D&R was very nice and polite with my plumbing emergency. I was in a real panic because of a flood going on in my basement and I call up Richard the owner of D&R and he sent out a tech right away. The plumber was real nice and polite and they went the extra mile to explain to me what had happen and help me with insurance company. I have used other companies in the past and I can honestly say that this company stands out from the rest. I also notice that over the weekend that they are the sponor for the play area at Eastland Mall. I have a little girl and it was very nice to see that I have supported someone that did something like this for community. I got a chance to meet the owner (Richard and his wife and their little girl) because he was handing out balloons and you know that did not even charge for the mylar balloons, they were Free to everyone and he told me that he just like to see the smile on the kids faces. Wow -- I really did love that answer. I really do not write reviews -- But I had to on this one because of what I saw @ Eastland Mall. Please consider them for all your Plumbing and HVAC and electrical, I know that I will and it is nice to see that there is a company out there that does care. more

I called D&R on April 11, 2011 because I had a leaky pipe under a bathroom sink and because I had removed my bathtub spout hardware after tiling and the new hardware I bought to replace the old did not fit the spout coming out of the wall. D&R sent someone out the day I called them and called me before he arrived. The person they sent informed me that the bathtub spout could not be adjusted to fit my new hardware. Instead, a new spout would have to be installed, involving pulling the tile off my shower wall. I opted not to have that done. Also - he identified the leak under my sink as a faulty plastic pipe from a recently installed sink stopper and informed me I needed to get a new pipe that was not plastic before work could be done. The person they sent was very nice and courteous. It took him 15 minutes to inform me he could not help with either issue. He had to charge me a service charge, which was $85 after he gave me a $25 discount. I understand plumbers' time is not free. However, I could not help feeling ripped off after paying $85 for somoene to spend 15 minutes to tell me he could not do any work for me. I did get a replacement pipe and called a different plumber the nextg day. They sent two plumbers out and fixed both issues - replacing the pipe and adjusting the spout - wihout having to remove any tile. They charged me $105 for actually doing work. That was only $20 more than D&R charged for doing absolutely nothing. Needless to say I was extremely happy with the second plumber i called and will call them from now on, instead of D&R. more

D&R Plumbing was absolutely awesome! I waited about a month to write this review just to see if anything they worked on would need to be repaired again. The answer: NO. Everything from my electrical to my plumbing problems is working perfectly. Another huge bonus was the patience they had with me with all my questions and hanging around to see if I could learn from the man who came out to my house. Thanks, D and R !!! Rich and his crew were on time, answered all my questions. Had a leak in a pipe that made it impossible to use my washer without flooding the basement floor. They called when they were on the way, fixed the pipe in record time, and the price was reasonable--also the amount was broken down so one could know exactly what they were paying for. D&R responed to our needs in a timely manner and went above and beyound showing us the issue regarding the sewer line. I found out that the issue was more involved than just a toilet and that there was a serious case of roots in the sewer line. They walked us through a few ways to address this issue and there was no pressure on us to go with either one of the fixes that they were recommending. They showed us on the camera all the issues with the sewer line and where the problems were located. No other drain cleaning company has done that for me in the past or even offered a camera service. I was happy to see the actual conditions of the pipes and now have a clear understanding of what the REAL ISSUE is and what we can do to fix those issues. I had a problem with my toilet and had someone out that day at a time that was convenient for me. The next night an unrelated issue was still occuring with the toilet and at no charge, D&R was out to find the problem and actually took the time to show me how to fix the issue if it occurred again in the future. Richard showed me how to fix my shower faucet at no charge. Most plumbers would have fixed the problem in 5 minutes and charged me for a full service call. We will definitely be using D&R in the future. Pros: Friendly, Professional, Helpful Cons: Better late than never more

We've had recurring problems with deposits in our hot water, clogging faucets, etc. and then we stopped getting hot water. I wanted to try a new plumber, so I Googled hot water heaters and came up with D&R's excellent website. Mike was quickly dispatched, and my problems are vitually eliminated. I may need to get a new water heater, as electric heaters do not do well with Bloomington water, but right now, things are very good thanks to Mike's prompt and effective diagnostics and service. We have continued to have one of our toilets refuse to flush! We called one sewer company after another, only to have the toilet overflow once again within a month. This time we called D&R Plumbing. Mike came the same day we called, identified mold as the problem as it was stopping the water supply, and adjusted the workings of the toilet. We could not have asked for better, more courteous service than we received from Mike and D&R Plumbing. more

We have had a toilet stopped up several times. We have called more than one sewer drain companies, only to have someone come out, "fix" the stoppage, and have it stop up again, the last time within a month. We finally called D&R Plumbing, they came out, identified the problem, which was NOT the sewer drain, but mold clogging up the water supply! Mike was super courteous, came out the same day we called, and explained the problem and how we can avoid it in the future. We will definitely call D&R Plumbing again for any plumbing problems. more

His crew showed up a little ahead of on time which was great. They offered options as to how to thaw out a frozen sewer line. They assisted with the process and had the line clear in a few minutes. Rich called to tell me that the crew would be arriving soon as his crew was pulling out of the driveway. We had a good laugh about the call and how the line was cleared.
