Moved with this company for the third time. I was most pleased with the last time. They do something different than before. I have always gotten 3 man crews but now they have a Quality Control Manager who comes out for a while to help and quality control I guess. I told them I like the new touch and I think others will to. more

We hired DC Mover to move us from Durham, NC to WV. The owner came out and did an estimate for us and I felt very comfortable with him and I choose him over two others where I didn't meet the man in charge. In my experiences owners do good work. If I can get the owner I go with them. We were going to pack ourselves but time didn't allow so we asked if they could do it the day of the move with no previous notice. The owner said he always personally supervises pack jobs and so they stayed til 9 PM packing us and then returned the next morinng to finish and get us on the road. I had 3 scooters that had to go but I couldnt drain the fuel so I couldnt take them. The owner tried to siphon them, then he tried to leave open the tank to see if it would evaporate over night. I had no idea how to get the fuel out and had no suggestion. I knew I didn't want to leave them and they were already towing my Jeep so they couldn't be hauled. The owner kept at it until he finally said ""We are strong enough to just turn these over and pour it out"" So they did. I don't know why we got the extra attention or if it is even extra but I couldn't ask for more. Very good, good enought to write this about them even thought I will never move again as I am retired. more

I recently moved long distance and had exceptional service with another company. Soon after I moved locally with another local mover. This final move I hired DC Movers because of their three man crew. I figured this would save time. I was wrong. First off, te crew was over an hour late to arrive with no phone call. Upon arriving I walked them through the place. The move consisted of mostly furniture with maybe 20 boxes or less (on the account I had moved many myself the day prior). The crew took forever. They moved extremely slow and the entire move took an hour and a half longer than the prior move with only two guys. I did move into a newly built home and the workers had severely scuffed the walls, put dents in the wall (claimed they would have someone come to look at it which never happened) and were very haphazard with the furniture itself (scratches and dings on several pieces). They appeared to have very little regard for my personal property. I would never use this company again and please weigh your options when deciding to hire them. A more

I got a full service move from DC Movers. That means I didn't do anything except open the door. My company was paying and I had an estimate done to give to my office. The quote was a few hundred less than the others and I liked the review so I went with company. They came the day before and packed up everything. The owner was there and he said he normally does the packing. They knew what they were doing. They packed it all up in about 5 hours and the next day it took about 8 to move it all. We had a 3000 square foot house and then they delivered it to Charlotte from Fuquay. I have moved many times and found this service to be one of the best I have ever had. I have had some doozies. more

The movers at DC Movers were great. We moved for 5 hours with the economy move. That's the move where we pack and they move. It went great as I said. I recommend this company and will use them again. more

I moved from Fayetteville to Sanford this weekend. Friday my boyfriend and I were looking at our belongings thinking how much we didnt want to move them but we couldnt afford what movers were charging.We found a flier at our mailbox area in the complex and they had a special advertised econ move $299. Well, we knew that a move from Fayetteville to Sanford could not be done for $299 but we gave them a call on Friday. They said we couldnt get the econ rate because of the distance. I explainded we really didnt have much, a 1 bedroom but it was on the 2nd floor and we were moving to a second floor. The least expensive we found when shopping around was $650 . They came out and took a look and gave us a great price. The movers were fast and friendly. The total was under $500 and I didnt break a sweat. We called on Friday and were moved on Sunday. I highly recomend this company! more

This was my third move with this company. I moved with them with two local stops and the last was a move to Philly. I have been happy with their work everytime. I highly recommend them. The cost was good, the guys were cordial. Thumbs up all around. more

1) They did not plastic Wrap my COUCHES although they said they would 2) Damages to Couch while delivery 3) Damages include Tear of couch due to Friction & wall.. 4) 3 guys showed up, One was damn LAZY.. 2 People were real hardworking. 5) I Provided them with FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH (felt so much for the weight they lift) more

We hired them for a going special that you'll see very often on this review board: 3 guys for 3 hours. The 3 guys were scheduled to come at 4 so I could supervise and assist, that means four of us moving. They called at 1 and said they were on the way over early. My wife said we weren't ready, we were still packing and I was still at work! They showed up at 1:30, finished the job and left before I got home. Nothing was moved! They only took a few heavier pieces and left the entire apartment in shambles. Our house has nothing in it. One piece was left out on the lawn. The next day it rained. They claimed it was too heavy to bring in. I dried it off and brought it in the next day myself. Sissies, much? When I arrived home and inspected the place, I went up to our bedroom and saw that our bed was indeed setup. My son's toddler mattress was next to it. My son jumped head first onto the mattress (as he does) and laughed. I went to pick him up and noticed that there was a razor sharp piece of metal on the floor pointing at his face. The metal was a bracket from our bed which had fallen off and gotten wedged under the bed. I have sliced myself on these before, my son could have been disfigured. I grabbed the metal piece and my son and left the room. On the way out of the room, I noticed glass on the floor. The movers had broken a mirrored outlet cover on our mirrored wall and left the glass there. So with a toddler in the house, they left sharp metal and glass for him to find. I was furious. My wife called and asked them to be laid off. No money has been returned. I called, the guys were never fired. SCAM ALERT!!!! more

DC Movers moved my family locally form Durham, to Durham. Had an estimate done and among the three companies they had the best price; not always an indication of the service one will get, good or bad. With the economy as it is the best price was the best option. The guys did a great job. We recommend these guys to anyone looking for a good move at a good price. more

This has been a good experience. I spoke to a sweet lady named Regina at the office and she helped me schedule my move. The service was good and the owner came out to ""check in"". They were quick and professional and I think you will like them moving your stuff more than you having to do it. I had a small move that went to VA. I am no longer in the area but if I was I would use them again. more

We had a very good move with this company the weekend of 8/8. We did a move from Raleigh to Chapel Hill. We got the economy move. Everything went great but after we unpacked I found that my drill was missing. I called the office to notify them that the guys may have picked it up by accident. I spoke to the owner who appologized and promoised to get to the bottom. He called back two days latter and appologized again, he spoke to the guys no one knew what happened. He asked me the model number and said they would be happy to replace the drill. I had to send in a claim form and then I could be reimbursed or they could purchase another. more

My wife and I moved two weeks ago from an apartment to our first home. The movers showed up on time and were friendly and professional. We got an estimate, so we meet the owner before the move. He sent three men who worked hard and it was not an easy move. The owner came and helped out with the move later, during the unload. He has obviously done this a long time. We were pleased and we told him so in an email after the move. He asked that if we found the time to share our experience here so I have. If you use them ask if the owner could stop by. I suggest you get the AM move. I was very pleased with this company and their work once they got there. I had the PM move which was suppose to start at 2 PM but the movers arrived at 3:15. They called to say they would be running behind around noon and were very appologetic. I understand the AM move was longer than they expected. That being said they did an excellent job. I hired this company on the recommendation of a friend. I had a nother company I thought to use that had a cheaper price. They said they had a $75 an hour for 2 men and this company is like $299 for three hours and 3 men. I talk to the office at this moving company and they explained that two men wasn't comparable to three. They said the difference wasn't like 1 man it was more like two. I chose to go with them and I have to admit they moved as fast as anyone can and it took 4 hours I would have hated to see what two men would have taken. I was pleased with their service and I got my 2 bed room apt moved from Chapel Hill to Raleigh from the 3rd floor to a townhouse for $414.00. Sounds reasonalble to me. They will do a good job. I moved from Pittsboro to Raleigh with these guys. They were on time and polite. They handled my stuff with care and I would recommend them to anyone.
