D.R. Barlow & Sons Tree & Landscape Service, Inc.

In June 2008, I used D.R. Barlow and Sons Tree and Landscape Services, Inc. to trim a Cherry Blossom and Holly Tree located on my property. I found their services to be wonderful, friendly, perfected, and loyal to the landscape request. After my two trees were trimmed beautifully, Mr. Barlow offered to trim four additional scrubs before he left my premises - free of charge. I was his last trimming service of the day, therefore, time was not of the essence. Also, Barlow and Sons were extremely professional with their services and cleanup. Any questions I asked about the tree trimmings throughout the process were answered quickly, very concise, and without hesitation. In other words, the personalities of each crew member was outstanding. No one requesting tree trimming services from D.R. We are more than disappointed with this company. They came out to appraise the job and were very friendly. However, when we scheduled the appointment, the following week, the night before they were supposed to come, they called to reschedule, apparently due to the high volume of down trees from recent storms. They rescheduled for 2 days later - today. We agreed to let them reschedule as long as we did not get rescheduled again which they assured us would not happen. I have been waiting this morning for them and they are now 1.5 hrs late, have not called, and don't answer any of their phones. You judge for yourself. Just an update.... almost 2.5 hrs later, we finally got in touch with someone after we called the office numerous times and I even tracked down his home phone number and left a message there. We told him that it was very disappointing that not only had they rescheduled us for their own schedule, and we had tried to accommodate them on very short notice, but also it is unacceptable that they did not even call. The owner is a nasty man. The end result was that we canceled the service and want to make sure that everyone knows what they are getting into when they sign up to work with this company. I used Barlow and Sons Tree Service to have several tree removed from my property. While the trees were removed the stumps have yet to be ground down. (Going on 3 weeks now). I requested this service to be completed at the time of the tree removal, however, the owner informed me that his stump grinder was not available the day he showed up. He assured me that in the next 2-3 days he would be back to complete the work. My biggest mistake was taking his word for it and paying him in full for the service. It has been over three weeks now as I stated before, and I cannot get the owner to return any of my phone calls (I have called 5 times). I even told the owner that I desperately need the stumps ground down before the delivery of a garden shed, which is going in the spot where the stumps are located. Beware of using this company. There are many other tree service companies around the area. more
