushness of the side diamonds in the setting. I have stared longingly at the beautiful rings in the windows of David and Sons for 3 years now. They have the most amazing settings. I looked at so many stores and I never found anything that compared. My fiance and I ended up working with Emil. He helped us find my perfect ring and gave it to us for a great price. Out of all the stores we visted for an engagement ring, David and Sons was hands down the best one in town. NIcest people, great service, very accomidating, and offer no pressure to buy. I will never look any other place for any kind of ring, necklace, bracelet, anything ever again. Highly recomend visiting. Pros: Nicest people you will ever work with. Cons: None at all! more

My Wife and I have made a number of puchases from David & Sons over the years. From diamond rings to necklesses and braclets. Emil and his staff have always been very professional and courteous. However the main thing that has always impressed us is that we never feel pressured to buy but when we do buy the prices are always vey fair and the quality is EXCEPTIONAL. They go above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied. Whenever we are looking for jewerly we go directly to David & Sons and don't waste our time looking anywhere else. My fiance did not buy my engagement ring there, but we did find a match for it, and a nice wedding band for him too.
