Darling Brides Showcase & Tuxedos

Bad experience all around from delivery to staff. We order the bridesmaid dresses after being told delivery would be 3rd week of May for a July 18th wedding After order was placed date was changed to June 22nd close but still okay, The owner said dresses had been released from customs no problem would be in on that date. NO DRESSES new delivery date July 3rd nervous but okay NO DRESSES owner was on vacation all information on delivery was with her. Staff I spoke with rude and thought I was unreasonable for wanting to talk to the owner while she was on vacation. Owner returned my call to let me know that dresses would be in on July 10th 3 bridesmaid of the 4 were out of the state 2 returning on the 13th the other would not be in town until the 17th owner says no problem alterations will be done she will take care of covering the cost. After fitting the 1 bridesmaid that was in town called me and says $93.00 for alterations because it had to be let out 1 bridesmaid were told no alterations need just use double sides tape (2 dresses 1 of them being the dress $93.00 was paid to be altered, were loose in the bust looked bad and gappy took 5 or 6 pieces of tape still was not the best look) tried tried to talk to owner when I picked up dresses about the charge for alterations she would not give me the dress unless it was paid (what else could I do but pay it) All of these girls were measured by the owner herself and only 1 dress fit guess she does not know her business or cant read a tape measure one or the other more

5 stars plus...I couldn't and don't believe some of the other reviewers since my experience was about as good as it gets. I had my wedding gown, bridesmaids and tuxedos along with alterations and Kim (owner) did a fantastic job of keeping me informed from the get go and through the entire process. Darling Brides really saved the day for me! One of my bridesmaids dropped out two weeks before the wedding and I wanted another girl to step in. Because they were different sizes, we needed to make another dress because it was too late to ship online from the manufacturer. I went to Kim frantic, and she said it would be no big deal. They ordered the fabric and had it altered to perfection in a little over one week. OUTSTANDING! more

I had searched and searched for a dress and couldn't find a single thing that I could say I loved,until I found Darling Brides Showcase. I spent a long time going to Davids and to a Place called B Ella and couldn't find anything in my budget that was perfect. I ended up falling in love with the very first gown I tried on at Darlings. The manager Kim was wonderful and so were the two consultants. The girls were enthusiastic and super helpful and made my experience wonderful. They made it clear that I was welcome to come back and try on my dress at anytime and to bring in anyone that I wanted to show them my dress. I ended up buying my bridesmaids dresses and renting my tux's from Darlings. \r Darlings also offers an alterations department that I found wonderful, the seamstress is very professional and did a fantastic job. I am very thankful for their services and for them doing a terrific job making me feel special more

I went to Darling Brides for everything but Tuxes. I had ordered my wedding dress, BM dresses, and 2 flower girl dresses here. They were the only shop that carried Maggie Sottero dresses in the area, so this is why I went there. The girl that helped us the first time I went in was so sweet. I loved her. She was super patient with me and made trying everything on fun. Unfortunately, I never saw her again. The 2nd time I went in, there were 2 clerks who seemed annoyed that I was interrupting their conversation. Each time I had questions I got responses that were full of exasperation, as if I was too much work. I decided that I would order my BM dresses from them anyways, because I liked their selection and thought it would be more convenient since I had ordered my dress from there as well. I chose a color & style with the clerks and sent the info to my bridesmaids. I found a dress that was beautiful, but had expensive and uncomfortable beading, but they said that they had an un-beaded version that was cheaper and exactly the same as the one with beading. This is what I chose. When my BM's ordered their dresses one of them called saying that it was more expensive and a different color than what I had told her. When I called the shop, they had down both the wrong color, and the more expensive version of the dress. I spoke with Kim who was very helpful, and she asked me to come in to verify the dress color and style. I went in and verified, and felt relieved that at least we caught now rather than when they arrived. A few months later my dress arrived. I felt that even though I'd read a few negative reviews about their alterations dept I would go ahead with it since I figured they would be experienced. They did not mention pricing ahead of time and when I finally had my dress all pinned up I was told that it would cost 350$. This was 1/3 of what my dress cost! I called another bridal shop that would alter it for less than 150$. I told Darling Brides I was taking it elsewhere and they said that for a half an hour of pinning I had to pay 50$ AND that they were taking out the pins. If I wanted the pinning left in, I would have to pay another 50$. Which was ridiculous. I told them to take out the pins and was charged the 50$ for ""EXPERTISE"" that I really didn't get to take advantage of since they removed the pins. Throughout all of this I did not get upset. I am pretty easy going and sometimes mistakes happen and different places have different costs/policies. However, the reason I am writing this right now is that after checking my with my BM's, who's dresses just arrived, I find that their dress is still not what I was told it would be. I chose the dress I did because they said it had a corset closure, which i had wanted for two reasons 1: Most of my bridesmaids have larger chests and the corset style gives a little more support. 2: My dress has a corset closure, so it would match mine. Unfortunately, the dresses that they received had zippers I have never before written a negative review for anything, but I felt that others should know to be careful when they order BM dresses here. Make sure you check EVERYTHING before they send out the whole order. You should also look around for places that are not as expensive for alterations. We are on a budget and found other places places MUCH cheaper. more

My wedding was perfect thanks to Kim at Darling Brides. Unlike my experience with the large chain in town I was able to remain informed and if there were any issues I could talk directly to the owner and get an answer. This was not the case where I was recently in my friend?s wedding and she went round and round with that big chain store. I got almost everything from Darlings. What most impressed me was my first visit where I wasn?t sure what I wanted and Kim told me she?d help me with as many dresses as I could try on in order to help narrow what I liked and disliked. Also, the gowns were accessible. They weren?t in some plastic bag that needed to be opened like at some of the other stores I visited. All in all Darlings was great. more

I have nothing but good things to say about Darling Brides Showcase. I?m a big girl and was able to find a good selection of gowns to try on. Even the ones that didn?t fit?I was asked if I?d like to try them on anyway and a consultant would clip the back. This worked and gave me a good feel for what looked best on me. I obviously needed alterations as I found that most girls do. The only way you may not need them is if your measurements fall in the size chart perfectly. Anyway, I got my alterations done and what a fantastic job! I will be having other alteration work done at this store in the future. The service at Darling Brides is seriously incredible! Kim was my consultant for my appointment, and she was incredibly enthusiastic. I am a plus-size bride and proud of who I am, and she did not make me feel anything but beautiful! After going to all the others there was no comparison to Darling Brides. I purchased my bridal gown, bridesmaids and did tuxes. I was hesitant putting all my eggs in one shop but am glad I did. I might be accused of being a high maintenance bride/ bridezilla so Kim Darling the owner had her work cut out. The experience was top notch professionalism at every turn. All my girls were different shapes and sizes and the alterations woman did and excellent job of making the dresses look as if they were custom made for each girl also at a very fair price. The tuxedos came in 3 days before the wedding for my guys to try on and adjust. The other tux stores could only promise that the tuxes would be there 1 day before the wedding which caused concern. Also, we didn't have to have the tuxes returned until the following Monday which made it much easier for everyone. I had a HORRIFIC experience with Darling Brides and would give less than one STAR if I could. I bought my wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses and tuxedos there. Needless to say, they made a lot of money off of our visit. We were still treated with little regard. First of all, my plus size bridesmaids had to pay $40 extra for their dresses due to their size. But the real problem was with my dress. As an out of town bride, I had to make special trips in from Georgia for fittings. My first fitting went as planned, they cut the bottom of my dress to reduce the length and pinned so they could take in the extra material. However, on arrival for my 2nd fitting I realized that they had not touched my dress since my first fitting. The bottom had the same jagged edges as it did from the first fitting, and the pins were still in place. I kept my calm and they told me that by the 3rd fitting everything would be as it should. I went to Darlings for my 3rd fitting one week prior to my wedding day. The dress STILL had pins in it, the length was uneven and in TERRIBLE condition. I was furious. The worst part about the whole experience was the attitude of the manager and seemstress. They were not apologetic or even interested in my concerns. They actually told me that they needed to do all alterations with me standing in the dress! They also said that sometimes a bride needs 4 fittings before the dress is complete! This was one week before my wedding day! The interesting part was that within two hours, my dress was complete- and I did NOT have to stand in it while they prepared alterations. So, my 3 fittings were obviously not needed since it only took a couple of hours to make all alterations. I made 2 unnecessary trips from Georgia- not a cheap task. I was outraged by their lack of profesionalism and attitude toward me. I never received an apology only a simple ""weddings are stressful"". I have purchased my bridal gown, 8 bridesmaid dresses, 1 mother of the bride dress, and 2 flower girl dresses at Darling Brides. I have also done all of my bridal alterations, and other accessories. Throughout the process, they have been incredible! I had a major dress crisis--and they bent over backwards to make sure that I felt beautiful in my dress. Not only that, but they were able to accomodate rush alterations for one of my (overseas) bridesmaids--they have given us wonderful, personalized service in every way. I feel so comfortable within the store and with the staff--I highly recommend this store for how they walk with you through the entire process! more

I went here on a lark at the last minute, just half an hour before they closed, looking for a bridesmaid dress. I'd not found any that I'd liked at any other bridal shop, and I'd been to plenty. \r \r The lovely staff were friendly and kind, and found me the perfect dress right off the bat--on sale, no less! The salesclerk I worked with seemed to really know what she was doing, was considerate of my body type, and had no problem pointing me towards a lower-priced gown that she knew would be the most flattering. She was patient and complimentary while I tried on a few others (just to be sure, of course) but in the end, I was sold on that first dress. \r \r Even though I was only looking for a bridesmaid's dress and not a bridal gown, I was impressed by the bridal gowns I saw there. Ordered our dresses here. All but 1 of the girls dresses were WAY too big. Guess who got most of the alteration business. They did. But not from this bridesmaid. I tried the dress on. It was clearly a least 1 size too big. I did lose some wieght, but not enough to cost me $146 for the alterations. I ordered extra length on the dress. The lady pinning the dress actually cut the fabric while I was in the dress. VERY unprofessional! I wasnt told about the huge cost until after the pinning was done. After being told it was $146 I left the dress there and called around for some quotes. I went back and asked them to reimburse me for the alterations. They charged me $30 for the pinning they did. Then they took the pins out, and gave me the dress. So I left, out $30 (for pinning which they undid) with a dress almost ruined because of how she cut the fabric. I took it to another place where I paid $65 for the alterations. So all in all, they didn?t get my money, and I ended up paying $95 including the ""pinning"" fee they ripped me out of. and a dress that fit perfectly after giving someone else my business. I may only be a bridesmaid now, but I will be getting married sometime and I will not be visiting this store.
