Excellent Customer Service 9/23/2008

I have been to the D Gellar and Sons store on Plesant Hill road several time and continually recieve the same great customer service. I have worked mostly with Erica Mistretta who helped me purchase a 10 year anniversary ring for my wife, as well as many other pieces of exquisite jewelery for my wife. She has gone above and beyond my expectations each time that I have worked with her on my purchases. I don't know that I will ever shop anywhere else for my jewelery needs. more

Great Customer Service 9/19/2008

I went to the store to find a pair of diamond earrings for my wife and was astounded by the exceptional service I received. I was unsure of exactly what i was looking for, but Erica Mistretta was very helpful and patient with me. She has made me a D Gellar customer for life. Pros: Great Service Cons: Interior seemed dark and dreary more

I enjoyed the sales people 9/18/2008

This past weekend I went to D. Geller & Son on Cobb Parkway looking for a watch for my boyfriend for his birthday. I was greeted at the door by a tall young man named Stephen who helped me out a lot with making the decision of which watch I wanted to get my boyfriend. When I told him my boyfriend was VERY clumsy, he told me that a Tissot was a good watch to go with because it had something called a sapphire crystal face, which wouldn't scratch. I didn't think that I would be able to find a good watch in my price range, but Stephen took his time helping me out and got me a great watch for my money. I'm so happy to see my boyfriend showing the watch off to his friends, and I may send my boyfriend back to D. Geller to get me apair of diamond studs that I saw as a Christmas present. ;) Pros: Very nice people, relaxed atmosphere, not too stuffy Cons: I have no complaints more

The Best Jeweler in Atlanta 9/18/2008

I have been using D. Geller for close to 20 years. I have never had a bad experience with them. I purchased my wife's engagement ring there and when we went to look for wedding bands, she found 2 wedding bands at a competitor. We came back to D Geller and described and drew on paper what we thought looked like ""wagon wheels"" with diamonds around them. Christy at the Cumberland store found them at 1/3 the price. A great savings for me. I have purchased diamonds, rings, ear rings, bracelets, watches from them and have never been disappointed. We have seen items at other locations even out of town, and brought back pictures and drew sketches of things and Bobby, he is a true craftsman, has custom made jewelry for me. He has made ear rings, necklaces and rings as gifts for my wife. Both Christy and Bobby are great assets to D Geller. If you have not worked with them you are missing out. We have nieces starting to graduate from High School and have started buying graduation gifts for them. My wife tends to like different looks when it comes to jewelry. They will call when somthing unusual comes into the store. They know both of us by name when we walk in, so it is a great experience all the time. Yes, I have looked at other stores, but I always by at D. Geller. They save me money and I know I get great value for what I am purchasing. Pros: great value, great service and willing to listen to my needs more

Best Jeweler in Atlanta 9/18/2008

My wife and I have been going to D. Gellar since 1997. We buy something there or upgrade something about every year. No pressure, good deals, unbelievable sevice. I have been reading some of these negative reviews and I just can not believe some of you have had these kind of experiences. I almost have to believe that some of D. Gellars competitors are playing games with the reviews, mostly from jealousy. Whenever my wife wears some of her jewelry out she almost always gets asked where did you get the piece? I t is beautiful. She never hesitates to tell them D. Gellar and that she would not go anywhere else. Pros: Layed atmosphere, no pressure. more

Best deals 6/12/2008

This place is great. The prices are wonderful and the staff really works out great deals with you. Great trade in program Pros: Excellent deals Cons: Pressure sales more

Childish, Unprofessional 4/19/2008

Why would anyone go to this place? They make fun of not only their other businesses, but the physical traits (such as voice and looks) of people that work at their competition on their radio commercials. The OWNERS of this store do that on radio commercials. However, the childishness doesn't stop there. Their employee's will make fun of their competition as well... Just go in one of these stores and ask about their competition. Why would you trust a company that doesn't have enough business ethic to at least not make fun of their competition in a personal way? Pros: They're sometimes inexpensive Cons: Questionable business practices, childish, not worth it more

I love my ring... 2/11/2008

I could not help but read the reviews about this company.. wow! There are some pretty bad reviews on here. My experience was pretty good. They where a little pushy in making a sale BUT, they made the perfect recommendation that I bought. I have nothing negative to say about my experience at this store. I love what I bought. Pros: They where affordable for what I wanted Cons: To far to drive more

I don't think these people are as bad as the reviews say... 1/24/2008

I went to see this place today for myself and did not expect to buy anything. Just because of the reviews I have seen on various sites. I hear them on the radio along with the shane guy all the time claiming to have the best deals in town.. Well truth be known, I didn't have a bad time at all. They where helpful and nice and where not all up in my business. Yup.. I did it. I bought something there anyway... and my wife loves it! Prices... well something nice isn't cheap right? Pros: nice people Cons: to far to drive for me, i'm in newnan, ga more

Lacking basic business ethics 12/14/2007

This place needs to send just one of their employees to business school, and others to a shower. Their ploy is to get you to put down a little bit of money on some piece of jewelry before you leave the store. My experience was very similar to some of the other negative reviews. We saw two rings we kind of liked and they pressed us and pressed us to just put some money down on the ring and a diamond. They also said that they would give the band for free ($1500.00) if we buy the diamond that day. I told them that I was not comfortable discussing price in front of my fiancee and they could not have cared less. They kept asking me about price over and over right in front of her and told me it doesn?t matter if she knows the price. Also, when they saw that I was leaving they were right down rude and said that if I came back they would help me but not be as nice to me. That is when I just laughed and walked out. There is a reason they are located in run down strip malls!!! Pros: it was good for a laugh Cons: Location, staff, tactics, ethics, hygiene more

Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/26/2007

I tried to leave a review and I think I messed it up so here it goes again. They have everything and there prices and good. I've bought one diamond ring and two watchs from them. Each time I've taken the ring to have it checked they do it while I'm there and there always very promt and helpful. Pros: Alot of selection more

Worst experience I could imagine! 11/21/2007

I went with my girlfriend to the Barret Parkway D. Gellar to browse come engagement rings. We had been to several other places, so we had a good idea of what to expect from a quality jeweler. What we got was completely the opposite. They had a very young girl with really disgusting nails come and help us first. We found a decent setting and they went to the back and found a stone for it. The setting plus the stone was upwards of 5,000 originally. After telling her that we were just looking, she immediately started saying things like, what can I do for you to buy today, and talking about how the price of diamonds is about to skyrocket. She then proceeded to say that she would toss in the setting for free (1300) so now the price of the ring was only around 3700. She brought in another man, who looked unshowered and was wearing shorts while drinking coffee. He was unbelievable. I asked to see different stones and he told me that this was a great stone and it was the one that I wanted. There was never any rating on it, clarity or color. He told me that ratings weren't important and that people make up there own scales to fool people. Anyway, he ended up slashing the price to around 2600 and then I had to walk out the door while he was yelling at me to come back. Overall, terrible experience. It made me feel like the ring was probably really bad quality and I feel bad for anyone who buys jewelry from them. Pros: none Cons: everything about it. more

Best Diamond Store in the Metro area. 11/7/2007

I shopped all over town, went to D.Geller and Son last, their prices were the best, the people really know the product, I talked to two Graduate Gemologists, its a fun down to earth place. The employees talk like regular people and really feel strong about their biz.. I've never been to a jewelry store run by regular people, it was very comfortable, selection was overwhelming. Pros: Huge selection!!! low prices!!!! more

Great experience 11/6/2007

Every visit to D Geller has been a positive experience. Customer service is great and so is the selection. Employees seem knowledgeable and attentive to the customers needs. more

To Pricy to be Wholesale 9/25/2007

I went last Christmas to purchase the circle of love for my daughter and find the quality and price did not add up. I expected the price to be mor e reasonable than what was shown to me. When investing in a piece of jewery my expectation was that I was going to get a great price and good clarity of the diamond. I end up buying from another company. The service was not what I expected. more

A Sleazy Used Car Dealer would be proud of Stan and his crew 8/19/2007

My fiancee and I were either lied to or had ""our"" diamonds switched on us. ... We had looked at rings at a couple of jewelers and went to D. Geller last. What a mistake! First of all we were shown engagement ring with REALLY big price tags on them (about twice what were had seen in others stores) for the same size diamonds. The young sales person told us that we were looking at a ""E"" color and a ""VS1"" clarity diamond. When we said that we wanted to see something in a ""G"" or ""H"" and a ""SI1"" we were told that they didn't carry those kind of ""lesser quality stones"". We we then ""passed"" to a more experienced sales person who told us he would see what ""he could do"". After about 10 minutes Stan Geller came out and apologized for not having rings to compete with the other stores and that he was going to ""chew out his buyer"". After a few minutes the second sales person came back and said told us that if we would give a little on the price Stan would sell us the ring at close to the price of the other stores price. ... Like a fool I fell for it and bought the ring which I later had appraised as an ""I"" color and ""VS1"" clarity. An ""I"" color is far different from the ""E"" we were told and a far ""lesser stone"" than the ""G"" we asked to see. This is where there NO REFUND policy gets you. You leave the store with your purchase and your stuck. ... Be smart and STAY AWAY! Pros: Store is heated and air conditioned Cons: Total lack of ethics more

Run Far! Run Fast! 7/5/2007

I was just in D. Gellar on Cobb Pkwy. this morning looking for a watch for my husband for his birthday...specifically a Tissot. I clearly stated to the saleswoman that I was only looking and still doing my research and I WAS NOT ready to buy today, but was close to making my choice. She showed me the Tissot watches and in my mind I made note of the watch I liked best. I asked her to write down the model number so I could come back and purchase after I made my mind up. Low and behold...out comes ""Supersales Man""! The first thing he said was ""What can I do to get you in this watch today?"". I told him that I was clear with the sales woman that I wasn't going to buy today...he ""Yeah she told me that."" I started to walk away and he said in a louder voice...""How about if I drop it down to $450?"" I said no. Again in an even louder voice...""What is it gonna take for you to buy this watch?"" Then in my loudest voice...""NOTHING! I don't like being pressured!"" \r \r So I go back to my office and conatct the store manager. Even bigger mistake...when I explained to him what happened...he said, ""I told him to go say that to you. And if we listened to people everytime they said that in our store we would have closed a long time ago."" \r \r Needless to say D. Gellar needs to teach it's sales people how to treat customers and how to make a sale in a professional manner. I understand they are in sales....but it is still important to listen to their customers and their needs. This manager had the perfect opportunity to turn this bad experience around, and he acted the worst!!! I was certainly planning on buying the watch from them...but now, I'll go elsewhere.\r \r I will share my experience with those I know and let them decide for themselves. The reaction so far has been, ""I won't be going there anytime soon."". Pros: Nice watches Cons: Horrible sales people...even worse store manager. They won't listen to their cusomters! more

They know their stuff and the price is right. 6/16/2007

I will always go to D Geller when I need to impress my wife. My wife was a jewler in the Seattle area until she retired to take care of our sons. I went to 3-4 jewelers in the Atlanta area to find my wife a 10 year anniversary ring. I was highly dissapointed in the knowledge of the salespeople at every store, until I went into D Geller in Gwinnett. They listened to what I wanted to buy and how much money I wanted to spend. They came back out with 4 options. I picked out what I wanted and was out in no time. They did not try to upsell me. My wife loved it, and she used to be in the business. Pros: staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly. Selection is huge. more

Worst jewelry store ever. Worst ever. Run away. Run far, far away. 6/10/2007

RUN FAR, FAR AWAY! They do not give refunds. Nothing. Do not buy anything unless you want to be buried in it. They charge about 1/3 more than the jewelry could be purchased anywhere else. Go somewhere with a return policy. Go somewhere that will not steal your money. When they say, what can we do to make you buy this diamond today, RUN! Jump up and RUN! Run! If you want INSIST on buying something there, know about the 1/3 markup and bargain down. more

The worst - don't waste your time! 6/5/2007

Save yourself the time and do not even go here. We were just looking for engagement ring ideas in 2002 and stopped by there. The service was horrendous - high-pressure to the point of ridiculous. The first guy helping us had to go get a manager or co-worker (the old double-team trick). The 2nd guy came out and was wearing rolled-up jeans shorts and a t-shirt (not professional). He started basically yelling at us, trying to figure out how to get us to buy that day. (Which we weren't going to - my husband was not going to buy it in front of me!) The guy's line of choice was, ""What am I going to have to do to get you to dance today?"" It was like a bad movie - and he said it about 5 times! We couldn't believe it. We told him that the exact same diamond was way cheaper at Shane Co, where we had just been - and he yelled, ""FINE! Then go buy it there!"" So we walked out, and did. I will NEVER go there again and have told everyone I know to avoid it. Between their service and their immature, unprofessional radio ads, I am not sure how they are still in business. more
